  1. I have Aetna and was completely overwhelmed with the requirements. I had a 6 month diet option or a 3 month pre surgery get in shape kind of deal. I chose the 3 month plan. I kept logs and paperwork and in the end had to trust my dr office for all the fine details. You need to call insurance and get the policy fine writing that tells you requirements etc. I was approved in less than a week after paperwork was sent. My Drs office is great.... That is the key!!!!! Before you know it surgery is here! Good luck!!

It's so good to see someone with the same insurance. I am in my 3rd month with Coventry Healthcare. In Jan 2016 it will be Aetna. I was/am still a bit confused on why I was put in the 6month program. Regardless, I am super motivated and ready to go. I have a wonderful supportive husband and two little boys (13 mo & 4yrs) that are depending on me. It's my turn to take care of (me) I hope to meet others like you! The positive vibrs from this group are amazing!

  2. I had a visit with my psychologist Friday. No red flags, no further treatment/sessions *required* and said I was an excellent canidate! A HUGE weight has been lifted. I couldn't get to my truck before the surgeon's office was calling to set up my appointment with Dr. Edwards! I meet with him this coming Thursday. I am thrilled! We're looking at a tenative surgery date in March. I am blessed!

  3. I am a candidate for VGS!!

I have my psch eval/ testing and follow up scheduled. Waiting to hear from The Dietician to start my 6mo supervised diets/exercise. I have a dilemma tho. I have a BMI of 43.6 and was told I cannot lose below 40 before they submit to insurance approval. So I cannot lose kore than like 12-14 lbs in 6 mo. Is this a requirement with your policy? Just curious.

  4. I can't wait until I am not in pain. I have RA and Fibromyalgia and my entire body feels like it's in a FLARE all the time. I can't wait to play with my 4yr and 11 mo old boys in the floor longer than 10-15 minutes without being in excruciating pain. I can't wait to enjoy hiking and biking trails with my husband. I can't wait to be HEALTHY! I can't wait to look how I see myself through my eyes. I look forward to MY JOURNEY of loving myself!

  5. I hate that! I hope everything works out for you!

We have our insurance through my husband's employer. I spoke with HR regarding any changes for next year. The only thing changing on ours is for ER visits. We will have a $100 co-pay and you're required to pay any deductible upfront.

  6. It's nice to know I am not alone. We love our insurance provider. The benefits are excellent and affordable. Our policy states a 6 mo supervised diet or (2) 3 mo supervised weightloss programs would be sufficient. I am waiting to hear back on my next step. I am looking forward to the journey!

  7. I just sent in my patient application with letter of medical necessity from my pcp, and insurance info. I have Coventry HealthCare Insurance of Kansas and have already spoken with them regarding coverage. They DO cover and have a few items in their criteria.

Would any one happen to know the process or length of time for approval with Coventry HealthCare of Kansas?

I am completely new, so any info is greatly appreciated!
