  1. @@kvoneye it sounds like you are doing great! I am down 32 pounds since surgery which was October 8th. 53 pounds since highest weight. I feel great and almost back to normal as well. I just about did myself in last night with two little hot wings... Lol. It amazes me that I used to eat 20 at a time and still not think I was full!! I am back to work and a routine but I agree with you that it is time to add some exercise in. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!

  2. I am finally able to sit still a few minutes and catch up with the thread. How is everyone feeling? I am doing great. I am down 29 pounds since my surgery on October 8th. I know that sounds a little slow but as long as the numbers keep going down I am happy! Kev is doing great too. Since his surgery on November 12th he has lost 19 pounds. We went to Gringos Mexican Cantina for lunch today and ordered beef fajita nachos. They come 8 to an order. We had to laugh because he ate 1 and I had about two thirds of one!!! It is so fun to go enjoy the environment but not gorge on the food. We allow ourselves one restraunt trip a week where we are not super careful with our food choice. If we did not treat ourselves once in a while we would go crazy.

In other news I resigned my position as manager at the Spa. BEST DECISION EVER!!! Then I turned in my notice and leased a suite to open my own little nail salon. I named it 'Polished' and opened this last Tuesday. It turned out beautiful and I was very busy with clients my first week!! I feel very blessed! I actually love going to work again. I will be posting pics of my suite on my Facebook so any of you that are not on there feel free to add me. Edie091371@yahoo.com. or Edie Smith Steer. I have missed hearing from you guys and look forward to catching up.

    @@395Ron how are you?? @@thinner-me? @@60&goin4it ? @@irishaggie ? @nervousnana ? And everyone else I missed!!!

  3. @395Ron. . Sorry for the super late response but I am right in the middle of opening my own business and that has been all consuming for me. In answer to your question about my son Seth....he is 13, 5'6" and 230 pounds. I started him with a nutritionist a month and a half ago and at his 2nd visit two weeks ago he had lost 6 pounds. The nutritionist says that losing is not the huge goal but not gaining is! He should be around 6'2 so if he could grow into his weight that would be great. He is doing really good so time will tell!

Great news about your weight loss. Way to go!! Did you ever address the tremors with your doc and if you did what did they say?

Kevin is doing awesome and heading back to work on monday!

  4. @@395Ron I am so glad to hear that you are making daily progress. It sounds like you had a pretty good day yesterday. I can relate with the Water. I have so much trouble getting it in. Yesterday I did not even get 32 ounces. I just feel full and bloated all the time.

It is so nice to see your responses to the posts again. Have you had a chance to read back thru some of the older posts. We acquired quite the October group! And it is amazing that so many of us still actively keep this thread going! I find this group to be such a support and know I can come here and ask anything. It is amazing to me how perfect strangers in all areas of the United States and even the world can become such a part of your family.

I love that you had a pizza dream. Even your subconscious knew you could not have it and made you spit it out. When we are all eating regular food I will share a chicken crust pizza recipe that is bariatric friendly with you and the group. It is one of the first things I plan to make!

Well time to head to the hospital and walk my husband! Hopefully he comes home today as he is doing great. Our first night apart and I must admit I did not like it one little bit.

You and your wife are in my continued prayers and I know you are going to be walking circles around all of us in no time!!

  5. Well today is the day! I am about to take my husband to the hospital!!!! He has his surgery at 11am. I am so happy for him but I think i am way more nervous for him then I was for myself. My stomach has been in knots since I woke up. Can everyone please pray for a successful and complication free surgery. We have only been married 7 months and I just don't know what I would do if anything happened to him. I have complete faith in our surgeon but for some reason my nerves are getting the best of me!

  6. @@395Ron I cannot even begin to imagine how tired you are. But you also need to realize how strong we all think you are. A person of less fortitude who have given up long ago and yet here you are getting better each day. That makes you a role model. Don't look behind, only ahead and ahead is only better things. I am so happy for that you are home again and on the healing road.a year from now you are going to look back on this and know that it was all worth it. I personally am so glad that you are back,as I stated before our little group is just not the same without you. So keep getting stronger because we expect to keep hearing from you on a regular basis!!!

On a whole new topic, my hubby Kevin goes in for his surgery Thursday and I wish you could see what a baby thus big, strong man has been about this liquid pre op diet!!!! I am almost positive I saw him looking at our weenie dog, Gidgett, and drooling. I'm just glad there was no mustard in the house!! Lol.

  7. @@irishaggie I start "all foods today" but nervous so have packed all softs for my lunch...lol. I did have Jason's Deli broccoli and cheese Soup yesterday. Well about 5 bites anyway and it was delicious! What are you eating to get all your Protein in? Are you getting all your Water in? I get about 48 to 56 ounces of water a day and the I feel water logged. As for protein, I start off with a shake but then I just don't think I get enough from there.

  8. @@irishaggie what kind of Biotin are you taking? Is it a pill and if so are you having any trouble swallowing it? I am still a little scared of swallowing pills.

And I know what you mean about eating the same old things. We are going out to dinner Friday for Kevin's "last supper" (he has the sleeve next thursday) and I am so worried about trying to find something to eat. It will be my first time trying eating out since before surgery!
