  1. I'm 22 and I got sleeved on 1.15.2016 it's been kind of tough so far but I'm still very early in my journey and adjusting emotionally. Going into this a lot of people said that I was too young but I am happy I went through with it. They say these are the best years of life and I don't want to waste them. I also don't want to keep waiting while things get worse and worse.

I wish you luck! And it's great that you'll have your family to lean on since they have experience with this.

  2. I had my surgery yesterday afternoon! Currently recovering in the hospital room. Right out of surgery I was in so much pain. Nauseous, tired, dry month, incisions felt awful. I cried and thought about why I put myself through this but in a few hours I was up and walking and I've been walking lots ever since. I feel wonderful and I can't wait to start seeing and feeling my results

  3. Oh my no loser here. Its overwhelming just knowing im a few days away from drastically changing my life and that so little people understand it

The "losers bench" is a good thing!! It means you're officially on the other side of surgery and are going to start losing weight with the rest of the sleeved family.

Surgery for me is 19 days away but it is all going by so quickly. My sister asked me the other day how I am so calm. I told her it's probably because it just hasn't hit me yet haha. I'm getting more nervous by the day but I'm trying to focus on other people's positive success stories. That helps a lot.

  4. @@avocadoPAK I am 21 as well. I have not told anyone besides my close family (although they aren't too fond of it) and my girlfriend (who is supportive and happy for me).

Being younger is tough because a lot of people think I have not thought this through or that I should just keep trying to lose weight naturally but I have been overweight since childhood. I'm so excited to get my sleeve but I will definitely be keeping it to myself.

  5. Congrats, sending prayers up for you!

Also, I'm not sure how to change the name on the mobile app. But online you can go to the top right corner and next to your current display name click the gear icon for more options. Then on the next page click the Display Name button on the left hand side and change it from there.

    I hope that helps!

  6. Hi all, I am new here and have a question! I've been lurking around a bit but can't seem to find an answer so I decided to suck it up and post my very first topic!

I am looking into getting Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am leaning towards scheduling something in Mexico because my BMI is normally 32 or 33 and I have no major health issues that would qualify me for surgery in the US. I haven't tried yet to see if I would qualify for some reason so that might not be out of the question.

For those of you who have gone to Mexico for your surgery, was that decision made because you did not qualify for surgery through your insurance in the US and you needed to self-pay? Or for other reasons?

  7. "you're not thaaaat fat"

"but you've lost weight before naturally. just do it again."

"i would kill to be your size."

My current BMI is 33 (although it has been higher in the past) and I feel trapped in my own body. I have been overweight since 7, dieting since 9, and I have never been successful at keeping weight off. Will be looking into a trip to Mexico and a self-paid surgery. I can't wait to get my date and become the person I've always wanted to be.
