I think this may be the one thing that sends me over the edge for having two surgeries this month. I am so tired of being fat. My kids at school (HS) never say mean things to me. They love me, and if someone says something borderline that kid gets it from the others. Guess I am used to being protected by the people that know me and love me. But in the "real world" I am not the well known/respected teacher. I am viewed as a cow. I can not have that. I don't want my baby to be ashamed of me.

I know I know... I am there with you. First week I gained weight because I mixed my Myocel with Soy milk. You would think that would be good for you, but was not good for me. Now I mix with Water or coffee and have lost the 5 lbs I gained. My doctor allows me to eat low carb, but I have restricted myself to one SMALL meal a day around 3 pm. Trying to get my liver in shape. I am with you! You are not alone!

What would you do? One surgery or two?
Poodles replied to Poodles's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
127 views and only 12 opinions? Now I know you guys better than that. The poll won't tell your name, I won't hunt you down. My hubby says that I should not depend on you guys/gals and should make my own decision. I say... please tell me what to do. -
What would you do? One surgery or two?
Poodles replied to Poodles's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My general surgeon says to have the lap band and come see him on the 15th, then we will judge the situation. Says losing weight would help the hernia. My hubby says the only question to answer right now is do I want the lap band enough to have two more surgeries. I have MANY co-morbidities. I want to get off all the meds I am on. I want the lap band. I don't want two surgeries. I so wish Dr. B would/could fix them both. I have a 7 year old at home for summer, and don't want to be down for the whole summer. It is not fair to him. Also THREE surgeries in THREE months can not be good for me. I have cried and worried about this all night. I have been on this lapband thing since September... and have seen the progress of people banded since then. I NEED that success. But hubby says the hernia MUST be fixed. That is his #1 priority, since he spoke with the surgeon after my appendix surgery in April. Damned if you do... Damned if you don't... seems to fit this situation, I think. -
I will be banded on 6/5/06. Not doing so hot on Pre-op diet, as I have gained 5 lbs... guess I need to change my ticker back...

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
Poodles replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well according to my doctors scale today I am at a 53.4 BMI. Guess this is where I belong hugh??? I am UP to 304 from 296 back in September. Not too bad for six months of "last meals". But what really gets me is that I am UP 5lbs since I have been on Myocel!!! CRAZY!!!! Will be banded Monday... I hope... I may run away before then... -
My man wants to be a house hubby. I would so let him if we could afford it. He keeps the house so clean when he is off of work. Told him I would love to have him stay home, but we would have to live in a REALLY CLEAN SHACK!!!!

DUH... I'm Stoopid... Can you help me understand this Pre-op thing?
Poodles replied to Poodles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok.. so I have GAINED weight on Myocel. I guess mixing it with Soy milk is not a great idea. Literally gained 5 lbs... I have less than a week now to lose 10 lbs. Strictly going to Water or coffee only with the Myocel and will only eat one meal a day... think that will work. HOLY COW... I will be banded on Monday! -
By popular request. A thread dedicated to the Superman of Daddy's... SuperDaddy... Let the admiration begin...

So from what I am reading, anything you put in a blender and Water down well qualifies as liquids, right? So my cucumber soup will be ok, and I can blend up any Campbells Soups and be A-OK? I have Jello, broth, yogurt, stuff to make my cucumber soup, babyfood, baby Cereal, etc. Would the baby food/yogurt be mushies or liquid if I water it down some more?

Nykee... I really hope I never piss you off....

I never want to hurt my baby. That is the main thing. I can not believe that they would do that in front of him. He is a chubby little guy too, and he gets some comments at school. I try to tell him that these things don't matter and to ignore it, but I can't seem to take my own advice. I am not a violent person, but I would have hurt them if my son was not there. I would be in jail right now, 'cause this cow is a carnivore.

Ive got a surgery date but.........
Poodles replied to sarabluebell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know how you feel Sara. I am scared too. As each day passes, I worry about things... and want to cheat on my pre-op diet.... and want to cancel the whole thing. But then I come here and remember that this is my last hope. I am unable to take care of the weight myself, so I must get help. I am doing this for my own good. For my quality of life. For my family. I am sure you have many reasons too. Yes we are scared... and we will have some pain/discomfort, but I bet that first 50 lbs down will make it all worthwhile. When is your date? Mine is June 5th. Just thinking about it makes me scared, guess I need to read more threads. Maybe I will start with the before and after pics. You should check those out too. Good luck! -
Ok, so I have been married for 12 years. Love my DH and would never leave him for anyone else in the world. But I must admit that I have mind crushes on other people. I love to pick fights, discuss, read posts, and learn about some people. I just love the way some people think. I must admit I have a mind crush on someone in this forum... I am not a stalker, I am not a psycho (or at least I don't think I am), but I read every post Jack makes on this forum. Every time I see The Simpsons I think of Jack. I love the way Jack thinks, explains, interprets, and enlightens the masses of LBT. I love you Jack! Anyone else have a mind crush... Or, am I psycho??

I think he is one of the really cute studs in front... oh wait a minute. I am not really a Poodle. Regarding Pirates... Remember the last scene in Pirates of the Caribbean? When Elizabeth kisses Will... so happy that he is a Pirate. ***deep sigh*** I would love Jack even if he was a Pirate. Oh and I have some ideas for other threads: Jacks Harem Superdaddy's Babes Big Paul's Gals Think that would keep our men happy?

I have been on Myocel since Sunday and it is tolerable. I mix it with Silk Soy milk. Must put it in the blender, but it is pretty good. I like both the vanilla and the chocolate. I did try some frozen blueberries and a little splenda, but that did not do anything for me. Then I put in some of my sugar free peach tea with the vanilla, and that was pretty good. Think I might try it with some coffee next. Today something weird happened... and I still can't believe it. I had a shake for Breakfast, ate a low carb lunch, drank a shake at around 2:30, and I am still not hungry. I must drink another shake tonight to get my three in for the day. But I think that is going to be dinner. Crazy hugh?

Promise I won't Pee on you Jack!! Poodles do to mark their territory, but this one does it with kisses!:kiss2: (But, well, uhum, I am married, so we won't go there...offline anyway!:kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2::kiss2:) I was actually engaged to a chiropractor, once upon a time, while we were in college. Most people don't realize that Chiropractors catch a lot of crap most of the time. Insurance companies, other doctors, and people at large don't understand what goes into becoming a Chiropractor, so they get a ton of underserved comments. And sometimes they are not looked upon as funny. Being the butt of a joke gets old. Trust me I know, I am a public school teacher. I hesitated to jump in on this, because my Jack truly is upset, but I don't think malice was the intention. Besides this is my Ode to Jack thread. Don't upset my Jackie Baby here!

I have read the "rules" and I know the importance of exercise. My first goal is to drop enough weight so that I can exercise without pain and without breaking the machines. (Most have a 250lb limit.) I have disks out in my back. Knee pain, and problems with my feet. I like to swim, but find it embarassing to go swimming (especially when my students see me in a suit). So my question is can you do it thru diet alone for a while? Or, do you HAVE to exercise for the band to work? From my past experience you will lose weight slowly without exercise, but it will still come off. What are your experiences?

Two Peanuts were walking down the street... One was a salted. Little LuLu was walking across a cow pasture when she saw a fly on a cow-patty. She just laughed and laughed, 'cause she knew that fly couldn't do all that! Little LuLu went to her grandmothers house and noticed that her grammy put some money in her bra. "Why do you do that?", she asked. "It keeps the money safe", said grammy. Later that weekend Little LuLu had a date, and the young man reached up and felt all around in her bra. Little LuLu just laughed and laughed 'cause she knew she didn't have any money up there. Sick Joke: "Mommy Mommy, why do I keep going around in circles?" "Shut up kid, before I nail you other foot to the floor." Dirty Joke: Raggedy Ann was thrown in the toybox and landed on Pinocchios face. Realizing this she said: "Lie to me! Lie to me!"

Oh teenagers... this happened today. I was reviewing a group of Seniors for their final. They were talking among themselves and not listening. I stated my famous, "if I am talking and you are talking it means someone is not listening... and I don't have to listen to you" line. Then told them that they needed to pay attention that they would be handed a final and they needed to pass. Then one Senior goes, "Miss we are Seniors...we don't know how to pay attention." So I quit the review and handed them their final.

Thank you Gayle. I will be there in 2 weeks, so this post came at a great time. I must go to Decatur too. Seems silly. His office is 15 minutes away, but I will travel 1 1/2 to get the surgery done. Sure hope he drugs me up good for the ride home!

Thank you for all of the replies. I feel lazy for asking, but I just don't want to hurt. Pain is not my friend. Hopefully, when I get down 50 lbs or so, it won't hurt so much to do that Richard Simmons tape. (I love Richard too.)

I have used it for PMS. It did not work. My step-dad uses it for appetite control, and he swears by it. Maybe it works better for men... you should try it.
