  1. Consider it done!
not the most religious - but i'll put in a good word for you!!
Jeez what happened to all the sun? I liked the 60's yesterday.. I got the car washed and waxed it (That was a workout!)

I wake up this morning to a ton of ice and it's 20 freaking degrees!

I am not religous but I will see what I can do for you :) I wish you the best.

    I guess I shouldn't say bless your heart :wink5:

    O.K. Ceradad it's a done deal!

Thanks all. It's as much for DW as for me. She is not overly enthused about this life style change for me. And, because it is for me, it will affect her greatly. Most likely more than me. So, keep her in your prayers/thoughts as well.

  2. PJTP~

May be having a major change in my life w/i the next couple of months. No additions to the family or changes in family structure. Can't say what right now as I don't want to have the whole thing fall through.

However, if you are a praying person, I could use all the prayers I can get on this. One way or the other, any prayers to help me find the correct course of action that God intends for me right now in my life. It would be greatly appreciated. If not a praying person, just good thought then would be appreciated. This is something that I have been mulling over for a LONG time now. I need all the support I can get.

    Thanks.

    Sun--6 mile run 65 mins

    Upperbody workout 45 mins

Nice to see you back with us "slackers" whosya.:w00t:

As for me, Thursday p.m. was upper body workout. Felt like shit. Weekend was "guys weekend". Waaaaaaaay too many "beverages" Friday and Saturday night.:ihih:. Back at it this morning and upper body workout was alot better than last weeks.:) Oh well. Did 1 mile run afterwards. Working a double today. May be able to get in a small cardio workout sometime today. We'll see.

  4. Yes I get hit on all the time now ...even while buying a ept test at walmart...classy..

Having seen your recent pics, who could blame them? Now, while buying an ept test may be pushing the limits of good taste, I'll admit. But, that is assuming any man has common sense around hot women.;)

  5. SnT, yep.

tap, crazy story and I agree completely - but a little common sense could have been applied right there.

To all those going through this crazy freeze... um, -48° is that normal for you guys? That sounds Antarctic to me. I didn't have a clue temps got like that here in the US (mainland).

This is the coldest in 5 yrs here in MN. From about mid Dec until mid Feb., we tend to go below 0. Just not this far below.

But, trust me, it gets darn cold in the plains and Great Lakes areas.;)

Thanks for the heads up lulu. Hope it gets better. Hernia is bad enough by itself from what I hear.

  6. "Bless you" is a sweet, honest phrase to me used like "oh thank goodness." "Bless your heart" is much different (to me).

Cera - I was so ready to tell you how much I loved you for using "farther" as not many do and then you had to add the "everywhere" information. Wow, I'm not sure where to go w/ that!!! Ha.

    Amen, Tap....as is common sense!!!

    Must we?

If you find out what the justification was or what he was charged with, pls let us know. I'd like to hear it b/c that seems crazy to me. (Tho I'm not thrilled that he wasted 10 min of gas!!)

OK re: south.....to me (i.e. this is not the gospel for anyone else but me), "the south" that has the stereotypes for all things southern (both negative and positive) is more southeast. (KY, TN, MS, AL, GA, NC, SC, n. FLA, LA-i guess) It's more humid in the southeast whereas I think of Texas being drier like NM and AZ or "southwest". Now do native Texans speak slower like we do? Sure! I don't think of Texas having as negative a stereotype but they may. To me, Texas is more Marlboro man, rugged country to me! :( My 2 cents.

    1. Not sure how "bless your heart" is an insult, but I will believe you that it is considered so.;)
    2. I try with proper grammar. As for the "everywhere" comment, you can take it wherever you like.
    3. Yes, you can continue to discuss my body. It is a beautiful thing to behold.
    4. Not saying I necessarily agree with the law, just telling the justification used behind it.
    5. To me, anything south of Iowa is the south. If you are complaining that 60 is cold, you are in the south.

  7. My concern with this comment is that you inserted and emphasized "Everywhere"

I agree with you Tap.. The man shouldn't have been cited. Was the car in his driveway or was it parked on the street? But also you have to assume that it's possible this law is in affect for public areas where it could be a safety issue such as a small child getting in and taking it out of gear.

I am not saying it's right but I do know where a child got in a running truck took it out of gear and it ran over a 1 year old and killed her. The parents were loading the truck with skiing gear while the truck was warming up.

    I stand by my quote.

As for the car running with keys in it, that is to take away the temptation to steal from others with less self control.

  8. Temp gauge on SUV this morning read -30 @ 0400. That is not WC, it is air temp. Why do people live up here? And there are people who live farther north than I.

PJTP~tomorrow is my annual "ice fishing" trip with the guys. As you can tell by the quotation marks, not much fishing takes place. We rent a cabin on the lake shore and an ice house on the lake about 4 miles south of a casino. Friday night is buffet (not really worth it for me anymore but it is tradition) followed by blackjack at the casino. Then, back to the cabin for cards and "beverages" until about 0500 Saturday morning. sleep for about 4 hrs and then back at it. Some will actually go on the ice for about 4-5 hrs. Then, Saturday night is a "gentlemens" establishment for some "entertainment". Been looking forward to this for, ohhhh, about 11 mos.

  9. Later on yesterday, ran 1.5 miles in 13:15 then a 7 minute cooldown. This put me @ goal for the week. Followed that with 15 minutes on elliptical. No lifting last night.

This morning was 35 minutes on elliptical followed by 1 mile/10 minute jog with a 4 minute cooldown.

Tonight will be upper body workout with some cardio afterwards.

  10. Did not get into gym last night for leg workout due to problem at home with garage door not closing. Of course, by the time I made it home, it was fixed. By then, I did not have the mindset.

This morning, 35 minutes on elliptical. Followed up with 11 minute/1.25 mile run and then 5 minute cooldown. I'll get up again today for another 35 minutes of cardio.

  11. Ha!!!

A couple of co-workers were down last week from Minneapolis. I asked one why they lived there (b/c of the cold). They both said, "I don't know!" :tt2:

I ask myself that every damn year. Then, I remember I married a MN woman who wants to be around her family.

Okay I admit I didnt read the story but really... 275 lbs gets you a zoo MRI? Wow. That means I would have needed a Sea World Orca MRI machine.

I have heard of this before. The tv show "Scrubs" even mentioned it one time to a patient that was too big for their MRI.

Hey wait....are we neighbors?? Nope, you didn't mention 8" of snow falling yesterday.

Well, we did get 6" of snow on Monday and another 2" last night. To top it off, -8 this morning and the next 2 nights are to approach -20 again with WC around -35 to -40.

  12. CeraDad, I thought the "slippage" poster meant to say "have had one or two slip ups" -- as in eaten something they shouldn't have. But maybe a majority of long term banders have had slippage? For those on this thread who've been banded longer than 1 year, please let us know if you've had any slippage. Perhaps this is a lot more common than us "juniors" realize.

Could be and I just misread it.

i'm 15 months out - no slip. but like she stated a page back, i think it's best to have as little fill needed for restriction/weightloss .....today i had .25 taken out. i swear that pouch test KILLED my appetite completely.

i do however have a hernia - could be weight loss related; maybe not. i have an appt w/surgeon & lapband dr thursday morning for a consult to get it out. it is what it is.

my husband totally cheated; he shaved off a day here or there advancing to certain foods post op or after a fill. what he didn't do was come here looking for approval from those that did the same. his consequences are his should something happen.....he was also honest w/our dr & didn't try to have a steak 3 days out....

That is the way I look at it. I followed pretty closely to what the instructions were. I didn't eat anything for the first 5 days. The next were kind of hard and I cheated with a cherry Tomato once and something else small once. Never even considered a hamburger and fries as something to eat. Once I went on the whole liquids and especially mushies, I would good to go.

  13. i'll no longer comment on those threads (burger one did me in).

but i have no issue reading all the responses:)

Same here. I cannot reply to them. Alot of people cheat, but only a little. (Confession time: I cheated a little post op. But, only small items once or twice. I knew it was wrong and did not go looking for someone to tell me it was ok). The ones that eat a full meal afterwards kill me.

The post that got me was the bottom one on the first page. Poster said "most bandsters have had one or two slippages". WTH? Where did she get that. I've been on here for well over a yr and have only read about one or two slippages.

  14. Last night was leg workout and another 65 minutes on elliptical.

This morning I set the wrong alarm and barely had time to get into work on time. Left calf was extremely tight this morning and has not loosened up today. That coupled with DD apparently having the flu and DW needing to get some errands done, looks like today is out completely.
