  1. I have Cigna and they didn't specifically require that but I did get a call from a nurse that worked for Cigna before and after my surgery to make sure I was all set before the surgery and to check on recovery afterwards. She was very nice and seemed to be familiar with sleeve surgery so I thought that was nice that they did that followup.

I thought it was very nice as well. She stated I'll get a call before, during and after the surgery. How long was your wait to be approved? I have one more weigh in before everything is submitted to Cigna.

  2. Waiting for the results of my psych eval. Get them tomorrow morning along with my consult. This is the last step for me in order to be approved for my vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I am nervous abot getting the results. I have problems with depression and anxiety anyway, so I see a therapist twice a week. She will continue to be part of my support team. I was very honest when I took the test. I thought the psychologist and surgeon deserved to truly know the real me. I want this surgery badly for so many reasons. Wish me luck.

I truly understand! You'll be just fine! Good Luck

  3. I just did mine. Written part is truly common sense. In the discussion portion, they are looking for several things: how realistic are your expectations, what does your support system look like, how committed are you to the vast changes needed to be successful with diet and exercise. I'd never seen a Psych Doc or been in Therapy, so I was nervous too, but it was really fine.

    Thank You, Lemm61

  4. 3 consecutive months 89 days... Plus 1 final weigh in is what I take from it. So we will have 4 weigh ins....I've seen somewhere in this forum where someone finished their 89 days and went back 2 weeks later for final weigh in.

I'm sure Cigna & The Patient advocates can clear up any confusion

  5. Just be careful of the 3 months requirement. The > than 89 days with no appointments less than 25 days and no more than 30 can not be achieved unless your doctor/dietitian is open on a weekend day. You might be lucky but I tried to figure out how to schedule appointments I am looking at 105 to 108 days.,. In the overall scheme is not that big of deal

    Hi Adrianna,

Thanks for the tips about the >89 days requirement. Where or on what page on the policy document did you get the info on the appointments being no less than 25 days apart? Mine only says the appointments have to be at least monthly so I'm starting to think I missed something.

    Miffy

So Miffy are you saying after your 3rd weigh in, the 4th weigh in has to be 25 days later to meet the 89 days required by Cigna?
