That is still yet to be determined. I already exercise alot, so my NUT put me on a 1800 calorie a day diet, which is actually pretty hard to do. She said we would monitor my weight once I upped my training and if I start loosing again, she would bump me up to 2,000 calories a day. I use MFP, goals are 150 Protein, 150 carbs, and 65 fat. That is so awesome! What are you doing from a nutrition standpoint while you are training? I am signed up for a marathon in October and not getting much help from my NUTs.
Good luck!

I'm 7 months post sleeve. At this point, I can get a glass of Water before my meal and drink some, but once my food comes, I set my glass to the side. This works well for me. From what my NUT told me, it's not harmful to drink during a meal, but it washes your food down and you won't have the fullness feeling.

I'm with ya, I hear the you're too skinny or I am really concerned about you losing too much. Umm, if your name doesn't have MD, RD, or EP after it like my team I'm working with does, just say I look good or don't say anything at all!

Also I know all surgeons are different. But I wasn't cleared to eat chicken when I was at your point. I started out on a pureed consistency foods like scrambled eggs, yogurt, refried Beans, then progressed to canned meats like tuna and chicken. And forget about trying to eat broccoli, focus on Protein and take your Vitamins.

What Sophie said. Also, you don't have a pouch if you had the sleeve done. You have a sleeve. Keep drinking your Protein. Also what helped me when I was at your point, no kidding, I used a kiddie spoon, would take a bite, set my fork or spoon down and chew. It makes you slow down.

Pretty excited and pumped about starting my 13 week triathlon training today, even though Mondays are my rest days! LOL. I see an exercise physiologist at my surgery center. She designed a training course for me that is very detailed and structured. (I need that!) She spent alot of time researching it. She basically took 3 different plans from the Internet and took parts off each and custom fit it to me. She is young, fresh out of college and I think she enjoyed the challenge of it, which actually motivates me even more, I don't want to let her down!
I picked a long sprint triathlon that is in my hometown in August. Quarter mile swim, 17 mile bike, and 4.1 mile run. I have always wanted to do triathlons since I was in my early 20's, but life got in the way, so now that I am at my goal weight, it's my next challenge in life! Ready, set, go!

Something that my exercise physiologist told me about those "calories burned" is that they are terribly innacurate. I exercise alot and was conerned about the number of calories burned because they would frequently be at least half and sometimes up to a full day of what i consumed. So take them with a grain of salt.

I had the same surgeon as bufflehead, so same rules. i also was around 800k when i was at your point. i am basically at maintenance at 1800 calories at 7 months. i work out alot as well and will be upping my training in a couple weeks for a triathlon. my nut said she would probably have to bump up to about 2,000 calories to hold my weight steady.

Normally that is a sign that you over ate. At two weeks, your meal should be about a quarter of a cup, at least that was what my plan was.

The first few days are pretty hard, but then it really does get easier. Just focus on getting past those first few days by keeping busy, then it's all downhill, especially when you see how fast weight drops on the preoperative diet. Good luck

Have you seen the couch to 5k app? It'd a great app, coaches you during your whole workout and takes you up to running a 5kWhen I started running in January I would run/walk intervals and be so excited when it came time to walk. I am actually running 4:1 intervals and probably don't really need the walk intervals anymore!

I'm in maintenance I guess. I skidded right past my goal of 175 and now down to 169 or so. My NUT increased my calories to 1800 a day, I'm 5'11", my macros on myfitnesspal are 158 grams of Protein, 158 for carbs, and 60 for fat. I'm exercising heavy, getting ready to train for a triathlon, so I doubt my calorie goal will stay at 1800 for very long. She mentioned increasing it to 2,000 if I continue to lose.

Ive bought pretty much all my clothes post op from Goodwill, or we have another in my area called KARM, little nicer things there.

"Let's eat Grandma" vs "Let's eat, Grandma"

It really helps me to make an effort to put the fork down between each bite. At first I had to think about it, but now 6 months post op, it's second nature.

It happens! What I found works well for me, especially when I am out eating is, I take a bite, then set the fork down and chew, chew, chew. This keeps me from gulping everything down too fast.
