Thank you. I appreciate it. I think you are right. Hopefully I know something by tomorrow afternoon.
Yeah, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I'll know what's going on. And I really like my Urologist!!

I'm so sorry to hear this - they may be worried about hydronephrosis. I'm so sorry about your competition, but your kidneys are more important. Hoping everything is OK! -

I have an urgent appointment with my Urologist tomorrow. They're concerned that I've gained 18 pounds in 5 days. So they're going to do an X-ray and run some tests.

Try not to panic. I'm betting most of it will be gone in a few days. Leave the scale alone for a couple days. For me, when the scale isn't moving I get super stressed out. So I just keep
Doing what I'm supposed to do and forget about the numbers. When I weigh again a few days later, all is well.

Oh wow I feel so bad for you. I agree that it is the Fluid from the hospital IV's but the timing really sucks. My Doc took me off my thyroid pills for a short time at 6 weeks out because the blood test came back high. I gained 7 pounds in 4 days. It is so frustrating when you do everything right, but you still pay the price. Hang in there! Long term this is just a speed bump.

when I came home from my second stay in the hospital, I was 12 lbs heavier than preop. All fluids & swelling, of course, as I was only in the hospital cause I couldn't keep anything down.
Overnight, nearly half of it disappeared. Truth.

Thank you so much for the response and explanation. I really appreciate it. Just hate that all of this had to happen right before my final weigh-in. -

Inflammation and all the IV fluids. I wonder how much kidney function reduces. That may also be why you're holding Fluid. Then there's the Constipation and slowwwwwww motility from anesthesia and narcotics. Our colons can hold 8-12 pounds of waste [emoji12]
I just posted on a vets thread about some of this.
Don't panic. It will come off when you start moving.
It's not fat. Promise!

Thank you for everything. And I'm so sorry to hear about your kidney stone ordeal, but Glad to hear your stent has been removed and you are on the mend. Hopefully I'll drop a bunch of Water weight once the stent is removed in
4 weeks.

Good job- you have been very successful! I gained about 7#from my kidney stone ordeal. Stent was removed 4days ago and I have lost 4of those pounds . I am pretty sure it's just w Water weight from the IVs, the meds etc.

Thank you so very much. I appreciate it! And you are so right!!! Once pain gets under control you feel like an entirely different person. Unfortunately I'm still struggling to get the kidney stone pain to a more manageable level.

I remember your preop posts. It's great to see you knocking it out of the park postop - rotten kidney stone nowithstanding.
I had a roomate overnight when I was readmitted. She had a kidney stone and hadn't slept in two days. She was getting huge doses of pain meds and was still miserable. The following morning, she had lithotripsy. She'd gotten moved postop to another room, so I stopped to see her on one of my laps around the floor. She was a totally changed woman with a HUGE grin on her face. Once you get relief from pain like that, it's life-changing.

I love your story!! Gives me so much hope. Im having my mini gastric bypass on April 19...revised from a gastric band.
Im terrified!!!
Im so afraid of what my social life will be. Will i ever be able to go out socialising with friends at restaurants again?
My band has caused so many problems over the years. I havent eaten a full portion of food since 2009 so im used to small meals.
Have you been able to eat normal foods yet?
My main motivation for surgery is knee pain. ..did you find it just disappeared as you list the weight?
Congratulations!
