Wow molly. I too was surprised I got a date in early May. When she called to schedule I was thinking it would be in July or something. I'm kinda glad I didn't know they submitted to insurance and I was waiting to be approved lol. I would have been a nervous wreck!!

Yeah I have all that scheduled. I was already authorized for surgery.

I just got the call my surgery is May 10th. I didn't even know they submitted it to insurance. Woooooo.

I met with my sleep doctor and she said she wont clear me for surgery for 3 months!! She wants me to use my sleep machine that long!! I pick it up next thursday in tri county. UC WLS said 30 days so I don't know. And if they are already scheduling out 2 months I'm doomed. I'm just so frustrated.

I'm still here. I had my sleep study last week and now I see the sleep doctor next Thursday to get my c-pap. Then I meet with Ivan to coordinate with my doctors for my medications and I'm under the impression after 30 days on c-pap I can get a date of I'm approved.

Thinking of you molly on your surgery day. My sleep study is Thursday then I see the sleep doctor on March 3rd, wear the CPAP for 30 days and then I'm cleared for surgery. Wooo.

I mean I get that from my husband too. "*IF* you get the surgery this and *IF* you get the surgery that." It's gonna happen. I may be delayed a bit due to health problems... but it's happening! I think that's how he copes with it.

Yaaaaaay Molly!! I unfortunately am still on pause with my back, kidney and sleep apnea problems. It's been.... annoying.

3rd back surgery coming up for me. Right now I can't walk without a walker. Probably going to get fired at work due to missing too many days. I was in the hospital a month ago for kidney failure. Joy. Wish I had short term disability insurance.

Wow that's totally crazy they can't make a decision on the first two you did! Did you ask why they can't? That's horrible they're making you do this again. I'd be mad too!!! What made you fall in the shower!? Did you lose your balance or pass out? Are you aright? When were you planning on getting surgery? I have back problems and nerve damage in my leg from a spine injury in a car accident. I was supposed to have surgery 11/23 but the sleep study people dragged their feet. No I'm looking for late February if I can get this lab test done and fitted for my c pap soon.

Aren't you supposed to eat every 3 or so hours anyway? That's what my surgeon told me.

When I have to pack a shake I get a ready made shake (I use premiere protein) and freeze it over night. By the time I get to drink it its thawed most of the way.

My scale broke at home. I was weighed at the hospital yesterday and was 301 but I just don't believe that number. I kinda wanted to puke.

Still waiting for my lab sleep study. My insurance wants ANOTHER home study even though I've a ready done two. I'm about to just self pay the sleep study and get it over with. I fell in the shower yesterday and really jacked up my back some more. I pulled the curtain rod down with me and tore up the wall. It was pretty dramatic.

I'm at the DMV renewing my expired drivers license. After surgery did you guys change your drivers license?

I was a social worker at a foster agency. If people were having surgery or developed serious health problems we took them off the list until they recovered. It wasn't fair to the kids or the foster parents to place while they were recovering.

I have no updates but I'm feeling better about it all today. Thanks guys.

I'm hoping that my surgeon is consulting with my nephrologist. I'd like to talk with them together but I doubt that's possible. My PCP just quit his practice so I don't feel like I have anyone truly on my side. He was my doctor for almost 4 years. He was a great advocate. I know there is a patient advocate for the Bariatric center but she NEVER calls me back or replies to my emails. I've had to call 3 times to see if they received my note from my psychiatrist back in October. Still don't have an answer. Called on 11/16 and 11/23 and still no response. I feel alone.

I'm done. I think I've come to the end of my journey. So I haven't weighed myself since after Halloween. I had lost 13 lbs in 2 months. I got off my diet when I got really sick and was in the hospital for kidney failure. Was told not to drink Protein shakes because my kidneys can't handle the protein right now. I couldn't really exercise, I was a mess. I weighed in at 296 today. I'm back at my starting weight from September. My heart sank. My stomach feels like it's going to fall out of my butt. It took more than 2 months to lose 13 measly pounds and I gained it all back in 3 weeks. I weighed in at the hospital and my doctor said the weight gain could be Fluid retention because I was all swollen. The swelling has gone down immensely and I'm still at a high weight. So I'm just a failure. What's going to happen if during my 6 week Protein shake diet my kidneys fail again and I can't use Protein Shakes? My nephrologist said I will be ok to have surgery and if I have to I can probably push the diet a little sooner to foods but still. I'm a wreck. I'm really scared.
