I live in Tampa Florida but my procedure will be done in Plant City, FL. My surgeon the head surgeon and he will be using the da Vinci robotic device for surgery. I'm very confident in my surgeon but I'm still scared. I keep telling myself that the good outweigh the bad and the longer I remain morbidly obese the sooner I may die and not see my three small children again. My pre-op appointment is on July 25th unless there is a cancellation and the lady who I spoke with said my surgeon is really good with setting appointments two weeks after pre-op appointment so we'll see once I see him on the 25th. I met the all the goals and requirements in April, and they were already booked until August! Apparently the surgeon doesn't have many surgery days. It's been a long wait trying to stay good! I started this process October 2015. When I completed the steps that were required by my insurance company and my surgeon then my surgery packet was submitted to my insurance company..it took a week and a day for an approval. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think you should have a sleep study done just in case. Ask to have an at home sleep study. I did because it was more convenient for me and it's cheaper for the insurance company. I have sleep apnea and I got a mask that was comfortable for me (nasal mask) I didn't like the other mask that covered nose and mouth I felt like I was suffocating lol. Family is messy. I've had family (my children's family from their fathers side) say that they hope that I stay fat or that I'll just gain all of the weight back after surgery.
