  1. To take the edge off I chew on cold crunchy juicy sweet melon and spit out the pulp and chase it with water. Gives me the hydration and chewing action. It can’t be worse than very diluted apple juice which is allowed in this phase. This is the freshest juice you can get, juiced by yours truly. sipping on optifast chicken soup. Praying it calms me down, cuz I’m so hungry I feel the agitation and well... not good.
  2. @Megan Sadler when can you eat again? What are your post op instructions?
  3. Hmmm... well enjoy your lack of hunger for sure! Maybe mine is head hunger? Idk how to even tell. All I can think about is food right now.
  4. It’s Friday and yes... I miss Friday dinner with family. I’m almost not looking forward to the weekend full of painful reminders of all the things I can’t enjoy
  5. Are you Sleeve or RNY? With my Sleeve I was not hangry. This RNY stuff is different
  6. Help. 9 days post op rny and I’m starving!!!! Can’t stand optisource and clear liquids, I don’t know how I can do another 12 days of this before progressing! I want to feel satisfied. With healthy food, not even bad stuff! I’m just depleted. Why why why do post op diets vary so much!??? Anyone else on 3 weeks clear liquids???? When could you eat and what did you start with? Hangry.
  7. What protein powder do you add to stuff? I have GenPro that claims 30g protein in one scoop, but... it tastes rather bitter to me
  8. Check out this video. Gym is not Recomended first 6 m after WLS https://youtu.be/aZrA4fgn_eg
  9. Amen @Christabelle thank you so much for this awesome compilation! As we keep praying for you and your upcoming surgery dear! Prayers for a safe journey to Dallas and a smooth preop, peace that surpasses understanding, all the support that you need, health and vitality in abundance and for God to touch the surgeon, the nurses, the Anasthesioligist, the receptionist and everyone who comes in contact to care for you. That your procedure is successful and recovery is speedy and pain free! And that your results are Glorious and even better than you could have ever imagined! Amen
  10. Oh that sucks... gosh, maybe some cranberry diluted? This whole malabsorption thing has me wondering if my thyroid meds etc are even working now... :/. A big thing we have done ladies and gents, and now we each have to figure out the true cost we personally paid for it... ok that sounded sad... must think happy thoughts must think happy thoughts...
  11. Try Monurol for UTI. Heaven sent! One dose powder in liquid and your bladder and kidneys will be nice and fluffy again. I’m on the road a ton, and that has saved me. A bunch of antibiotics? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
  12. I have no nausea. Hard to get nauseous on broth and popsicles. But I was thinking of investing in popsicles makers. Should be so easy. Cuz honestly... the WM ones are so boring. But with crystal lite etc, I can cook up some more exciting SF flavors? What do u think @Megan Sadler?
  13. You poor dear, that just sounds dreadful!!! Have u tried behind the ear patch? Worked miracles and this is the first surgery I woke with zero nausea! Are you taking anything for it? Are there certain foods that are more soothing than others? Hopefully you have at least lost some good weight to make up for some of your mystery. Hang in there!
  14. I got my SF popsicles from WM ice cream section. Maybe try there.
  15. I am 8 d post bypass and I just called to verify. No jello till 3w post op. Only clear liquids and a special kind of protein shake. Optisource as opposed to Optifast
  16. Back to...square 1 lol. So I’m 8 days out of RNY and I have finally shed the 9lb IV fluid weight I came home with post surgically. But hey that means everything from here on out is sweet fat melting loss. Bring it on!! Did an hours walk today (helps keep me from feeling down) and am hydrating pretty well. Drinking protein water with Aloe! Aloe will help me heal inside and is so soothing Still sour about having to be on clear liquids 2 more weeks, that’s just cruel, I mean doesn’t severe restricting of calories put one in starvation mode?, I could do eat a scrambled egg, but im gonna stick to the Doc orders and this too shall pass! I’m not backing down, even if I’m just back to... square One. “Despise Yee Not the Day of Small Beginings” (Bible)
  17. Hope you are stronger each day. Hang in there!
  18. When I had my sleeve drinking liquids was excruciating. But with the RNY, they seen to be going down better than before surgery! Crazy! So different
  19. Sheesh how in the world can you do all that?!? I barely have the energy to walk between bed and bathroom! Well mostly muscle memory from when I had the sleeve 3 years ago. The more you walk, the quicker and better you will heal. I mostly do it to keep depression at bay cuz all these changes on top of surgery can send you into a tail spin funk. So instead of focusing on what I can’t do (eat what I want), I focus on what I can do about it... sip n move
  20. You poor dear, hang in there! Lots of water or diluted cranberry might help. For me, a single dose of Monurol diluted in water and in a few hours I’m symptom free, ask about it! Vrs a ton of pills. It’s a life saver!
  21. I’ve been walking a ton, been on treadmill since day 4, I got up at 4 am and put in an hour slow walk, By 11am I took a 30 min walk outside, about to get on the treadmill (very very slow), drinking and peeing a lot too ,so yeah ... maybe my body is just in shock and hanging on to the fluids.
  22. This is exactly why I didn’t weigh myself until my first post op appt. i thought it would be like I was torturing myself to be going through the recovery/liquids phase and not be losing weight. That’s cuz you are smart and savvy :)). And patient too. So hats off to you
  23. Wondering how many of you wounded up with a drainage tube? I had one sticking it my belly for 6 days, they just took it out yesterday. wondering why some people get themwgile others don’t...
