  1. Does anyone else have back pain post surgery? I’m walking a lot every 2-4 hours and sleeping in recliner. Less than 48 hours post surgery
  2. @The Preacher please please never stop or cease. It was precisely when @Frustr8 pointed me to your thread hours before surgery that the peace that surpasses all understanding stayed my fretting heart to go through with it. Your prayers are relevant and VITAL and made a world of a difference for me, and will continue to make that difference for so manu! So from the bottom of my heart, Thank you ??
  3. Very happy too, except they are being team too much right now. I want peace and quiet but they are loud and jumpy which makes me nervous. Loud cartoons and shrieks are not zenful at all
  4. Hello everyone just a quick note to say that I am alive and well. Surgery went well yesterday and save an uncomfortable night with a drain in my side and with a catheter and not being allowed to drink until the next morning when they could do a barium swallow I have done OK I think. I was discharged today and sent home I have been doing my breathing exercises and walking every hour or two for substantial period of time but still cannot get the gas out of that is trapped in my lower abdomen just wondering how long it took for all of you to be able to pass the gas out I know I will feel better if I do. I have also been able to drink quite a bit 16 ounces of diluted pear juice 8 ounces of Optifast protein and a cup of chicken broth which is way more that I could do following my sleeve surgery. I do wish I could eat, I miss eating even this close after surgery but I know I can’t maybe it’s just in the head Thank you all so very much for your encouraging words the prayers and well wishes prior to my surgery I needed all of it and it made a world of a difference in my confidence level going in.

  13. Thank you dear. Prayers your way for the smoothest surgery ever! Keep us posted! How are you feeling? Excited? Nervous? Ready?
  14. Grrr... just found out my surgery has been pushed back to from 11am to 1pm tomorrow. So more dehydrated anticipation for me. When you are thus close time stands still. Been dreading it so long I just want it to be over with already. I know I’m being Winnie but it’s how I feel
  15. Thank you so much. Yes, quite nervous and just wanting it to be behind me. I hate this dread. I know there is a lot of work to do afterwards. I’m older and wiser as they say...and I realize I need to walk my way through the gas and I need to keep my head focused and my heart prayerful, and work through each stage with resilience and resolve. It’s such a mind game.
  16. Best of luck to you! Can’t waut to hear how you do!
  17. Very Insightful! So glad this is working for you. 1 day more till my Sleeve to RNY on Wednesday. Nerves are kicking in...
  18. Ellie checking in, Sleeve to RNY the day after tomorrow!!!! Yickes!!!
  19. @jenn410 I totally understand and empathize. I have two little ones too! I keep saying... the best gift I can give them is that of a healthy Mama. But boy is it tough knowing in 2days I will willingly take myself in to be cut. Trying to pray through it and be strong here. It’s not easy.
  20. @MCarr sending prayers your way dear. I know the wait can be excruciating when you are so close. Mine is on the 22nd and I’m pretty antsy. My only solace is that this wait will soon be over and God willing, I can get on the other side to heal and loose fat.
  21. Wow, that’s amazing! You seem quite well prepared! Good luck with the picc line! Hopefully it’s easy and pain free! I was wondering how you were going to listen to music? Will someone put it on for you in recovery on your cell? Or blue tooth? Or earphones? I have music I would love to hear as well, but I’m thinking only when I wake and can use my headphones?
  22. @ncgirl77 you are definitely not alone in regain. My doctor said he’s seeing more and more Sleeve regains :/. An Endoscopy might give you further insight. I have 2 more days to go.... unbelievable. It feels like time is flying and standing still at the same time. But anyhow I sent you an inbox message as well so we can stay in touch
  23. Thank you @macadamia that’s an awesome explanation of how it works. 3 more days for me! I have not had a drawn out liquid diet like others. I start mushes tomorrow, clear liquids and bowl prep on Tuesday, anc Surgery on Wednesday! Crazy how they vary pre op. But my surgeon has been doing these over 20 years and says the liver shrinking diet yields inconsistent results... go figure :/
  24. Thank you sooo much for the reassurance and taking the time to write such a lovely post. It is so reassuring to hear back. Especially being so close. Every time I get a chime that I have a Bariatric post to check out my heart leaps and I’m encouraged I will keep you posted. Congratulations on your surgery dear and sending you health blessings and love on your weight loss journey
  25. Hello all, I'm going in for a Sleeve to Bypass revision in a few days. Dr. Alexander will perform the surgery at Pine Creek Medical Center in Dallas. Wondering if there are any other patients of his on here
