Omg! That is insane!!! So you gained zero post surgery? Like no Swelling or IV fluid gain?

Omg!! I feel your pain... literally! Same day for me, Sleeve to RNY and Haital Repare. Getting Hydrocodone which works best on me (other stuff makes me dizzy) has been a HOT mess!!!! I had to go to ER next day to get a little. Indeed they act like it is suspicious I want it. Grrrr makes me so MAD!!! I get it, there is an opioid crises but I’ve been hacked up people!!! If you don’t perscribe it then, when do you perscribe it??? I now only take it at night to control pain and sleep. With only one dose left I’m livid doc office will not refill. Seriously!?!!?

Oh wow! I travel a ton for work and must start traveling again soon. Can you share which protein powder you are using? My post op has no minimum water or protein. Just 3 weeks of clear liquids, sip all day as much as you can tolerate instructions :/

Wondering if right post surgery you experienced any gain?

Oh and I’m a week out and still have a net gain of 3lb since surgery date. Better than that 9pb I gained after surgery but still... yeah, disheartening sitting on broth and still seeing gain a week latter 😕

So sorry dear. Did you get a Sleeve or bypass? I too wounded up back in hospital a week after the sleeve. It happens. I now have the bypass. It’s so frustrating I know, but keep your mind focused and your heart steady, it will all be worth it in the end. Sending you prayers and healing thoughts! Keep us updated

Omg @MargoCL I feel you! When was your surgery? I got Bypass August 22nd and I am on CLEAR liquids for 3 WEEKS!!! No jello! Yes I would give anything for cream soup, or cream of wheat or anything! I can have no milk and everything must be strained and water consistency!?!! Why oh why do the duets Varry so much!!!! I’m a week post surgery doubting heavily that I can do this for 2 more, it’s torture!? How can my body heal on broth???

I’m 4 days post op on clear liquids. Wondering when I should start supplements. Surely my body really needs it now more than ever.

Thank you @MargoCL I’ve had diarrhea since day 3, and have been able to pass gas and burp. I’m walking a LOT, even did treadmill yesterday. Very very slow of course but I’m getting in lots of steps. They finally too drainage port out today. I know it’s can’t be fat, so... just have to keep drinking I guess. Tired of broth, but alas, two more weeks of it for me

I’m losing pretty slowly too. I notice I lose a little better on days where I’ve had an hour of movement. The main thing people usually say is that building muscle helps. I need to start working on building some. Good luck! I’m 6 days post op with a net Gain of 7lb since surgery and living off of broth!!!! So disheartening. They say it’s fluids from IV, but should that nigbgave come off my now? Feeling rather lousy, and trying to keep my spirits up.

Sweetie you are Exactly as I was!! And I’m 5 days post op!!! This too shall pass. Say a little prayer, put it in His hands and breathe deeply. You will do great! This is a gift of another chance. Write down all the reasons you want to loose fat (from noble to vein), and read them over and over! Stay focused, tomorrow by this time surgery will be behind you. Blessings and love!

Hang in there dear, I was freaking out too, I blinked and here I am 5 days post op!!! You will be fine!! Pray to center yourself and realize that we are under His protection, you just realize it more during surgery. Everything is risky and every time u sit in your car you are taking a higher risk than surgery! Write down ALL the reasons u r doing this, emotional, physical, social etc and read over it multiple times to get your head in the right place. Then look at some pictures of success stories and get excited!! Prayers and love. Let us know how you do!

Yeah cuz I’m living and trying to heal off of broth and crystal light and a little optisourcr protein drink at a time my body needs nutrients most! I went into surgery with super low iron! And I’m suppose to eat like this for 3 weeks?? To add insult to injury I’m up 8lb from surgery date. IV fluids still on day 5? I’m drinking a lot and was in hospital less than 24 hours post surgery. Feeling rather sour about it all...

So you can take them right after surgery?? yeah not thrilled with post op instructions. Will call today. Had anybody used the vitamins patches,

Ok, so I’m 4 days out of surgery!!! Sleeve to RNY. Here is how it went: - surgery was seriously delayed, so I was so thirsty and nervous -I voiced this to the nursed - talking to them helped a lot - they put on a nausea patch, I truly believe this made a HUGE difference relaxing me - I had a list of questions so I remembered to ask it all - they gave me calming medicine into IV on way to OR and then I did not care anymore. - in OR I moved to another table - I remember them tying down my hands, but once again, I did not care - I felt heavy in my chest and... lights out! - woke to beeping sounds, I stayed very still to give my body time to wake - I prayed thanking God for brining me through and this centered me -it was hard to breathe so I asked for my CPAP and that helped a lot (they connected oxygen to it) - once again I stayed still with eyes closed (to minimize room spinning) somehow that helped - I heard them say I bled a lot, there was a drainage port on my left side and it was spilling over... not cool,but I did not look, I did not want it to make me queezy. - most pain and discomfort came from a catheter they left in ( I would later find out this was not necessary... stupid nurses left it in and had me walking around it all night!!!! So mad about that. Next day doc was like, why did they leave it in, they could have just called me.. I begged them too but they would not!!! - they also made me wait till next morning barium swallow before I could drink!!! Grrrr I was super thirsty - I got some anti clot shots in belly and they redid IV as vein had collapsed. Not pleasant - I got up to walk a few hours after I woke. Painful I needed help. But I refused morphen as it made me dizzy. - I walked about 6 times through the night, stopping to rinvr mouth with ice water to swish around. I fought hard for that privilage!! It helped -walking every 2 hours plus breathing excercises. I put all my might into that as I knew it was my ticket outta there. - I played gospel songs as I walked the halls - I think I did well cuz next morning around 9 amthry set me free to go home and recover. - some hydrocodone onboard and a pillow helped with the hour ride. - I would latter have to fight for days for a hydrocodone script!! If you can’t get it after you’ve been hacked up, when can you get it??? Crazy!!! T3 does not work that well on me. But that for another post hope this helps all awaiting this love and hugs,

Everyone is different. You can’t compare journeys. It took me 2 whole weeks to get rid of the 10lbs of fluids I gained at the hospital. Just keep doing what you’re supposed to be doing. It will come off Oh wow! So this happened to you too? Oh dear... not cool , sorry I had to deal with that. Are you happy with your progress since?

I’m drinking a lot though! Just wondering how soon I will be able to shed that. Like how long it took others to shed hospital fluid and begin to see results post bypass. It is So discouraging doing clear liquids with no results yet.

Ok, I’m 4 days past Rny surgery and have been on clear liquids under 400 calories a day and I have a 9lb GAIN since surgery?!? Can it really be swelling? Discouraging :/

I am 2 days out of Sleeve to RNY revision. Is the following normal? - my intestines are super loud. When I drink I feel it in my lower abdomen l?! - Warning: this May be too graphic, but I’ve had diarrhea through out the day. Went 5 times :/ not much but still watery. Is this normal ? 3. I was doing do so well with gas, walking a bunch etc with minimal pain, but this evening of day 2, all of a sudden I have a ton of chest gas. So much that I can’t sleep reclining and I can’t use my cpap as it’s blowing air which I feel is adding to the pressure...
