On September 11, 2015 (less than 2 months from 2 years.) I opted to have the Bariatric sleeve done. Starting weight was 248, my height is 5'2 small build, diabetic among other things. So naturally I was morbidly obese...
Fast forward to now, I have ONLY lost 75lbs..() I weigh in at 173 today, still in a unhealthy percentile for my build. I haven't lost more than the usually give or take +1 or -1 lb each week in over a YEAR!! () I have tried RESTARTS. I go down a lb. but right back up a few days later.
I'm not sure what's worst, me wasting my time on having surgery. Or having surgery and not losing near the amount of weight you want and/or need to lose. It extremely HARD for me to except, after all the work I put in for little results. I'm not happy!! I shouldn't be looking into a revision this soon or at all!! I often say " I ALTERED MY BODY and I'M STILL FAT AND UNHEALTHY!! (Who does that? 🤦🏼♀️)
- has anyone had this issue? What did you do?
-is this normal? Or just another fail on my part?
- what can I do? I'm I a total loss?
BTW, please don't kick me while I'm down. I don't want to hear about going back to the DR. or NUT. My DR is no longer doing the surgery due to insurance & hospital going into litigation. Also, I no longer have insurance, so running to the doctor is very costly, and not an option.
Things I do daily:
Drink Water ( as hard as it is)
Constantly active
Eat ( small meals of course)
Thanks for taking the time to help! It's greatly appreciated, coming from others w/ similarities.

I'm 5'2 my BM before surgery was 46.
No doubt I think the tea and seeds are effecting me. Thank you all for ur support and help.
And I totally relate to carrying around 69lbs bc the more I lose.. The more I think I did I manage with all the extra weight on me.

I hate Water now after surgery!!! And I hate all the additives u can put in water!!! I love regular sweet tea.
I'm walking around my subdivision, and chasing after a 4 year old.

It's very sickening to be almost 9 months post op, and only lost 69 lbs.. It's so frustrating to know that u altered ur body, and still can't lose weight. I have consulted my dr and nut. They give me the same old list of things to do/not to do. Nothing changes!!

I have stayed the same weight now for idk how long. It's getting old. I have tried my hardest to "embarrass the stall". I have been on a stall more then not! I'm even doing 48 hrs rest and nothing.... I'm afraid I lost all I'm going to lose. Has anyone stopped at 64 lbs?
I'm only 64 lbs down in 7 months. It's very disappointing to alter your body and still be fat!

What alcoholic beverage do you drink post-op?
I LOVE beer but bc it's carbonated I can't have it. ????????
I don't want nor need negative or rude comments. I like to have social drinks from time to time. ESPECIALLY since it's Mardi Gras! ????????????
Thanks for you help!

The past month I have stayed at 192#.That isn't anywhere close to goal weight. It's very discouraging. Did I lose all the weight that I'm going to lose?

It's not a race!
Your body will lose at the rate it decides, not you, not your doctor, not because you've read of others losing tons of weight themselves in a few months. You have your own unique metabolism and there isn't a thing you could do to change it unless you want to screw it up by starving yourself or yo-yo dieting... as long as you are hitting your Protein, calorie, and Water requirements and getting some exercise, you'll get there eventually!
Slow loss is still loss. You should not be putting "only" in front of "lost 50 pounds in 4 months" - 50 pounds lost in 4 months??? That is fantastic and I'd bet most people out there that haven't had weight loss surgery would be amazed if you said that to them...
And don't forget, slower paced weight loss minimizes the issues with saggy, baggy skin.
Keep doing what you can do and get your Protein and Water - you're doing great!
Thank you for encouragement! I really appreciate it.

Thank you.. I still feel defeated.. I'm any where close to what I want to be!!

Ohh by no means do I want to stretch my stomach. I went thru 3 weeks of living hell. I don't want that to be wasted. It was just a question I was thinking about.
-
Can u re- stretch your stomach out?? Or can you sleeve slip? Would u feel normal again?

I don't track my stuff. [emoji53]
I believe it was done correctly, but idk. My surgeon don't do it anymore bc insurance companies weren't paying on patients. So the hospital was having to foot the bill. So right now he isn't
Practicing.
