  1. Wow. You sure went through a lot and she sure did save your life, I am sure you are forever grateful. I am very happy you are doing well now and were able to move out of your sisters basement. I don't under estimate ARNP at all and I agree as you said that they have the authority to examine patients and write prescriptions and so fourth. My concern was that my insurance company is requiring a 6 month physician supervised diet and because the word physician was documented on the requirements had me nervous that it wasn't a physician but an ARNP. I hope I made sense this time lol I was in a hurry and wrote real quick my situation. I hope so thank you Thank you!
  2. During the 6 month supervised diet I saw my doctor twice then for the third visit I saw a ARNP and I didn't think anything of it as well as the fourth visit and now I'm worried that my insurance won't approve me because of it. Has anyone seen a ARNP for their supervised diet? I know I should call my insurance and ask but i'd have to wait until Monday to do that. I have so much on my mind and other things going on that I didn't catch that until now ???? I've already did the sleep study, barium swallow, had my cardiac clearance, turned in my 2 yr bmi history, on Monday I'm going to a 4 HR appointment that I paid for out of pocket to get phsyc clearance, nutrition class, etc. what is left are 3 more supervised diet visits and a written medical clearance from my doctor.
  3. hi Shelly check your inbox when you get a chance
  4. Wow, wow, and did I say WOW? You look fantastic!!! Do you have any before photos? Great job pretty lady
  5. I'm 5'2 and hoping to be sleeved between February and May .
  6. Thanks Dub! It sure does feel like forever from now especially not knowing a specific surgery date but I now believe as you said that once the surgery is done I'll look back and laugh . Have you had the surgery already?
  7. Thanks for the words for encouragement Sal as well as the two ladies before you. I should have read this post you replied to before asking questions from the private message lol. You sure have come along way and you guys are right that I need to be more patient. Good things do come with time.
  8. Thank you for replying to my post. I live in Florida and I have amerigroup through Medicaid. My bmi is 55 and I have hypertension that is controlled by two medications. I am learning a lot of different things too which is awesome. That's good that California changed from 6 months down to 3 months.
  9. I guess I was frustrated because I'm cleaning and 15 minutes into it I had to sit down because my feet and back were hurting. ????????
  10. I already got the referral from my pcp for weight loss surgery, (sleeve) I met with my surgeon, I started my 6 month supervised diet with my pcp because that's what my insurance requires, (crazy) and I did the barium swallow test the other day. I have a couple of other things to do with no problem but I'm so upset that I have to do a 6 month supervised diet when the past 5 years I've struggled big time with my weight. Does anyone know if there is a way around it? I really want to have the surgery in February vs May or later. As the days goes by I get more anxious. I did a lot of research about this surgery and I feel ready. I'm 5'2 and carrying around this weight is tough! ☹ I guess I'm being impatient.
  11. Wow! Gorgeous! I am so anxious to get approved for surgery! I'm still doing all of the requirements needed by my insurance company. Today I did the barium swallow test icky!!! I have other stuff to do too. The one thing I'm not happy about is the 6 month supervised diet
  12. Denied sleep study test to be taken in the hospital*
  13. Yes. Because I am obese people think it's okay to be disrespectful and rude to me. I don't take that crap though but it happens very often. I guess slim people think it's okay to be awful because the over weight person "doesn't respect" themselves. Before becoming very obese I was treated nicer and with more respect but now after having 3 kids back to back and packed on the weight I am 50% of the time not treated so nicely by both men and women. A lot of my "friends" started being distant towards me and once I have the surgery and they decide to come around again..nope I don't think so. I'm supposed to have to surgery either in February or may. I am hoping for February ..it'll be a great birthday present for myself but of course it's up to my insurance. So far they denied my sleep study test because I'm not "sick enough" (I only have high blood pressure and bmi of 54) so I'll have to wait and see if I'll get approved to take it at home *fingers crossed*
  14. Good luck! I'll say a prayer and I'll be looking forward to read how you're doing
  15. How are you now? It's been a long time since you've posted on this subject. You look beautiful btw
  16. I'm curious if anyone has gotten pregnant after having the sleeve (2-3yrs later) and didn't have any complications during and after pregnancy
  17. That's great! When is your surgery date? How exciting! And thank you I have been reading a lot
  18. Thank you so much for your kind positive words!
  19. Hi Betsy. Yes, I'm going to have the sleeve. How old are you? I'll be 30 in February and I'm hoping I get approved by then as a birthday present to myself
  20. Hi Holly. Yes I actually met him this past Monday and they do take my insurance and have operated on many patients with my surgery. They said that I may have surgery either in February or May. I'm praying for February because it's my birthday month lol
  21. Hi! I'm from Tampa fl! I'm starting my mandatory diet Wednesday with my pcp and my surgeon thinks I'll have my surgery either in February or May 2016
