    Feeling like CRAP

Ah, I never thought of blood pressure either. Good call!

    False positive HCG test

That is just so horrible! I agree that there must have been a mix up in the lab. With that said, even though you know there is no possible way you could be pregnant, they have to err on the side of caution and get clearance from your OBGYN. I know how much it sucks that you were completely ready for this to happen, and Boom! Nothing. Hang in there. Things will get straightened out and you will have your surgery. But, I would definitely let them know you are none too happy about the test not being repeated at that time.

    Feeling like CRAP

Could it be you caught some kind of virus/bug? There are many viruses going around right now, and it could be you picked one up. The only thing I can think of. If you are getting enough Protein and you are drinking fluids, I don't think the lack of Vitamins right now would cause nausea or exhaustion. Feel better.

    Cheese

So the nutritional yeast tastes like cheese? I guess it would be okay on Soups and some dishes, but not everything.
  6. That is so wonderful that you have such great control of your diabetes. Are you a Type 1? I'm just curious because most diabetics (T2's) go into remission. That isn't to say that they still wouldn't have a reactive hypoglycemia happen if they ate just a carb with no protein follow up. I am T2 and still wearing my pump, however my numbers are behaving much better than they were prior to surgery. Actually, aside from the weight I gained from insulin use and not being able to drop it, and the horrible insulin resistance I have is why I had this surgery done. Keeping my fingers crossed that at some point the insulin will not be needed. I'm only 3 weeks out, and I've been diabetic for over 21 years, so it may take the weight loss to lower the insulin resistance. I'll be patient; I have no choice. But, much happier that I'm not pumping in tons of insulin with my numbers staying high anymore.
  7. 20 grams of carbs per shake is high. I'm surprised they require that. Try using Premier Protein shakes. They have 30 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar, and 5 grams of carb per shake and 160 calories, and they taste great. You can also do Kellogg's Protein Shakes. They aren't bad tasting. They have 10 grams protein per shake. I would also do the liquid diet like the others have said. You'll get there.

    First week amounts

I'd try to shoot for more Protein if you can, but otherwise you are doing great. Just make sure to get that liquid in (more than 64 oz if possible) and the higher your protein intake, the more healing that happens. Shoot for the 70 grams.

    Left side, G tube pain

My drain tube was more to my right side. I hated the tube; it hurt. I had it for a week. Was thrilled when it came out, and the pain was just about gone immediately. Don't have any words of advice for you, sorry. Just do what you can to get through til Wednesday. Good Luck.

    Sugar free ice cream?

There is a brand of non-dairy ice cream called So brand and they make ice cream with Cashew Milk, Coconut Milk, Almond Milk. It tastes wonderful, and my pouch handles it quite well. Also, Klondike No Sugar Added Krunch and Plain bars. So far so good.
  12. Just remember that when you have a meal that is mostly carb without any Protein, you will need to keep vigilant on your blood sugars for the next couple of hours. I used to go hypoglycemic without any warning. Before I knew it I'd be in the 40's. It takes 15-20 minutes when trying to correct before your body will react. Try not to overdo it with the food trying to raise blood sugar. You should always keep some type of glucose tabs, glucose gel, or glucose drink at hand to help raise you back up. Djmohr, I know exactly that feeling you are talking about. A low blood sugar is very scary. Again, I'd get them with no warning. Hasn't happened in a long time, hence the need for WLS (diabetes was getting too hard to control on an insulin pump). My numbers are much better since surgery, and hopefully with weight loss there will be less insulin resistance and I will continue to improve. Axlr8n, 89 is a beautiful number for morning. Just keep your eye on it during the day and into the evening too. Good Luck.
  13. We will all be here waiting for you to update us on how you did and how you feel when you are feeling able to update. We are making room right now for all you who have surgery tomorrow or this week on the losers bench! Good Luck, and God Bless.
  14. Typically with reactive hypoglycemia, or even hypoglycemia for that matter, you would feel very shaky, racing heartbeat, you may be sweaty, and nauseous all before passing out. Typically you do not just faint. That could be blood pressure. But also I would think you would feel dizzy or lightheaded from low blood pressure. I hope whatever is going on you find out what is going on and it is dealt with.

If you are going to do a probiotic again, might I suggest the Walmart Brand Equate? It is the same as Align but about $20 cheaper. I just purchased 42 pills for just under $25.00. That is the cheapest I've found and it works wonderful. I think I just had a stall between week 2 and week 3, but fortunately I didn't need dolcolax to jump start it again. My body was able to do that all on its own (I credit the probiotic).

    Cheese

Never heard of it. Does it have any Protein? I'd prefer to add a powdered protein to other foods.

I feel the same way! But, in reading many of the posts here prior to surgery I know that there are stalls along the way. Many of the people have said to just keep doing what you know is right and follow the plan. You will get over the stall and suddenly begin losing weight again. Just keep doing what you are doing. That's all we can do at this point right?
  18. So I'm almost 2 weeks post op, and will be soon moving to the pureed stage of post op. I just bought some stuff to begin introducing pureed to my diet. I bought things like baby applesauce, baby carrots, baby meats, cottage cheese, yogurt, SF pudding to make with Cashew Milk. What did all of you eat during this stage? Any recipes to share? Looking for a bit more variety after being liquid for 4 weeks!!! Thanks.
  19. I am two weeks post op and just beginning to add in some pureed foods. I tried to eat a small amount of scrambled eggs this morning, and did okay with it. I had a headache so I took some liquid Children's Tylenol, bubble gum flavored. It is kind of thick and it just went down yuck. After taking it, I felt sick to my stomach and like it just wasn't sitting well. My whole system felt funky after that. A short time later, maybe 2-3 hours, I drank a Protein drink. 20 minutes later I was in the bathroom. I felt nauseous but did not vomit, but the other end I had no control over. The rest of the day I just felt bad. It is Spring, which in this neck of the woods brings on allergies and sinus issues, and my body is very sensitive to the barometer. Today felt like one of those days. I stayed pretty light with the rest of the day food. Later I had some cream of chicken Soup (1/4 cup) and then a bit after that had another Protein shake. I just had a sugar free Jello cup, and 10 minutes later ended up in the bathroom again. Is this normal? Am I rushing things too fast? Should I just stick to the liquids for a few days? My plan was to return to work tomorrow. If I feel like this in the morning, I will unfortunately have to stay home. I'm very disappointed. What am I doing wrong?
  20. I definitely know all about the "sorbie squirts"! I can't do any sugar alcohol. I get severe abdominal pain, severe intestinal pain, and spend the better part of day or night in the bathroom. It's horrible. I avoid it like the plague!

Oh you poor thing! I had that a few years ago and it lasted a long time. Terrible. I hope you are cured of it very soon and be kind to your poor tummy. How awful to have had bariatric surgery and then have H. Pylori! Feel better real soon. Have they talked to you about taking a probiotic? I highly recommend. I've been on them for years now and they are a Godsend!

I'm 3 weeks post op, so I do know how hard it is! But, patience is a virtue right?
  23. Thanks for the Flonase suggestion. I do have Nasacort at home and will try that next time it happens. I always forget I have it. Same stuff as Flonase.
  24. Some experience a lot of pain, others don't. I myself did not have huge pain; more soreness than anything. You feel like you worked out for 3 days nonstop. There was some discomfort with certain movements, but I can honestly say I didn't have major pain. I'm almost 3 weeks out and this was my first week back to work. Of course I work in an office, so a desk job that is not too physically demanding on my body. I do have to get up and move around a bit though otherwise I get a bit sore from sitting!!

    Crying...

Perhaps because you are making progress after struggling prior to surgery? You are happy for yourself as well? I agree with the hormones thing too. Whatever the reason, wipe those tears away and be beautiful!
