  1. Yesterday, upper body workout followed up with 65 minutes on elliptical. No running yesterday as my legs were KILLING me from leg workout on Tuesday.

A.M. today, 24 minute/2.5 mile run-put me over my weekly goal (WOOOT). Then, 15 minutes on elliptical. Tonight will be leg workout and more cardio.

  2. i said something in another thread about this - so far haven't been slammed:wink: there was a HUGE difference between yesterday at the gym and over the wkend; but i also go mid morning.

today - *waiting on directv who are suppose to be here between 10-2....i bet they show @5pm*

wii - yoga this AM, turning into a habit...i got jillian michaels ultimate 2009 game and need to crack that open. has anyone tried it?

Yeah, I now do my cardio at work in the fitness cntr. I then do my lifting an hour earlier due start time at work moving up an hour. Makes a BIG difference. By the time I leave about 5:15 or so, it is getting packed.

    May I join in?

Yesterday - 5th day in a row at the gym. 30 min treadmill (alternating walking & jogging), 15 min upper body strength, 15 min elliptical.

    Today - rest

Tomorrow - I go brave the crowds at the gym again (parking lot was pure crazy yesterday).

Of course you are welcome Karen. The more the merrier.:)

  3. Yesterday:

I HATE this time of year at the gym! There should be a rule that you cannot join a gym in January if you don't plan to come all year.

Careful where you say this ccl. I said something like that last year and got flamed. Not so much here, but on other threads.

    I agree whole heartedly though.

  4. hope your feeling better soon.

today - new yr, new routine with trainer. 50min w/him, concentration on the booty/glutts/legs, followed with 20min walk on treadmill.

ceradad - that's a great goal! i'm struggling with getting back to running when my tri was canceled and this morning was no exception. i'll try tomorrow:)

I have faith you'll get back at it.

My problem this week so far is that we switched to a new start time of 0700 @ work and that translates to me getting up at 0330 or so to come in to do cardio. By about this time, I'm dragging arse to make it through to the end. It's going to take a couple weeks before I get into this flow.

  5. Update time.

    Saturday-20 minute/2.1 mile run

    65 minutes on elliptical

    Sunday-65 minutes on elliptical

    Monday a.m.-35 minute/3.5 mile run

p.m.-Tonight will be upper body workout and about another 35 minutes of cardio.

I've decided I am going to set a goal of running 520 miles either on the treadmill or rode over the course of 2009. I only have to average 10 miles per week.

  6. Ok, my agent called me back today after talking to the underwriters. The main issue is that they lump all WLS surgeries together. They say I am going to have malabsorption (sp) issues and anemia. I told him that just isn't true. That they need to be educated on the differences between the various gastric bypass surgeries. Just because they are categorized the same does not equate to them all being the same.

I informed him that my insides have not been carved up:biggrin: or rearranged. He called the underwriters back and they cannot change anything. The person who handles their medical policies has to make that change. I told him I would get some information and drop it by his office so he could forward it on to the proper person.

  7. Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's kind of nice to have your clinic use you as one of their main success stories.

DD didn't get Wall E somehow for Christmas. Everyone must have figured she would get it from someone else. Instead, she got something called "The Last Unicorn". She must have watched it about 10 times last weekend.

  8. I have to say that before I met my husband who LOVES GSD I was not a big fan. For some reason cops love GSD's! hehehehe

Our newest GSD is a rescue. She is the typical velco GSD. She is winning me over more and more to the breed. We are training her at a Schutzhund club and it is a lot of fun.

Mine was adopted from St Paul PD. He was too young for them to use, so they adopted him out. I happened to have a friend that let me know about him. The first few months we had him at home he would pull on the cuffs of DW's sweatshirts trying to take her down like they are trained. He only had about 1 month of training, but he figured that part out.

  9. PJTP-

Some of you may be aware that back during the summer I was asked to take part in my clinics ad campaign for the month of Oct. concerning WLS and Lap Band in particular. This campaign was between Park Nicollet Clinic, WCCO-TV, the Mpls Star Tribune and the state of MN called Stay Healthy MN. I ended up being in a couple tv spots that ran all of Oct and a couple ads in the paper. Also, they did a poster of me and family for their clinics all over the state.

Well, I got an email from them saying they want to do a mass mailing to about 160,000 addresses and want new pics of me and family for it. Of course, I said I would. Haven't hidden this surgery from anyone and want to help educate.

Just thought I would share again.

  10. Hello guys! I've been MIA for a while...haven't done so well since Thanksgiving, but I'm back! I got my booty up and went to the gym this morning.

    walk~ 10 minutes

    run~ 10 minutes

    zumba~ 45 minutes

Welcome back gg, great to have you back at it!

Well you all have me motivated...I am in on the challenge, will walk with my GSD today!!!!

GSD's are the best dogs EVER. I absolutely  mine even though he proves time and time again to be smarter than me.

hey georgia girl - love the new avtr, happy nyr!

today - DH wanted to sleep in & i was up early - go figure.

40min horse back riding & about 30min walk with the dogs. pretty day in dallas!!!

Any day in Dallas is a pretty day imho. Especially compared to up here.

I guess I need to stop reading & start being accountable so here goes...

    New years day:

    1 hr weights, back/biceps

30 min. elliptical, 15 min. bike

    That's the spirit ccl.

As for me, as I worked a double yesterday, I only did 35 minutes/3.5 miles on treadmill this morning. I'll get back in tomorrow morning for extra cardio. Next week is back to weight lifting after my week off.

  11. Sorry, forgot to mention that. The amount is nowhere near 1-2 million. Only 500k.

As for what is on the report, considering he said I did qualify for the super preferred premium, I'm sure there is nothing erroneous on that. Plus, I just had a physical for my job and I got my bloodwork results back from my dr. Everything was well within the normal ranges if not even better. So, I know there aren't any problems there.

  12. So, DW and I are in the process of switching our life insurance policy to a new company. We first got life insurance about 4 yrs ago and got term life insurance. At the time we were pretty ignorant and just went with what the guy gave us. Premiums went up each year. Mine more than DW we believe because I was so overweight at the time and my blood work was not good at all.

Now, after taking a financial course, we have learned that we were getting screwed royally by the company. So we decide to check out the agent that has our auto and home insurance. Go through all the paperwork with our agent, get the little "physical" where they take your height, weight, blood and urine samples and a phone interview to get medical background info.

Agent calls me up yesterday and says he has great news and "interesting" news. Says DW qualified for their super preferred premium which cuts about $15/mo off her premium. That is the great news. Then tells me that since I had the lap band procedure only 16 months ago, and they don't like to consider that until at least 2 yrs out, they want to put a "small" surcharge on my premium. I qualified for the super preferred premium as well due to my cholesterol being great after all the working out I've done. Then tells me that with the surcharge my premium will be $120/mo, approximately 240% what I qualified for. Says if we go with it, they won't look at my premium for 2 more yrs. However, we can not go with it for now and on my 2 yr bandiversary, we can go through the whole thing again.

Now, to me, it felt like I was being discriminated against again. The first company was screwing me over for being so overweight and they wanted to get their money out of us because I was more at risk of dying younger. Now, this company says that because I had WLS, I lost the weight too fast (he thinks this is the reason) and may gain the weight right back. WTFH?!?!?!?!?

Now, I may be overreacting, but it just seems like the insurance companies just really don't like fat people. Even ones that have done something to lessen the problems that can come from being overweight.

  13. our dogs can't stand the noise as well, which is sad because 2 are bird hunting dogs...LOL

Yeah, my german shepherd HATES fireworks and thunderstorms. Must be the reason why St Paul PD gave up on him as a K-9 cop for them. Plus, he is kind of a wussy, won't wrestle with me. Oh well, he gets aggressive when he needs to protect DD or DW and that is the important thing.

  14. This morning:

    15 minutes on treadmill

    35 minutes on elliptical

    15 minutes on treadmill

    35 minutes on elliptical

No double posting, that was my split. Working late shift today and figured I would get some extra in. Tomorrow I'm off, so I will do about the same amount tomorrow.

Stay positive CC, it will come.

  15. i was actually giggling at one point - hubby can now root for the gmen...

cc - we'll def have a jan thread!!!

If your hubby starts cheering for the Gnats, I would lose all respect for him as a Cowboys fan. How can you even ask him to degrade himself like that?:tongue2:
