  7. im still pre-op but so far i have told my hubbys entire family and some close friends and my dad and thats it everyone has been supportive but that was when i was considering sleeve now that i have decided on bypass only my hubby knows and i think it will stay that way for a couple of weeks until i can meet with my nutritionist and get a solid plan for nutrition after the surgery so i can reassure my loved ones
  8. you could ask a pain specialist for a bottle of biofreeze its basically iceyhot with just the cold but you can only get it through a physical therapist office or chiropractor it works wonders for my back pain and i have sciatica on both sides and 3 bulging disks
  9. hey newbie here and i have a question for the veterans about psych medications with bypass. my surgeon said i would not have any issues and i trust her but i want to get a patient perspective esspecially that first year did you have to lower or up your doses due to the absorbtion issues with bypass. i am maxed out on a couple of my medications so upping them is not an option i know when i go in for my psych eval i need to bring this up but i just am worried i will be dealing with wacked out meds along with the body changes that come with this surgery
  10. hi @mrsmickins i have a similar story to yours ive been battaling with pcos since puberty i was officially diagnosed in 2010 when i was 19 and i also have about 150 pounds to lose i dont have a surgery date yet because i have 3 more classes to complete and my psych eval along with chest x-ray and other tests oh and my insurance is switching first of the year so go me. but hey i would love to keep in touch you can message me on here i always respond to my messages or you can text me ill send you my number in a private message on here if you want
  11. i have not had bypass yet i would love to hear from some vets what to expect that first year or so esspecilly the healing phase because honestly up until this point ive been looking into the sleeve and now i am getting bypass so i am feeling like i dont know what i am getting my self into. how hard is it to get in the Vitamins and Water and Protein at first i have a hard time forcing my self to eat because of an old issue with bed
  12. i know for a fact that i will need to do something about my boobs and my tummy when all this is said and done and i am ok with that because its a small price to pay to feel sexy
  13. my surgeon said it would take 1 hour to and hour and a half for mine
  14. i haven't had surgery yet but i am worried that once i start losing it will be hard for me to stop ive wanted to be small my whole life that im afraid it will either ignite my bed or my bulimia
  15. my surgeons plan is 3 weeks of no starches and then clear liquids for 2 days which i am so digging because the previous surgeon i was with the plan would have been 2 weeks protein shakes only so the fact that i can eat real food i am totally happy with
  16. i have medicaid as my secondary so far they have given me no trouble and defer to my primary insurance for everything
  17. I was told for my height 5'3" that I would need 80 grams of protein minimum and over 64 ounces of fluids a day I have not met the nut yet but ill ask about carbs when I do
  18. Yeah you defiantly want to be on probiotics and use colace that combo should help
  19. My surgeon does a 3 week starch free diet before surgery and two days before only clear liquids not the worst thing I've heard at all
  20. I've always been a social butterfly my mother said I could make friends with the trees if I wanted I've just got a big smile and I love talking to people I love learning about people so I think this surgery will help me be more active with my life but ill still be a butterfly
  21. im just starting my journey towards getting rny and i gotta say now that ive wrapped my head around the concept im very calm i just cant wait for these next 3 months to pass with insurance requirements and doctors visits i have some stuff i have to do on my part including tracing down a 5 year weight history which might be hard because my insurance has changed a couple of times in the past 5 years but i cant wait till summer of 2017 when i can rock that 2 peice
  22. i found out that with my new surgeon i will get my date the last time i see her also my pre-op diet is very easy just no starches for the last 3 weeks and only clear liquids for the last 2 days prior to surgery i feel so blessed that i dont have to do weeks upon weeks of protein shakes yay
  23. maybe this is your bodies new st point after two years im sure you have gotten down your Protein Vitamins and exercise so maybe this is just where your body feels comfortable and honestly you look amazing
