  1. gosh i can't imagine myself eating what you are eating... i tried following a diet before but i really can't... any tips?

January I will be 3 years out and I can't eat some of things that everyone on here eats. I come here to read what everyone else is eating because it's like porn. But I can't help but to think while I'm reading how in the hell our they eating that. I just have learned the things that work for me, and alot of the time it's not what they can eat.

  2. I agree my band is snug one day and less snug the next. I also go through the 1 week thing, that's where I really have to stop and think about what I'm putting into my mouth at that time, because I want the stuff like ice cream and junk.

I thought it was just something that I noticed, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

  3. Just keep yourself on track, I hope your fill helps!

That muscle milk flavor sounds delish! Do you use the lite muscle milk or the regular? Do you add flavorings or did you find one in that flavor? thks!

I bought that flavor, I add nothing to it except Water. I use the regular, because I don't eat enough through the day so the doctor told me to use the regular.

  4. yesterday:

B: 1 cup of dry apple jacks Cereal

L: mocha latte flavored muscle milk

S: 1 bowl of cream of chicken Soup

D: Cake batter flavored muscle milk

Wanted and made a cheese hot dog before the mocha Protein, took 2 small cut up piece of the hot dog and ate it, well I was sick for over an hour trying to get rid of it....decided after that it was best to do liquids the rest of the day because I just didn't feel good.

  5. I am going to the the seminar tomorrow so I hope they can help me get approved. Right now I have bcbs-hmo and the hoop you have to jump through are really designed to discourage you than to assist. I'm hoping Dr Stanish can give me a clear answer and guidance

Chris is great at working with the insurance companies, and all insurance companies make everyone jump through fire hoops. Once they realize how much money they will save by you have the surgery then they ok it. They save money by not having to pay for medications that you may take now, and other health issues you may have now.

I say that because the reason why I had band surgery was because I had thyroid problems, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and was starting to have to take insulin. I take NO medication now, not even my thyroid medication. I'm a Vitamin and exercise junkie....I found that I love running and I love me.

I hope all goes well tomorrow, and that everything works out for you. Life only gets better!!!!

  6. :cool:This is great! I am going to the surgeon on Monday to start this whole process because I am still on the fence about having the band done ( leaning towards yes). It is very interesting to see what everyone can and cant eat. sorry it this is dorky, this is my first post.:blushing:

Everyone is able to eat something different then someone else, what works for me doesn't always work for someone else. Glad to have you here though, and hope to see you around.

  7. I can't believe what everyone can eat. I have not been able to keep any thing down. I was banded in Jan of 07. For 7 months it was as if I had no band. I could eat anything and actually gained weight. Then suddenly in Aug of 07 I started to feel full. By Dec. I was unable to keep any food down. I have lost 90 pounds since Dec and mostly throw up everything I eat. I am basically restricted to Protein Drinks and nuts. Nuts seem to stay down. Anything else I eat or drink just comes right back up. I even throw up my Protein drinks sometimes. It takes me over an hour to get one drink down. Needless to say I seldom eat out.

Have you spoke to your doctor or someone at a fill clinic...don't know which you use. I was told that if you can't do liquids you are to tight and need a small unfill. If your tight and can drink liquids but can't really eat (real food) my doctor really doesn't say much unless it bothers me. I ususally just try to eat real food in the evening because I feel loose in the evening times.

3 more weeks of NO exercise...stress fracture and stuck in a walking boot. I hate not exercising, I want to run!!!:(

  8. Aw thanks Confused. She is a terrier mix. She was a shelter pup. My other dog is a Cairn Terrier. (a Toto dog)

They are my furbabies and full of energy and other stuff! lol

I have an Italian Greyhound...he's my 40mph couch potatoe. He sleeps 20 out of 24 hours. I love him to pieces, he's my baby, he's 5 years. I have real babies: 17, 15, and 12 year olds. I like the dog more sometimes...lol

  9. my bands too tight at the moment its never been like this before:glare:

    yesterday

    B. skipped

    L. 2 bites of baked potato with sour cream, cheese & ham (PB)

    D. homemade nachos..prob 3 bites but it wouldnt stay down again

    S. about 6 olives (PB)

    today

    B. skipped

    L. 1/2 serving of milo mousse

    D. not sure yet i think im too scared to eat anything:crying:

I go back to my surgeon in 2 weeks

I felt like that after my fill a month ago. drink alot of Protein Shakes if you don't want the fill taken out, but if you are unable to drink anything and keep it down then you need an unfill. I have since loosened up naturally and I really don't like it, I like being tight. It may go back to being tight after this week, because sometimes it's just a hormone thing.

  10. Hello.

I am from Speedway, Indiana and new to this whole site. Don't know much about it yet. Looking to find some supportive people.

My doctor was Steven Clark from St Francis Hospital had my lap-band done on July22,09 I just hit 7weeks out.

Have not had a fill yet due to go on the 21st of this month.

Any words of wisdom to offer?

The only things I can say is take everything slow, because you didn't gain weight quickly. The band is a tool and it takes you to make the the tool work the way it is suppose to. And don't always listen to everything that everyone here has to say...some people can just be mean sometimes.

Good luck and enjoy your new to life, don't be afraid to spread your wings and fly.

  11. I'm so thankful for having a tight band right now.

Had a bad day...was very upset...wanted to run/exercise, but have a stress fracture and can't. So then I was like well I'm going to eat, tried that and only got down 2 bites of chips and a buffalo chicken dip,and had to go "pb". So that stopped that.

I had a Protein Shake instead.

I have been trying to eat very little because of the no exercise thing. So I have a couple of Muscle Milks and a very small snack through the day.

  12. My doctor told me that NO pill should be bigger then an M&M. If it is it will get stuck. NO capsules because they can go down side ways and get stuck.

I keep my pills to a limit, most of my stuff i take are chewable or liquid.

Would like to know more about this pineapple juice thing. Sounds like something I should keep in the house. Since having my band almost 3 years ago I haven't been able to eat meat of any kind, there's also alot of other things that I can't eat. Everyone is different and everyone just has to figure out what works for them. Everyone here is here to help, but you can't ever just go by them because they don't know you and what works for you.
