  1. yesterday:

    Ok let's just say I was Bad-and when I'm Bad I know I'm Bad.

1 large vanilla iced coffee w/cream and sugar-from Dunkin Donuts.

2 Handfuls of Dark M&M's mixed with Reese's Pieces--damn candy again

    3 bites of a doublecheese burger and 6 fries--McDonalds

    1 banana flavored muscle milk

As far as the hamburger and fries---k I haven't been able to eat that since before surgery, so that is telling me that I need a small bump of fill.

It was so good though!! Sometimes it's good to bad!

  2. Am I the only one that has this problem?

When i workout(run) and then put on regular clothes the thighs of my jeans are so tight that I almost can't get them on. The problem almost discourages me from working out or from wearing any kind of clothes that aren't stretchy. My husband doesn't understand, he just keeps telling to keep it up and it should go away. The only way it goes way is if i stop doing any kind of exercise, then of course my jeans are so loose I have to go get new ones. So now I have a pair of new ones a size smaller and can't get into them because I'm back to exercising.

  3. I love running. I want to run the chicago marathon, but I thought I would sign up for the Chicago Rock and Roll half marathon. The run is August 1, 2010 and I was just wondering if anyone here who has had band surgery ever ran a half marathon or a full marathon. My husband is worried about me running that kind of distance with the lap band plus not being able to comsume all the calories that are required for a distance runner.

  4. I did go buy some new sweats cuz I haven't done any since before the band..almost three years ago...the old ones were just how sweats were supposed to be...big, baggie and full of holes, and let me tell you, I was quite attractive in them!! I also bought a new sweater to wear to court tomorrow...I'm a witness..not in trouble. Well, I guess not really a witness, but a professional regarding someone's ability to parent, or Not parent, as in this particular case.

It is sort of like school shopping for the new year, but I never got that part done due to just being so busy and also, so many things to me are just ugly this year....it sort of goes that way sometimes.

I purchase alot of fitness clothes. I find it easy to purchase fitness clothes because I know what I like and what I want them to do. Just like I like buying scrubs for work, I know what I like. When it comes to real clothes I have a small problem with that. Just a couple pairs of jeans and sweaters at a time. I have more shoes of all styles, handbags, fitness clothes, and scrubs, then anything else in my closet.

  5. I had given up wearing makeup even when I was bigger. I would only wear it when I had to go somewhere like doctor's appointments, and things like that. I went finally one day last week just to purchase 1 eyeshadow color, that's all I wanted. The lady offered a complete makeover, so I said sure. I'm so glad I did. I loved how I looked, and it was so simple and easy that I can even do it at home...and I do. Tell that moment I think I was just trying to blend into the background of life. I now look at me and think I'm pretty. My 17 year old daughter calls me hot momma now. My husband didn't like the makeover, to made up for him, but now that I do it myself it's not as cakey and thick as it looked when I got home that day.

  6. Thanks confused! Your leak was in the tubing? I'm not sure where mine is. I hope the whole band doesn't have to be replaced! I just hope they can do it soon...I'm tired of this!

My leak was in the port, but they had to shorten my tube and reposition it and the new port because of other problems that I once had in the past.

  7. Hi everyone! Thought I'd let ya'll know that I have a leak in my band, UGH!!!. I've been thinking I had a leak for over a year now. It's a slow one, but it's getting worse. I went to get a fill yesterday and I was missing 1.5cc (in a 4 week span). This explains why I am able to eat like a cow after only a week of restriction following my fills. I go back in 2 weeks to measure again and then I'll know more.

They added 2 cc's yesterday, so I am pretty tight right now. Looks like I'll be on liquids a while.

Hope everyone has a good day!

That's what happened to mine, it was just a slow leak, but it would drive me crazy because I would loose a little weight then gain it back and even extra. I had my port and tube replaced in July of this year. I have had better restriction then I ever did. I don't even remember having this kind of restriction after getting the band in the beginning. It's a real easy surgery, easier and quicker then the whole band surgery. The hard part is the months that they like to take to figure out if it's really a leak, and then of course getting approval with the insurance company to replace the leaking parts. You'll be fine, and my thoughts are with you.

  8. I know each of you have looked in your closet and thought, I have nothing to wear. Usually I can put together something each day...and I am pretty casual in my dress, but today I got stumped. I guess it is time to try to transition for the seasons and I need to get some long sleeved shirts, etc. Or maybe I'm just tired of the same ole' same ole.

What I'd really like is to be able to buy a whole new size...sigh. Someday!!

I have the same issue because I only purchase a couple of things to get me through. Like I have 2 pairs of jeans that I like, a couple of long sleeved shirts and that would be it for winter wear. I don't purchase a lot of anything because I know that I will just be another size in a couple of months so what's the point. When I purchased all my nursing scrubs, I bought drawstring pants.

  9. LOL, I never thought that much about the "coconuts", I guess I can always go to be with a bra but I'd be uncomfortable with a panty girdle on holding my big muffin top in.

I tease and say that for me to buy a bra I would have to roll them up to put the bra on. Or when i'm bent over and look down at them I feel like someone should just come and milk me...they look like utters...got milk...lol

  10. Back from Canada, then a local trial, then first day of hunting season in eastern part of the state and then a colonoscopy!! All is well!!

I'm getting on track today!! Well, in a weird way, the liquid diet for the colonoscopy has given me incentive. Don't ask me why but I think it is because I proved to myself, again, that I can eat according to the rules. And that is what I'm going to give a try here.

Also, a friend of mine has been on nutrisystem for 6 weeks and lost 20 pounds. So I was checking into it, about ready to order it and then had my aha" moment. Isn't our program all about portions, eating properly etc? Why don't I save the money and just eat what I'm supposed to eat. Our food is better anyway!! Duh..sometimes I get so crazy in my head, it scares me!!

Anyway, I'll check in more often and catch up on the posts...I just want to say, lets go gettem!!

Thank you for slapping me around and giving me my aha moment. I say that because I see all those camercials and think I should try that or order this, buy that,...You are so right we don't need all those things...we have the best thing ever, and sometimes I think we all forget to use it to our advantage. Really though thanks for waking me up.

  11. Yep out of the walking boot and even ran a couple days last week. Easy runs slowed down the pace and I feel great. Just now the weather here in Indiana is turning cold and I'm very cold blooded and hate trying to exercise let alone move when it's this cold. It must be my loose week because I'm eating all kinds of stupid stuff and have add a couple pounds...I call it Water bloat...it will be gone next week.

Thanks for asking about the leg, I'm fine just trying now to find my motivation, and trying to figure out how to place me back in the equation of life.

  12. Stess definitely affects my band. It is much tighter when I am stressed out then the only thing I can eat is junk food. I will PB almost every meal if I am stressed. I can't even eat when my children are around because that stresses me out too. So I pretty much have to eat all my meals away from home for it to go down good.

Also, I notice a lot of people drink the muscle milk Protein shakes...are you drinking the powdered form or the pre-mixed? I've tried the pre-mixed and it was terrible. But I figure if so many people are drinking it it must not be too bad.

I use the powdered muscle milk, I like the rtd (ready to drink) but it's to experiensive. It's not bad there are some flavors that I won't order again-I'm not a fan of the strawberry-it's got seeds in it, my daughter likes it though, but I won't drink it. The lite is 150 calories, the regular is 300. I use the regular.
