  1. Update - down 38 pounds total, 19 since surgery. I started the week off, switching to puréed and although I food prepped and thought I was ready, my tummy said no. Tuna and received beans were a definite no and everything else other than yogurt has given me extreme acid reflux. Called the doctors office and was told again that I should not be experiencing this since I had a hernia repair but I digress. They put me on nexium twice a day, which has apparently not kicked in yet and I ended up choking up foam yesterday at work, which I read is gerd. I'm so annoyed with not being able to eat but have switched back to protein shakes since they go down well sigh. Clothes are fitting better and my scars are trying to finally rid themselves of some of this surgical glue. I have found that I am a daily weigh person but haven't decided if it's best or if I should switch to weekly. I seem to average about a pound a day but as many others, I am impatient[emoji16] I know I didn't gain the weight over night but I sure do want it to come off over night heheheheheh I really can't wait until I am 100% as I am so ready for some extreme working out [emoji123]???? whelp that's all for now Tracey - how was surgery? I pray all is well and you are walking and sipping away [emoji16]

Hi Team, so glad to see that everyone is doing well. Congrats TxJP on the 22 pound lost [emoji322][emoji322][emoji16] ElChris - I am a major slide sleeper and when I couldn't sleep on my side I was miserable. Try placing a pillow under your body on the side you sleep on to relieve some pressure. I am now able to comfortably sleep on either side, I just have to be careful when I get up as I have a burning pain sometimes under the larger incision Nlo or MxKitty - there is an actual chicken broth protein from Unjury, I purchased it prior to surgery but can't even drink it now - if one of you want it, it's all yours MxKitty congrats on the 18.4 pound lost, I experienced the monthly gift last week and it was no fun [emoji57] also congrats on the new permanent addition to your family, she is a cutie. I am sure you and your wife are ecstatic Losing lily- I can't eat eggs into week 5 and tuna did not sit well with me, so I'm a little jealous [emoji51] congrats on getting your staples removed (ouch) I have returned to 2 shakes a day as I was not getting in all my liquids and protein and food is not sitting well in my tummy. It feels like it gets stuck and the other day I literally started spitting up foam, which I'm told is gerd. Not very happy as I had a hernia repair, so the acid issues shouldn't be there but the doctors office told me to take nexium for a month, so we shall see Happy pre-Friday all

Diet belle- sorry to hear that you are not feeling 100% sending well wishes your way. I've read that some won't be able to feel a full point initially because we are not on a normal diet yet. I would track what I eat and continue getting in what you can prior to throwing up. Basically stop before that happens ElChris - you are on a roll, keep up the good work. I can't have eggs until week 5 [emoji22] Positive I am down 17.2 since surgery and 36.4 since the pre-op diet - good job to you....I'm trying to be patient with the numbers but it sure is hard not wanting to have lost more - but I'm happy for a consistent loss

Nlo127 - I just started puréed today and I so miss sushi Positive - I'm glad that you got an answer from the doc and hopefully this will give you some relief So today was puréed and it didn't go as planned this far. I was nervous so I stuck with a Protein Shake for Breakfast and brought my tuna and a yogurt for work - lets just say the tuna was a big no Bueno, it gave me awful reflux at work, which is super embarrassing. The yogurt went down easier so yayyyy and I'm going to try my ricotta bake for dinner. Is anyone tracking their calories? I'm using my fitness pal and if I could get everything down, I will be over 500 calories and at about 65 Protein, guess I will try again tomorrow MxKitty - you seem to have the food thing down

MxKitty - thanks for sharing your food success - I have some banana or fruit ice cream maker in my cabinet, I wonder if that will work [emoji848] I do like Eggface blog and made a Ricotta bake last night, which according to my wife smelled delicious and I'm excited to try tonight. Positive - I'm so sorry you are in a lot of pain and having reflux. Unfortunately we're still in a healing phase and may feel discomfort, I too have a sore area and according to the surgeon it's the stitches healing [emoji849] the acid reflux is no joke and I experienced it badly one day, I am on Protonix and started back taking it to ensure that it doesn't happen again but I think it was due to something I drank- according to my surgeon some people experience the reflux up to 3 weeks and then it goes away, did you try something different from your norm food/ or drink? TxJP- you definitely need to try getting in your protein, try the fruit protein drinks syntrax or isopure - I'm sure that's possibly a reason for a stall. Congrats on the 20 pound loss and you will do great at work. The first day is a bit tricky but I found that getting back helped me feel better. Happy Margarita Day [emoji322][emoji322][emoji322] I guess I will imagine that my protein shake is a margarita LOL. I'm starting puréed so yippie, food prepped some mashed red potatoes with protein powder in them, some tuna (which I puréed) and the ricotta bake. I'm excited but scared but we have to move forward. Happy Monday all

    ...just got real!

So sorry to hear that you have a cold, that definitely is no Bueno. You seem to have a pretty good variety of food currently, so I'm sure that it won't be toooo bad prolonging the next food stage. It's great to have a caring spouse [emoji16] they can't help it, mine is the same way. Curious, on a good day how many calories are you taking in?
  8. Sending healing, no pain and hugs your way for your surgery tomorrow - congrats Thank you so much..my nerves are starting to shake. I think it cause I'm hungry this Water water water all day is hard going to take a nap to get mind off it ..help how did you guys get threw this.. Sent from my AQT80 using the BariatricPal App I didn't have to do water only the day before, I just couldn't eat past midnight. Just to be safe I ate my 4 oz meat and cup of veggies for lunch and did a shake for dinner and refused to put anything in my mouth past 8. It's almost over and will be so worth it Being hungry only gets easier from here because you initially will have no appetite and when it returns your tummy only will take so much yayyyyy for tomorrow
  9. I definitely will, thanks for the tip - one great thing for me is that I have never been a drinker when I eat, so hopefully I won't have a hard time with the time between eating and drinking [emoji120]

    Pain 10 days post op

I have the exact same pain but it is easing up daily. I will use a pillow against that area of my tummy when getting out of bed or up from a seated position. I don't have a problem walking and have returned to work which I think has helped with soothing the pain. I asked my doc and he pretty much said the same thing as yours, which isn't much - it's the most sensitive area and where a stitch is blah blah blah - sending hugs and no pain your way, I'm praying that as time passes it will completely disappear
  13. I was sleeved 2/9 and I just want to say that it gets better. Each day you will begin to feel better, try to get in as much Fluid and Protein as you can as it's definitely necessary. Your body may not like water right now, mine didn't - I ate lots of crushed ice and used poweraide zero.
  14. Jamie I have not tried any others but my spouse found cream of chicken, which I'm going to try for dinner. I will look up your other suggestions because I have struggled with the cream soups. It's funny how plans are different tomato soup is actually listed as an option for me - I wonder if it's due to me eating creamy tomato that I haven't experienced any issues with acidity. I actually start purée on Tuesday and will try tuna and the ricotta bake if you have any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated [emoji16]

Wow Jennaggie 34 pounds in 11 days, major congrats. Yes pants are going to annoy your tummy, my first day back I wore a dress but have worn pants and find myself adjusting them around my tummy. I too travel for work and am a little nervous but I think the key is planning - take Protein supplements with you Slimyrimshel- continue to listen to your body, if you're not ready to advance, don't. I understand being a little skeptical of tuna or canned chicken, but if you do decide to try it, just purée it with light mayo - that should make a softer texture I have no idea what my calories should be, my documents focus on protein as well but I am logging and average around 400-500 I think Positive how did the doctors visit go? I'm so glad that it's Friday, this week seemed extremely long to me. I just want to curl up and do nothing for a few days what's everyone doing this weekend?

    10 days post op

Can you eat tuna or chicken salad? They are both high in protein or try adding protein powder to your soups. I actually put a 30 G protein shake in my decaf coffee in the morning with a tablespoon of sugar free syrup, yummm
  17. Update: so I haven't weighed myself in a few days, thanks to my wonderful time of month appearing [emoji107]I guess it's a good thing since I will show a bigger loss (hopefully) I'm still on Full liquids and have eaten tomatoe soup everyday for lunch and I'm finally over it. I'm still working on getting to 60 grams of protein and 64oz of liquid but my little tummy is struggling. I currently am about 50 ounces of liquid and 45 G protein today, but I will get there. I'm starting to feel better each day, and the soreness in my side is not as intense - now only if I can get comfortable enough at night so I can get a good nights sleep [emoji120] Small NSV my clothes are getting tooooo loose, I find myself trying on multiple items just so I don't look frumpy and I put on jeans yesterday without needing to unbuckle them [emoji15] woohoooooo I must say I am proud of my progress and can't wait until I'm cleared for high intensity workouts [emoji123]????

Your scars look really good, I have that surgical glue on mine that doesn't seem to come off very easily Major congrats on going to puréed, I'm so ready for that stage but won't change over until next Tuesday but I'm already planning ahead Did you true tuna or the ricotta bake yet?

I was at about 1 pound per day but haven't weighed in a few days because of that wonderful time of month, which sucks. Cramps and surgery pain at the same time are no fun Jennaggie sorry you aren't feeling yourself, it will get better. Is anyone tracking calories per day yet?
  20. Congrats on your upcoming big day, your weight loss and having a normal blood sugar ???????? It's so funny how we prepare, I thought I over prepared. What I will say is keep in mind that your taste buds and sense of smell may change after surgery. I loved my sugar free Popsicle and stocked up on them but after surgery they were disgusting to me - I can't stomach them. I purchased things to prepare and found that I didn't like them but there's no way to know how your body is going to react prior to. So don't go out and spend too much ???? Fear is normal, but don't stress yourself you have this. I remember being in the OR and all of a sudden freaking out but then I was out like a light and only remember waking up in my new life ???? I am sending hugs and prayers to you for Monday-breathe, relax and enjoy the rest of the week getting your body prepared. Please keep me posted on your journey and thanks for reading mine. And feel free to ask me any questions along the way

So now you have me curious as to what happened at your 1 week check up? Please let us know if you feel comfortable. We are on day 8 post surgery and I've only lost 12 pounds. scale has not moved in last 3 days, which means I really must move more and get more steps in. So I have a new plan today: * Take all Vitamins * Drink 3 16oz bottles of Water * Walk 10,000 steps today If I do that with only eating less than 300 calories, the scale should move this week. That's the plan???? How is everyone else doing? Oh no I don't mind sharing - it wasn't anything that I'm doing wrong. My surgeon wasn't there, which was unexpected. I met with a surgeon that I have never seen after sitting in the waiting room an hour beyond my appointment. It just wasn't what I expected and I felt like his responses were general because he didn't perform the surgery. He didn't even know I had a hernia repair, really. He said I was doing well blah blah blah but I expected more ???? You are doing well on your weight loss, some people don't even lose 12 pounds so don't beat yourself up. Are you on full liquids this week? I am and have added creamy tomatoe soup to my diet, so my calories are slightly higher. Definitely listen to your body and don't over do it with the walking, I know we want the weight off but we didn't gain it in a day ????

So glad to hear that everyone is doing well I had my follow up today as well and although I wasn't pleased with the appointment, he was pleased with my progress. I also started full liquids today and had creamed tomatoe soup, which was so yummy and necessary- couldn't get it all down but it was awesome not eating broth ???? Has anyone started putting anything on their incisions yet or have an idea when we should start?
