  1. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm only one month out so it will be awhile but I love popcorn and just wanted to know whether a small portion can be reintegrated back into my diet down the road.
  2. Me too (single mom, living in Seattle, work weekdays, that is). @@Camber, weekend late mornings work well for me. I like the idea of meeting for broth (Panera or pho). Yay! Weekends work best for me too or any weekday after 0730 pm. I love pho too!
  3. Hi AC. Who did your surgery? How are you feeling? I also live in Federal Way and just had my surgery June 20th. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App Hi, ACJordan! I hope you are doing well. I live in Edgewood and take my kids to school in the Federal Way area. Maybe we'll have enough people in this area that had surgery in June to form an unofficial support group! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App An unofficial support group would be great!@@ACJordan, I was at St. Francis too! Every day I seem to feel better. My biggest problem now is the soreness and fatigue but I know that will get better with time. Kadie777 and ACJordan perhaps we can meet up on a day we are all free and feeling good? Hilariously, I can't think of anywhere to go. Whenever I meet people it is almost always at a restaurant of some sort. I can see a lot more is going to change than just my weight, lol! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App I know I always meet at restaurants lol. But, Panera will make you a cup of the broth from their delicious chicken noodle soup!

  5. Hi Camber, I have not attended a support meeting but am considering it. I really like Kristin and she runs them I believe. Camber, what date did you do your pre-op group meeting with Kristin? My preop meeting was May 16th. I'm going to the next support group. I've heard good things about them from Kristen. I'd love to meet you! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Can you remind me when the support groups are scheduled? I think I had my preop meeting on May16th as well.Lol, really? I wonder if we already met! The next support meeting is this Monday, June 27th at 6pm. If so, I was the blondish women, mid40s.Yes that was me! Well we have met before. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Haha! That's so awesome! I didn't really look at your photo till now but yeah I remember you! I'm so glad that you are doing well post-surgery. Did you find a Protein drink that was not so sweet? I think you had mentioned you don't like the sweet protein powders. There were two others at that meeting and I hope they are doing well. I will try to make a support meeting but it is challenging on Mondays bc I work till 600 pm and then have to pick up my dogs.I found a sweet one I liked. Were you the one that recommended GNC? I like their Peanut Butter and chocolate shake. I also got a decent chicken broth protein supplement. Let me know if you can ever make it to a support group! I'll look for you. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App I'm glad you found some you like. No I don't think I had recommended GNC but I've got good powders from similar places, eg super supplements. Did you get the unjury chicken broth protein? There may be some Monday's when I could leave early and I'll let you know if I plan to attend!
  6. Sorry I missed this! Congrats on getting your date for surgery scheduled!

  10. Yeah I totally agree. I would rather have someone who is more thorough and that is exactly how Dr Srikanth is. He is very friendly and funny. He and Kristen are very nice and caring.

  12. So glad to hear! It gets better each day!
  13. Great advice! I wish I had been given the option of Emend! I totally agree with focusing on liquids versus protein initially. sugar free Popsicles are lovely once the nausea goes down.
  14. Feeling any better? Did you get through the CT and GI swallow tests?

    Best Tasting Protein Shake

My favorites are Chike coffee Protein, ON Gold Standard Mocha Cappucino, Syntrax nectar Fuzzy Navel and Kiwi Strawbery, and unjury chocolate. I also keep Premier shakes on hand for grab and go, as needed, and I like their chocolate shake. Also, I just got GENEPRO which is flavorless and can mix with any drink or food.
  17. Hi Camber, I had severe nausea as well. It lasted about 36 hours following the surgery for me. I couldn't keep anything down during that time. It will get better. Hang in there! I lived on Popsicles after the nausea went away for a couple days.
  18. I like optimum nutrition gold standard mocha cappuccino, syntrax nectar fuzzy navel and kiwi strawberry, and chike coffee protein. You can buy samples from Nashua nutrition website. I also have genepro which can be mixed with other beverages or soft foods.

  20. Awesome! Once you are able, let us know how you're doing! It is common to feel nauseous after surgery, but keep in mind that it is temporary!
  21. Yeah I binge watched a show while waiting as well. Did they take you back yet?
  22. Yes, dr. Srikanth in federal way Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Good luck today to both of you! Camber it is a wait in the waiting room. Did you bring some things to do? Do you have a support person there?
  23. He wanted me to lose 25 lbs before surgery and reduce stomach cavity density so I was on a low carb diet that included phases of liquid diet. 10 days before surgery was a clear liquid diet in order to reduce size of the liver. I had the following test before cleared for surgery: EGD, abdominal ultra sound, bone density, full labs, psych eval, GI swallow, and cardiac clearance. Thanks for the details! I found out my insurance will cover 100%! Still have to do 6 months of supervised diet though.Oh man. 10 days of clear liquids before the surgery? How hard was that? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Awesome to hear your insurance will cover! Clear liquids prior to surgery was very difficult for me. I hated it. I'm still on clear liquids plus Protein drinks but it's much easier after surgery!Just curious, do you know if Dr. Srikanth used the robot to perform your surgery or just traditional laparoscopic? I'm trying to decide between Dr. Houseworth (franciscan @ St. Francis) vs Dr. Srikanth. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App He used robotic. Awesome!Hi! I'm in the Tacoma area and I'm going in on 6/22 to have my vsg done by Dr. Srikanth. I'm glad to hear things went well for you! I'm getting nervous now that it's getting close. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Hey! Best wishes! It will go great!
