    Milwaukee/ Wisconsin surgeons?

I had Dr. Gould at Froedtert and the Medical College. I'm very happy with him and his staff so far. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using the BariatricPal App
  3. I wish I had known how much pain I would have felt right after surgery. I slept in a recliner for a week. I have always had a high pain tolerance but this one threw me for a loop. I had read on here how everyone said it was a piece of cake and not painful. I guess everyone is different because I felt like I was punched in the stomach repeatedly and the incision pain was pretty intense for at least 2 Weeks for me. I was so glad I took 4 weeks off work, I would have never made it. Sent from my SM-T800 using the BariatricPal App
  4. I was wondering if anyone has lost a shoe size with their weight loss. I would be very sad if this happened to me and I had to replace all my shoes (I have quite the collection). I was just saying to my boyfriend the other day that the only thing that still fits me are my socks and shoes. Everything else has been replaced a few times already as I get smaller. Goodwill shopping help

Goodwill has been a Godsend for me! You need to have time to look through stuff and try it on. My local Goodwill stores are nicely organized and clean. I have found some stylish clothes there for affordable prices. They do take returns but you get a store credit. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using the BariatricPal App

    Anybody else not sleeping?

I was a sound 8 hour per night sleeper prior to surgery. Now I wake up @ 2 am every night unless I take Tylenol PM. It's been 3 months and not getting better. Hope things get better for you! Sent from my SM-T800 using the BariatricPal App

    Gastric bypass or sleeve

I chose sleeve because I prefer normal digestion. I had GERD prior to surgery and now 2 months post op it's practically gone. My surgeon told me not to use GERD as a deciding factor. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using the BariatricPal App
  9. I don't get hungry but get a strong acidy feeling in my sleeve when it's time to eat. It stinks at night when I go to bed since I haven't eaten for hours before bedtime. Have to take acid meds to calm it down. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using the BariatricPal App
  10. I have a desk job and took off 4 weeks. I don't care if you sit at a desk, you just had major surgery and you body physically needs time to heal. There is NO WAY I could have gone back in a few days. I have a high pain tolerance, am very active, and this surgery wiped me out. I couldn't even drink Water properly for a week. I would have rather used my vacation time to heal properly than to have ended up back in the hospital. Sent from my SM-T800 using the BariatricPal App
  11. I just joined my local YMCA. I was stuck in a stall for 3 weeks and scale would not budge. I found some fun exercise classes like zumba and kickboxing and the scale started moving again. I was walking on the treadmill prior to this and think my mind and body were bored. Since I live in Wisconsin with long winters unfortunately I can't get outdoors like I would really rather do. 12. My surgery was 12/22 and I'm down 35 pounds so I'm happy. I have good and bad days with eating. One day everything goes down well, the next nothing does. I'm averaging about 500—600 calories per day. I had a follow up with my NUT and she wants me to drink more water. I average about 62 oz per day. I told her that with waiting 30 minutes before & after my 3 meals per day plus the 30 minutes it tales for me to eat that is 4.5 hours of my day I can't drink. The struggle is real! I keep trying!

    Time off work

I was off 4 weeks and I'm so glad I was. The first 2 weeks were painful and I was so exhausted! I was lucky my work has short term disability. I can't believe people return after a week! I know everyone is different however.
  14. Premier protein is on sale now at Costco. I got some yesterday and I like it a lot.

    December 2015 Sleevers

I have sent a request. I had surgery on 12/22
  16. I have had the same horrible pinching in my lower right abdomen. It is an internal muscular pain that takes my breath away when sitting down and standing up. I see the doctor next week and hope he can explain what is going on. Other than that I feel fine, it's setting me back in my recovery and I can't even imagine going back to work yet.
  17. I mix the inside of my capsules with a wee bit of unsweetened applesauce to get them down. But I was discharged on the pureed diet. I'm 11 days post op and I'm not gonna lie, it has been a rough road. Know things will get better eventually☺.
  18. I agree, drinking water out of those tiny cups made me swallow air and I had to burp up the air each sip I took. It was very painful. They brought me a larger water bottle finally and that made a huge difference.
  19. I'm 6 days post op. The first 3 days were the worse. I ended up having a hiatal hernia repair along with my sleeve (which I didn't know I had) and even getting water down at first was painful. I have a high pain tolerance and this has been very difficult. I can only eat about 1 ounce of food at a time. My surgeon put me on pureed foods right away. So getting protein in is very difficult. On a good note, the 7 pounds I gained during surgery are finally gone, I'm off pain meds, and can move more each day. Looking at the bright side ☺.
  20. I am 4 days post op. I stayed in the hospital for one day before discharge. They had me eat lunch and dinner before they would let me go home on pureed diet. I ended up going to ER yesterday because I had breakfast of 1 hard boiled egg that I pureed with water. I ended up having the the most horrible pain on my right side chest area that just kept getting worse and worse. Since it was Christmas day I had to call the hospital where I had surgery and have the resident on call. I have a great pain tolerance and this was at least a 9 out of 10 on the pain scale. I spoke to the resident and since the pain was in my chest area they told me to call 911. I wasn't about to do that so I headed to the local ER. They hooked me up to IV and gave me some heavy duty pain medication. Did CT scan, EKG and labs were done. All came back normal. I don't think I will puree an egg and eat it ever again! My incision site where they removed my stomach still hurts like someone is poking at it with a hot piece of metal so I'm still on pain meds to "take the edge off". I was told not to I have any more food for the rest of yesterday. I had my breakfast this am and it all went good. This was definitely a Christmas to remember! I don't know how I'm ever going to be able to get near the protein and water numbers they want me to have. They also discontinued my allergy meds (ZYRTEC ) so my eyes, ears , and body have been so itchy. So far this has really sucked but I'm keeping my eye on the prize! If anyone thinks this is the easy way out to lose weight they have no idea how hard this is!!!!!!!!
  21. This was my first night. I have pain and nausea that comes and goes. I'm hoping today is a little easier. I'm hoping to go home tonight.
  22. I'm on for tomorrow also. I just want it to be over with!!!
  23. I am scheduled the next day. I see it as starting a new life in the new year☺
  24. I am going through this right now. I'm scheduled for 12/22 and have only told 3 people. After reading people's experiences with this I have decided not to even let my close friends know for fear of being judged constantly. I told my co-workers I'm having a different type surgery done (which is hard since I work in health care and they have all kinds of questions). I hate lying but I can't take it back once the cats out of the bag and don't want to regret telling everyone.
