Amen! I almost turned it to Diners, Drive-ins & Dives the other day and quickly remembered that was a no-no. ???? I know! Yeah and I love to bake around the Holidays so it will be hard this year! TV commercials are the enemy!!! Stay strong! I am proud of you!! Thanks!!

What helps us is watching everything a day behind. This way when we watch what is on our DVR we can just skip all commercials. But that often doesn't work. Haha!

My surgery is Dec. 7th. Just 8 days away!!

My husband is so supportive that we are on this journey together. He had his VSG a week ago and mine is in a little over a week from now. ☺️

I too was turned down by my insurance and have decided to do the self pay Mexico route. My surgery is 12/07. Really excited. But when insurance wouldn't budge I had to do my research on all my options. I didn't give up without looking into everything. Mexico was the best for me. No matter what you do, GOOD LUCK!!

I am on day 4 today. Been doing protein drink for breakfast. Protein chicken broth for lunch. Small salad with 3 ounces of chicken for dinner. I also try to have 2 snacks. One is a fruit and the other a sugar free Jello or popcycle. I seem to be doing well. I have only been hungry twice. I think what helped me was 2 weeks prior to starting the pre-op diet, I cut out sodas and began cutting back on food amounts. That way I didn't go cold turkey. I am so ready for this surgery! I think I am just in a place where I want this so bad that I feel I can do anything for 2 weeks. ????

Anyone ever tell you DO NOT go to Mexico? I just had a dietitian at a Bariatric Seminar freak out on me when I told her I was going to Mexico. I informed her that it was done through Bariatric Pal, and she looked at me as if I was crazy! She works for a Bariatric Center and didn't even know what this was. hmmmm She said I would be "butchered" in Mexico. I told her I had done my research and it is 100% legit and I am doing it. So my question to all of you, is who has completely freaked out on your Mexico Decision?

I am the same day and start my pre-op diet Monday as well. What is your pre-op diet? All liquids or low carb??

Just do your research. In the end you have to do this for you. Not anyone else. But I would advise to maybe message Alex about your surgeon. He knows a lot about the docs down there and can tell you if you are making the right decision with the doc you chose.
