  1. Woah. I'm so sorry you all are having a rough time. I'm only a side sleeper so now you all have confirmed that I should indeed rent a recliner for at least a month. I cant physically sleep on my back, I get recurring dreams that I'm falling in a hole and am jolted awake. Every. Single. Time. I've had this issue my entire life. My bed is super high, but we have one of those portable steps, but after reading all your experiences as soon as I have a date I'm gonna rent one! Thanks!!!
  2. ACK!!!!!!! Nothing, yet!! I'm dyiiinngggg! Argh!
  3. Hi I've never heard of them. I would check with your insurance/surgeon first and make sure they are acceptable to meet their criteria. Also, check with your insurance company directly. I was told by my surgeon's office, my nutritionist and my psych that the Psych evaluation and the Nutritional consultations were not covered by insurance...any insurance. Well, I decided to check on my own since I have mental health as part of our insurance and guess what!? Instead of $250 & $350 for the 2 services...I only had to pay $50! Both the nutritionist and the psych called themselves to verify after I told them because they couldn't believe it. So check with your insurance yourself!
  4. It's so scary, isn't it? Thankfully we have this tool. My surgeon's office submitted my file for approval to Cigna this week and I should have an answer on Monday! Can't wait! How about you?
  5. First, congrats!! There is a lady on another forum that lost 1 pound the first week or couple of weeks, something like that! Well, she is down to goal and just had plastics! So hang in there!
  6. Congrats! Such a relief, huh?! Good Luck!
  7. I hear ya! Other than my husband and my children I already regret telling a couple of people. It's hard because I am an open book, but good grief if those closest to you don't get it! Yes, I know I'll have to change my eating habits. Yep, I know I'll have some lose skin. Aha, I'll still have to work at it. Absolutely, I know if I'm not careful I can gain it all back. ugh! WTH is wrong with people. Those closest to me KNOW how many times I've tried on my own. And they also know that my BIGGEST and number 1 concern is my health! (looong history of heart disease on my both sides of my family. My dad died of a massive heart attack at 61! And he was 100 lbs lighter and healthier than I am at 45! If I could go back I would have only told my husband and my kids. Hang in there, you KNOW you are doing the best thing for yourself and that's really all that matters.
  8. It still amazes me how much we get varied information based on the program you are in. I haven't had my pre-surgery seminar where we get all the ins and outs of post op, BUT I have seen my nutritionist for 3 months and she told me there is no reason why I can't have caffeine post bypass. Granted I only drink 1 espresso with milk (cafe con leche/ latte) in the morning. She said the milk would count as part of my liquids for the day and the caffeine wouldn't be a problem.I'm curious to see what they tell me in the class. I'm VERY happy that I gave up my Coke addiction 2 years ago. I was having a 2-liter a day and I quit cold turkey....wasn't pretty but I did it.
  9. I'm new as well, but welcome! I know in the very beginning it seems as if you are never going to get there, but I'm *almost* there (waiting on approval) and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck!
  10. Thanks! I called yesterday and they assured me I'll have a response on Monday! Its going to be a looong weekend!
  11. I was SO stressed thinking they weren't going to submit until Monday, but I confirmed with Cigna that my file has been submitted and all pertinent docs were received! Woot woot! She said it will be a couple of days. I hope so, especially since after 20 yrs with Cigna my husband's company is changing insurance companies the 1st of the year! Please pray and send positive thoughts for what we all want...a quick easy approval!
  12. I am SO happy to hear this! After 23 yrs My husband's employer is also changing from Cigna to UHC first of the year. I'm SO worried that they will deny me just for that. Today I was advised by surgeon's office that they were submitting my file for approval! *fingers crossed*
