  1. I have a friend like that he's constantly depressed and lonely but refuses to take psych meds to help with the depression. Refuses to see a doctor about his weight even though he's pushing 500 pounds and it would solve so many of his problems. Honestly I just smile and nod at this point
  2. I have a star wars Christmas tree with decorations to boot we didn't put it up last year but I think I'll put it up this weekend
  3. Honestly I wouldn't because your taxing your system this close to a major surgery and you need to be careful
  4. They can actually be harmful by removing too much water from your colon and dusrupting your gut flora

  6. I am addicted to soda and energy drinks. I've managed to cut out the energy drinks cold turkey but my vice is still soda I'm working on it
  7. I asked my extremely obese friend if he ever would consider wls and left it at that when I told him about my choice because I'm afraid I will lose my friend at the age of 40 due to his weight.

  9. i made the decision in July to start the process and i have to probably wait til march of next year to get my surgery but its ok i am learning quite a bit from my nutritionist so thats a plus

  12. I'm on bp meds and have been for about 6 months and I am a diabetic at the age of 24 so I'm getting the surgery to save my life I know its a hard road but I have to do something
  13. I'm blessed to have married into a very loving and stress free family but my blood family is very stressful and can only be taken in small doses
  14. If you don't tolerate anesthesia well or even if its a mild reaction ask for the anti-nausea patch they put behind your ear that you can wear for 3 days its amazeballs
  15. So far my husbands entire immediate family knows my dad knows and a couple of our close friends know I've gotten nothing but love and support and that is just awesome. My work family oddly enough is my husbands family long story there but there's only one person at the office that doesn't know but he's new and I don't know him that well and he's not family so he probably won't be told IMHO
  16. Ok so a center of excellence is a special designation a hospital gets for having a low complications rate with surgery. Some insurance requires you to use these hospitals because they are typically in net work and better than a standard hospital. I am getting bcbs anthem next year and they require a blue designation hospital so I am switching programs half way through
  17. i keep hearing this winter cloths summer cloths buisness and i never understood it i have one wordrobe i wear all year long yeah i put shorts away but other that that it never occured to me to have separate cloths for separate seasons i only have two weeks worth of cloths to begin with i have such small closets
  18. first call your insurance and see if you need a referal from your pcp to see the surgeon and if it needs to be a center of excellence if it neededs to be a center of excellence in my experince you can do your weigh ins with the nut because they will provide you with one thats what i am doing
  19. i notice even though i am pre-op i am having less then stable bowel movements and when i have to go its like right the hell now so i am not super excited for possible liquid diet or the many liquid phases after surgery because i might have to bring changes of cloths with me everywhere lol
  20. @@claddagh66 i think yeah it sucks but this practice is actually closer to my house and not in the city so i dont have to deal with all the crazy traffic and also the parking is cheaper i know thats weird for me to be excited about but i have little disposable income so any thing helps lol
  21. I am wondering about too much as well I can chug about 2-3 liters at a time but I'm still pre op
  22. Has anyone bought the p3 snacks after surgery they seem like they would be perfectly portions for post op folks I love them they have meat cheese and nuts and are super portable you can get them in bulk at bjs and the like
  23. I am pre-op as well and my approach to the holiday is always protein first then my favorite which is the stuffing and rolls and then pie this will be my last holiday season pre sleeve so I didn't go overboard and I lost a pound
  24. I'm still pre-op and I've only been married one year but my husband is excited I'm getting wls he's super supportive and very affectionate and loving
  25. I'm having my surgery in March of next year specifically because a its not the holidays b I work for a skeleton crew for a medical practice and its always all hands on deck and it will give me enough time to heal before my yearly family vacation
