  1. I wish I was the same as you guys, I'm convinced that I can eat way too much. I'm 5 weeks post op and can pretty much get a cup of anything in. I wish I could only get a couple of spoons in, it will increase as the swelling subsides and given time. I'm just concerned about how much I'll be able to eat in the future if I can get a cup in now !

That's pretty much how I'm feeling right about now.

  2. So I had surgery almost a year ago and I'm only down 60 pounds. I do eat appropriate but for the past two months my exercise has decreased tremendously dude to a knee injury.

    Day of surgery weight: 259

    Today 198

I'm only 63 inches and yes I know we can't compare our journey to anyone else's but it's discouraging to read that someone had surgery this past March and is 80 pounds down and I'm almost a year out and barely at 60.

I'm sure there is more I could be doing and would love some advice. My one year date is coming up and I would love to be at a total of 75 pounds down but am aware that's probably impossible. When I asked my surgery how much I'm expected to lose she said between 75-80 pounds which would still leave me in the overweight category but not morbidly obese.

Any corrective criticism and advice would be helpful.

  3. I think maybe @@AvaFern said it best (except I have never been able to do a cartwheel and not likely to try now! :D ). Mostly I cannot quite wrap my brain around it, but that is partially due to the denial I lived in that I actually weighed well over 300 pounds. Somehow, I just never really saw myself like that - and because I avoided pictures - I never had to see myself like that. I honestly think that only in the last 15 pounds or so have I really started to notice how much easier things are. I mowed the lawn last week for the first time in a few years and realized when I was done that I wasn't dying. Seriously, I used to have to come in after that and take a nap after lying on the floor for an hour to recover. I went for a 2 mile walk (in 35 minutes) with my skinny sister last week and realized at the end that I kept up a conversation and wasn't winded at the end. I went to get my haircut yesterday and used to, I could barely fit in their chairs. Now, I have LOTS of room on either side of my legs. (I have lost 10 inches from each thigh! How in the world did I fit in anything before?!)

I remember when I first joined this board last year and saw all the massive losses, I thought there was no way I could possibly do that. And then even after surgery and I was (only ;) ) loosing about 10 pounds a month (instead of the 20+ pounds some people say they lose), I thought "man, I am never going to get that small". And here I am 10 pounds post-op only 15 pounds from goal and 15 pounds to losing 150 pounds. (I lost about 27 before surgery but trust me those 8-10 pounds a month or 2 pounds a week add up.) Just cannot wrap my head around it.... I texted with the medical assistant at my surgeon's office (who is someone I have known for 35 years but lost touch with and had no idea she worked for this surgeon or was even in the medical field when I walked in to that office last January - but I digress). Anyway, I texted her yesterday and told her to tell the surgeon that I had beat her goal of 200 pounds and was down to 189. Her response was "WTF?! Are you eating?!" Um, yes. Yes, I am. :) I'm just following the rules.

Ok, so I think I got totally off topic. How does it feel - FREAKING FANTASTIC!! Now excuse me while I am off to a "normal" (non-plus sized) clothing store for the first time in 30 years (oh who am I kidding, first time in my life!). I am able to fit in to XL tops and all the pants at Lane Bryant are now too big. I am actually sort of anxious about this venture.... wish me luck!

PS - Just realized this was sleeve board not general. Just wanted to clarify I had bypass, but my 134 pounds still feel just as good. :)

This gave me hope. I'm seven months out and only down 57 pounds and losing faith.

  4. So I haven't had a single day of heartburn or acid reflux until three days ago and it's so bad that when I drink Water it burns to go down. For some reason it started after I took a antibiotic, it had a hard time going down and took a lot of drinking to finally get it down.

Seems like more things are starting to get stuck going down. Any idea what's going on?

  5. I only drink my Protein shake for Breakfast ...

    lunch is a P3 ...

    snack is peanuts ...

Protein Shake on the drive home ...

dinner is meat of some sort ...

snack is either a SF fudgesicle or 1/2 of a Protein Bar ...

and lots of Water of course!

that is pretty much it for me ...

too scared to venture to new foods right now ... did that a couple of times and didn't feel the best afterward ...

so i'll stick with what I know for now :)

    How far out are you?

  6. I'm so happy to finally have hit another milestone in my journey, being able to cross my legs was probably my most happiest next to this one.

I however sometimes get depressed that I'm almost six months out and have only lost 50 pounds. I do not compare myself to other sleevers, I'm just more so disappointed in myself because there are days when the wrong items go into my pouch and this mostly happens right before my period when pmsing.

Besides that I am still always really tired and fatigued but have upped my Vitamin intake in hopes of gaining more energy and I do eat right majority of the time but after work most days I'm just beat.

I don't have a lot of loose skin due to slower weight loss but I'm starting to wonder if I'll continue to drop.

My next goal is to get under 200. Here are my current stats:

    Surgery Day: 259 September 1, 2016

    Current Weight: 209

  7. I'm so glad I read the advice on here. I'm feeling a little down because I do Water aerobics for 60 minutes, jog in the Water for 30 minutes and do 100 sit ups Monday to Friday and I'm at a stall for the last month. I've lost 98lbs since I had surgery on 4/29/15. I really push myself and I don't get on the scale a lot but when I do I want to see weight lost. I figured all of the work I'm putting in I would see a difference. I'm not going to give up. I'm just glad I got on here and read what people were saying. So thanks everyone

If you've upped your exercise check your calories, too little can mean stalls just as easily as too much.
I'm not expert but 98 pounds seems awesome!! I've stalled for two months with a total of three pounds lost but I also wasn't doing things how I should of been. We have to acknowledge the role we play as well but from reading a lot on here I think stalling is normal

  8. I drink Fiji or Voss Water because of the silky smooth texture. No two waters are alike.

I tell my husband this all the time but he swears all Water taste and go down the same. My favorite water is penta, it's a little expensive but taste great and goes down smooth.
LOL mine says it taste the same also and tell him it does not. I cannot drink Dasani as I taste all the minerals in it and it makes me nausea. I am going to have to try Penta.
Try it I'm sure you'll love it!

  9. Yeah this is very discouraging as I'm only four months out and have stalled over a month but I'm not exercising daily and spent the last week consuming to much wine but I was stalling prior.

hello I'm 4 months post op and been stalled over a month next week on the 29th will be 2 months stalled , how much have you lost so far, I'm so discouraged
47 pounds total might be a little more as I weigh in today. The more frequent I eat and move the more the weight comes off but traveling recently didn't help my stall because I ate whenever and drank wine a lot. Now I'm back to my normal routine.
