How are all you have had surgery already?? I hope all is going well!!
Any tips for us remaining in September?
#6moredays #countdownto29th
Patience is key. I'm two weeks out. Last week I was lamenting not being able to have Water (it wasn't settling well so I was mostly hydrating with broth, G2 and sf Popsicles. Then I was able to have room temp water, a victory. And starting last night I was able to have cold water! I was silly to get hung up on it and think I'd never be able to have it again!
Long story short - everyday gets better! Be patient and kind to yourself. You'll get better and better each day that passes.
Also, walk, walk, walk as soon as possible after surgery as much as possible.

16 lbs in a week?! WOW! I lost 10 my first week. And I've been stuck on that same 10 since Tuesday, I'm getting frustrated. I know 10lbs is great in 11 days, but the scale hasn't moved in 5 days.
Anyhow, congrats!

It is so encouraging reading this thread, good luck to everyone that has had their surgery already and those that are coming up!
I am scheduled for the morning of 9/24, I had my initial consultation on 8/12.. this past month has been interesting and exciting to say the least!
I wish mine had gone so quickly! I went to the seminar in January, first appt in February, then had to go through all the appts and psych clearance, and then waited 4 months for approval! Finally had surgery this month. I wish I had been able to have this months ago, I've been so ready!

I had surgery Tuesday on Friday I had a sort of BM LOL - it wasn't solid (but it was exactly how my last few pre-op BMs were) and it wasn't a lot. I figure with his little I've ingested the last three weeks this is normal. Started my Multivitamin today. It was surprisingly not that bad.

Had Surgery Tuesday - ended up going to recovery around 5 pm, got to my room at 7pm. So much pain that night. Much better the next day - went home today. I'm in more discomfort today than I was yesterday, however, I haven't had any pain med's since around midnight last night. They sent me home with a perocet prescription but after surgeries I've had in the past, it made me very sick, so I'm avoiding it. Just went for a walk with my family. Trying to drink, drink drink.

My approval took 3 months, give or take a week or two. Don't dismay. I have Humana.

I am planning on 4 weeks, but might take longer depending on how I feel. I am a nurse and my 12 hour night shifts are hard! I a lot of lifting,
I don't want to tell many people. So far my husband, sister (who had a sleeve done 3 months ago), my dad and possibly my brother if he heard from my mom. I didn't tell him directly. I don't want to discuss it at work at all- I am concerned about judgements.. ???????? I don't know what I will do if people start asking me about what surgery or why I am becoming super skinny! ????????
I'm only taking a week or two but I sit at a desk, mostly.
I'm telling close friends and family, and I don't think I'll have a problem telling others. I did at first but then I felt liberated. Everyone where I work (small staff of 18) knows. It's easier because one of the ladies I work with, her hubby got a sleeve a couple months back.

How has it been ?
The liquid diet? Better than I expected. The first 3-4 days were the worst. It's getting better now. The hardest part is I'm a mom and I'm still prepping food for everyone else. Temptation everywhere! But I'm motivated by making sure my stomach and liver are the best they can be for my surgery in 9 days!
