  1. Confused, I love the Yoplait yogurt parfaits! Lemon w/ Vanilla is my favorite. My husband likes them in his lunchbox. I haven't tired the chocolate because I don't like chocolate with sour flavors, not even chocolate cheesecake if you can believe it! What flavor did you have?

I also bought the chocolate rasberry ones and my husband has ate them all by putting them in his lunch for work. He also likes the greek yogurt.

  2. wow confused that doesn't seem like much for a days calorie intake, was that on purpose, or were you just not hungry?:)

1 muscle milk is 300 calories. I'm alittle to tight, and I like it. when I'm able to eat, I eat more then I should I guess because I don't loose weight at all, will actually gain weight. So right now I'm happy because the weight is going in the direction that it should. Plus I think about it...I always ask myself "am I hungry or could I do without".

To tell the truth though I haven't been able to eat most of the stuff that everyone on here can eat.

  3. I'm clear up in the N.E In. Closer to Ft. Wayne . I did notice that the meetings here are mostly bypass.I am only 3 mo. out. But, I'm struggling with Hair loss & my nails are cracking up the center. I drink 1 or 2 slim fast low carb drinks a day. I have some of the grape Isopure, not to fond of it.I take the biotin.I eat Protein at every meal.So any helpful suggestion from anyone,PLEASE!!! GOD Bless & give us strength !!:crying:

about your hair and nails mine did the same thing Dr. Stanish told me to take Biotin 1000mg. Now I have to have a haircut once a month and my nails grow strong.

I live in Valparaiso, I have Dr. Stanish and team in Merrillville. I have been to one support meeting and that's only because I'm friends with a bunch of bypass patients, so I only went to visit. I haven't seen them in a while, maybe I should go to support just so I could say Hi. I just love everything about Dr. Stanish...and his team. I had my surgery 1-18-07, then 7-6-09 I had port and tube replacement. I have been asked would I do it again...yes I would...and I guess I did. I see them once a month, get weight and measured every 2 months and have volumes of food/exercise logs.

  4. Just remember to buy a good pair of running shoes, and just because a person or magazine says that they are a good pair of shoes don't always take their words for it. Try them on and run around the store in them...it's ok to look goofy, because if not you will be hurting later, and I now know this for a fact. I had the wrong pair even though they sized me and everything.

  5. Seems to me I am not eating much and I am not losing either. I have been about the same for a year or more. I figure I eat between 800 - 1500 calories per day. I don't have an exercise routine though. I think my metabolism is dead.

Your eating enough to maintain your weight, you need a exercise routine of some sort to burn more calories then you eat and then you will start seeing a weight loss again.

  6. frenchvanilla--

I agree w/confused. One thing I have found out in the year and a half I have been on this board is that people have different rates of weight loss, partly because we have different bodies, partly because we have different lives, and partly because we have different things that motivate or engage us. What will work for 1 person -- may not work for another. The board is excellent for getting ideas so you can figure out what works for you. But ---if you keep at it -- you WILL come up with the right combination that WILL work for you! I have also eaten all the right things -- and spent quite a long time avoiding and hating exercise. I had a great initial weight loss and then just plan stopped losing. I stayed there for nearly a year --- but I must also say that even though I didn't lose weight - my body seemed to be reshaping. Then I got so frustrated that I did finally get the lead out and start to slowly do some exercise. I still didn't see weight loss but I ate more because I was hunger from the exercise. My MD told me that I am simply so short (under 5 ft) that I just will not lose anymore unless I move my butt. So now I know and accept that this is what I have to do. Another thing that helped me was getting a breast reduction. I had it 2 wks ago. I have to wait 1 more wk before going back to the gym and I have to wait another 4 wks before I can do strengths training on the weight machines.

I do admire all the runners here and I think it's a great way to get in shape and lose the weight but I know I just will never run. First of all -- my bones and joints will not take it. Second -- I'm just plain not motivated/interested in it but I do know that there are other ways of losing weight and our challenge is to find the right method and stick to it.

I also appreciate EbonyRose statement about the way the body plateaus and insists on losing when it gets good and ready to do it. I have been in those interminable places when I just can't understand WHY I'm not losing. I think the body is complex and that we can be doing everything right and our bodies are just going to do what they need to do before giving up more weight.

you had a breast reduction I must have lost all my weight in my boobs because I'm looking to have implants and a lift when I reach goal or when the husbands Harley is paid off.

  7. I feel sooo bad reading everyones posts about exercise , i was banded June 2008 and so far have only lost 53 pounds. my diet is perfect i follow it to the "T" but i must admit i do not exercise, will i never lose the rest of the weight if i dont exercise? I have no energy most of the time or i guess i just dont like exercise anyways i feel like i am half ass doing this an i am mad at my self but i dont know how to even make myself work out, any tips from you guys would be great! i cant jog because i have a bad knee but any advise to get me motivated would be greatly appreciated! thanks all!

You can always start out just walking on the treadmill or outside. I started out going to curves for a year, then I felt I need more, so I joined another gym (I call that one a real gym), and was there a year. I then got tired of the drive I had to do plus life was starting to get in the way. So my husband bought us a treadmill and elliptical. I switch off, but I really like jogging/running on the treadmill, that's when I decided that I want to run marathons one day. So you just need to find something that you like doing; dancing, swimming, walking. It's all up to you. Good job though on loosing so much with just diet alone, that's a accomplishment to be proud of. Don't be so hard on yourself.

  8. Thank for all of the advise about my annoying pain problems.

Can anyone help me with the annoying plateau problem. I want to know if I keep going something will just finally give because I'm tired of waiting for "clearance to land", and I would really like to land in an area that I was once in before my port started leaking and I gained back 10 pounds, and had replacement surgery. I just want off the plateau marry-go-round. Some inches are changing but the weight is in the crapper. Yeah it's a mood.

  9. My shoes are new about a month old. I was measured and everything. The shoes that I replaced were to small but I ran intervels in them all the time and never had pain like this, so maybe it's the shoes, but they are suppose to be the best running shoes...new balance 1063.

They just keep telling me it's the muscle toning and changing.

On the other hand I love how my stomach is starting to look from all this running.
