  1. @Rose1up! i hear ya. i been 180 and i look pretty good. but i think 160 will be awesome. 140 i think is too small but who knows! sky's the limit right? :)

sounds like you're doing great! the first couple week you can lose a pound or more a day it's FAB. You might be feeling hungry. Don't let anyone tell you you're not feeling what you're feeling cuz it's your body and you know what it is lol.

are you sipping your liquids in a cup? like not thru a straw or anything? that's the best way to make sure you're not getting gas but gas is a given in the beginning so just keep walkin' and sippin. :)

I look and feel great at 155 so I know what you mean about your ideal weight. I thought I looked skinny at 155 but according to what I should weigh for my height... It says I should weigh 145. I would be fine at that or at 130 but I haven't seen 130 since 7th grade. Lol and I was pure muscle then.

I dont ever sip through straws. The wound under my bra line opened up today. The Dermabond (liquid suture) did not stay long at all. I went into the weightloss center and Dana said it looked fine. I sat up and it stuck to my belly roll and it opened again and was bleeding. Now I have to treat an open wound. Ugggghhh... its in such a hard area to heal.

Thats great about losing a lb. a day. Its also nice to know this weightloss will stay off. :)

  2. So I changed my goal to 160. I think that's really my goal but, if I feel like it, i might go lower and try to be "skinny" which is what 140 would look like on me. but i have to say this. i feel like, for the first time in my life, i'm GOING TO GET THERE. i always had doubts before. i would get 40, even 20lbs from my goal and never make it. this time feels different. my life IS different. I'M different. i KNOW i'll get there cuz it's just gonna happen. i'm working for it everyday. its my way of life now.

ive been sick since last wednesday and now i'm getting better and i can't WAIT to start working out again. even tho being sick, i've lost weight, i want to get back to sculpting my body again and working for it. i am excited to get there like i've never been before. before i was racing towards it before i "lost the urge". now it's a complete change of life and there's no going back cuz it's just not possible to go back. and i'm finally good with that. in fact, my struggle is finding ways to eat ENOUGH rather than finding ways to cut back.

Thats great that you feel this way. Very inspiring! I dont reallt have a set goal weight right now. I just dont want to be too skinny or begin to look unhealthy if you know what I mean.

  3. Glad I could help. I still feel hungry in my stomach. Its weird as if nothing is satisfying it. I am drinking my liquids... no problems but just tired of feeling like Im starving. It may be phantom pains from my body. @PR_PITBULL - did you have the same issue?

i didn't have that problem in the beginning. (I wasn't hungry in the beginning) but you will feel boredom in what you're drinking. that, in and of itself, can prove dissatisfying. hunger and stomach acid do not feel the same way. stomach acid feels like. well acid in your stomach. it hurts. take it from me. i've had gastritis and a hiatal hernia for years. hunger feels like emptiness. i started getting hungry about 4 weeks out. and now i'm hungry all the time but rarely have an appetite for anything so it's easy to "eat right" since I don't really want anything in spite of being "hungry".

    Hi PR_Pitbull,

Its definitely got to be hunger that Im feeling. However, even though Im feeling this way, I work past it and get my liquids in. I am definitely bored of my liquids. chicken broth gives the worst gas. Lol - I know... TMI but its true. Im looking forward to eating regular food again. Im now 6 days post op and down 8 lbs now. Granted, its an all liquid diet but I feel that I will get to my goal also. My new tummy makes a lot of noise. It talks to me all the time. :)

  4. Hi everyone - I had a successful Gastric Sleeve surgery yesterday. I got discharged today before noon. You definitely have the pain of gas from your intestines and pain from the gas from the operation. Lots of walking helps get it moving. I feel hunger pains as if Im still hungry. Doc says its mental... however I feel it and to me that is physical. Warm and hot liquids feel much better to drink than cold fluids right now. The cold fluids tend to cause cramping or spasms. Those hurt and are unbearable. Other than that... Im taking it slow and been hitting my 64 Fluid oz. I love chicken broth. Ill keep posting as I get stronger.

  5. Hi everyone. .. My surgery day is right around the corner. Its this Weds. Im ready. I am looking forward to the journey I am about to endure. I think its going to really change the way I have seen food. I also think that Im going to find my own inner strength. Im ready. Ill try my best to post my experience and how Im feeling. Hope everyone had a great New Years!!!

Whats up woman!!! Your hard work is paying off. I have a great before photo that I will post with hitting my 3 month mark. Ill place my stats too. I have my surgery date scheduled for 1/6/16. We are working on clearing our house out as far as any junk. My kids and husband are ready to tackle this with me. Getting the ... its getting closer jitters!

  7. Let's see if I can get this to work. I started off at 316 (top Hawaii picture). On April 1st had the surgery and now down to 225. I'm so pumped up. I was in a wheel chair about 12 years ago and learned how to walk like a baby. So to be able to get up and out, and to get back down to my military or detective weight is awesome.

Right on.... my surgery is scheduled for Jan 6. People are hesitant to do this surgery because of all the throwing up. Im not. I will get used to what my stomach can hold. Keep up the good work

  8. The first six months? Are you sure he didn't say the first six weeks? I lost the first 20 in about four weeks and then that was it. nothing else came off until I started working out watching my carbs and dieting just like anybody else.

Thanksgiving was fine I can't eat **** so it was really no struggle for me. I started the day with fasted cardio. I hope you had a wonderful day today.

Yes he said the first 6 months. Hope you are doing well.

  9. @Rose1up!its something i wouldnt have been able to say to someone until now - post surgery so i understand that you didn't think of it then. i went away for a while cuz i was pretty pissed off feeling like i had wasted 12k on this surgery but i'm doing better now. just needed to get my head in the game.

i'm down to 206 today. i stalled for a while but i was also really sick for a few weeks and it felt like i couldn't eat anything at all AND i was stalled at 211 for ever. but then i started getting my eating in order and just this week started working out and it's working. so im lowering the carbs and calories and working out and the weight is shifting.

once i wrapped my head around the fact that calorie deficit due to surgery isn't enough and i would have to put in some work - things started changing for me.

Most definitely. ... gotta put in the work. This is why we chose this path and as you menioned, this isnt the easy way out. The surgery will speed up our weightloss however we need to also follow strict diet for a year. Dr. Soong said that during the first 6 months is where peoplw lose thier weight the fastest but its recommended that we follow our diet rules for a year. Im going to follow excatly by the book. How did you handle your eating for Thanksgiving today? Hope you are feeling better and that your Thanksgiving was wonderful.

Here's my before and after 100+ pounds...love the loss, hate the complications 3 years later.

    What surgery did you have?
    What complications, may I ask?

    P.S. your arms are Amazing!

Thanks for the compliment on my arms...it's funny though, I think that's my worst feature, lots of excess skin...I think that might have just been great photography! Lol! Anyways my complications are almost too many to list: large hematoma with drain tube one week after sleeve surgery, severe reflux and GERD, 3 strictures with dilations, 2 hiatal hernias needing surgery, a myelotomy surgery, revision to bypass surgery, central line put in for TPN, then finally 2 weeks ago a jejunostomy feeding tube put in for nutrition. Whew!

Nails by Niki - thats unreal!! Was this or majority of all your complications due to the sleeve surgery? Im so sorry youve had so many different things happening to you.

  11. Good point and soooo... true PR_pitbullgrl! When we were talking.... I didnt even think of all of that. I know I will hear things from people and rumors... just cause people are so shady about what "we are doing for ourselves" that Im prepared for these types of comments. Thanks for that good advice. How are you doing by the way??? How are you feeling... any new weightloss?

  12. I am starting to let those who are close to me at my work know. Last Friday... one of the guys I work with told me that I dont need to do this surgery. He told me that I dont love myself because If I did, I would work hard to lose my weight without surgical intervention. Instead of pleading my case, I told him... "as my friend, I would hope you would be supportive but if not, thats ok too because I made my decision for myself and not anyone else". I find that those individuals that have lost the weight naturally are usually the ones that cry the loudest at those of us that choose to have weightloss surgery.
