One more trial passed
RNYDawn replied to cendella170's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@cendella170 that's great news!! I'm hoping to submit for approval in January after my 90 day nutrition requirements are met. @@Djmohr I can't wait to feel like that too! -
Great list @@James Marusek! Even for those of us at home, having an idea of what is needed is so helpful!

So this morning the scale said 200.0... That is torturous!

The scale is such an evil temptress! -
Congrats!!

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I am not a big fan of ER doctors either. My then-2 1/2 year old was sitting on our coffe table and leaned over and fell - she caught herself with her hand and started screaming. I took her to the ER and they did x-rays of her neck. Turns out she had a broken collar bone which the ER totally missed but her pediatrician figured out within 5 mins of an examination! I would definitely follow up with your surgeon and bariatric team and request that they write a script for an ultrasound or whatever else is needed to get you a proper diagnosis and care. hugs!

What Are Some Things You Can't Wait for POST OP?
RNYDawn replied to Denise73's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Some things I can't wait for post-op: Wearing clothes that I love and not just what fits (and let's be real, paying a premium for plus size clothes sucks!) Shopping anywhere I want! Fitting into airplane seats/amusement park rides without fear Not being the 'fat mom' or 'fat friend' Relieving pressure from my ankles and knees so I can run another half marathon Being a healthy example for my two little girls Keeping up with my husband NO MORE GERD! My list is pretty endless but those are the top for now -

Is it bad that I'm looking forward to this! I am always hot. My head sweats like crazy so I can't wait to not be sweating all the time!

How Do You Get Yourself Out the Door to Exercise?
RNYDawn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I signed up for a boxing class that meets 3x/week. There are only three of us in the morning class and class is cancelled if 2/3 don't show up. I don't want to be why someone can't work out! Having accountability from my group is a big motivator, as is the monthly fee. It also helps that my Coach is pretty tough on us if we have lame excuses as to why someone missed a class. -
I'm sorry all of this is going on This is a long shot - but do you still have your gallbladder? I was nauseated and got the shakes when I had a gallbladder attack but the pain was more in my back and not under my breast. I had gallstones which were clogging up the works and making me feel so lousy. I hope you find an answer soon!

When your RNY stops working...
RNYDawn replied to UrsulasShadow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This was a good article. But what stuck out to me was that she said, "I thought I was cured,...I thought I could eat like regular people." Just based off of what I have been researching for a few months, I know that I will never be able to eat how I do now (before surgery). I don't understand the mindset that going back to old ways and eating like someone with a regular stomach is okay after RNY? I may be naive since I have not even had my surgery yet but I know this is a lifelong commitment. -

You are kicking so much butt! So happy for you!! -
Could you make a smoothie with yogurt, milk, and some liquid egg whites...maybe some fruit? They are pasteurized and 3 TBL has 5g of protein. I used to add liquid egg whites to my green smoothies and couldn't taste them.

Fighting Fears and Being Honest: A learning experience
RNYDawn replied to Sony09's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! So happy for you! -
I've had two c-sections. The recovery from the first one was pretty rough and I wasn't okay even walking up my street until 2+ weeks post-op. I think I cried when they made me walk down the hall in the hospital! My second one had a MUCH easier and faster recovery where I was walking around on day 2 with little discomfort. Can anyone compare the two surgeries as far as pain and recovery? Life after c-section is also insane since there's a new human depending on you for life plus the crazy hormonal swings. ???? I'm sure RNY has its own mental challenges to push through!

Can anyone compared RNY to c-section?
RNYDawn replied to RNYDawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Wow, thank you all SO MUCH for your responses. I'm obviously hoping the RNY is easier recovery than my c-sections but I will take it as it comes! That darn gas pain seems to be the biggest culprit so hopefully I can walk soon after surgery and work it out of there -
That's amazing! Congrats!!

It looks great on you! -
hair loss is one of my biggest concerns with WLS. I have PCOS and my hair is already thin and fine - and super thin on my crown. I use Toppik on a few little Patches where I think there's too much scalp showing. It's not super noticeable yet but it won't take much more to make it bad. But in the end, it's still worth it for me to have the surgery and deal with the hair loss.

Hi all. I decided to join VIP too since I am in this for the long haul. I read a lot on here so wanted to finally say hello. I'm 40, mom to two little girls, married for almost 13 years, and work from home full time as a government contractor. I had my first NUT/counseling appointment yesterday and hope to have my surgery in Feb or March...hopefully February! Looking forward to talking to everyone! -
You look awesome! So happy you are feeling great!
