Omg the sleeve has changed our life forever! We are not hungry, we are more healthy,k we are off meds, the hubbys diabetes is under control. THERE ARE NO NEGATIVES.

Okay, here it is. The less people you tell YOUR a business the less negativity you will encounter. You reap what you sow. My husband and I told no one and we have no one who knows our business. How easy is that!? Good luck!!!!

But who's fault is that? So many posters come on here, asking questions that they should be asking their surgeons. They are the ones seeking medical advice from strangers on an Internet forum. It's fine to ask about other people's experiences and opinions but they should not be asking what THEY should be doing. Unfortunately they do. I completely agree that post WLS is not a one size fits all formula. Everyone needs to find what works for them, under their doctor's supervision. In my responses I try to stick with describing my own experience, but make it clear that it may not work for everyone. No one on here is qualified to tell any other patient how to proceed with their diet and excercise programs so it's the people asking for advice that need to realize the responses are indeed, opinions and individual anecdotes, not medical facts. MY POINT EXACTLY. We are not doctors. Call your doctors. Quit saying "HELP I am dying". If you are dying go to the ER or call Rescue.

There are so many people from different countries, different surgeons, different eating plans. If people filled out their stats it is easier to give help, because for instance in Australia or U.K. They do not have the products we have. Please fill out your information.,

My favorite advice is call your surgeon because we are not doctors. I do know to say don't eat a taco one week post sleeve. We do the best we can, shaming and ridicule here is ridiculous and rampant. I might give advice but I always end it with good luck or best wishes.

Well this 70 year old 3 years out veteran would say follow your surgeons instructions!

I went before my extremely obese husband because he was terrified. The surgeon recommended a two week difference due to the possibility of a problem. YES, it happened. My husband spent 4 days in the hospital with a problem. My husband is my priority. Not sure he would have done it if I had not gone first. I count my blessings I was allowed to go first and take care of my most precious asset.

I am still more afraid of what I can catch in the hospital. Someone next door to me had 20 people visiting with masks on. YIKES!!! Went straight back in my room!!!!

I've never lost hair following anesthesia until this surgery. I'm not sure if it's a combo of things but I had a pillow full of hair in the hospital. Have had numerous surgeries with anesthesia, and no hair loss, IMHO anesthesia does not cause hair loss.

I will never forget the laughter at my obese husband when he had heatstroke in the Bahamas, when he was in the ER at Freeport. I have pictures of the fat kid when he was 12. I am married to the most gentle and wonderful man in the world, I have watched him go days without eating, go two years on liquid shakes, Optifast, with heartbreak. I have called Rescue so many times. Twenty five years together, and I now see him as a happy man the first time in his life about himself. I laugh at the amount of clothes he buys. I laugh at him being 69 years old and letting his grey hair grow a little, asking me if it is long enough for a ponytail. He will never be laughed at again.

When you ask questions, a lot depends on some simple information about you. You do not have to share your life story, Not even your name!!! Just makes it easier to guide you, and as you read constantly, you see these questions. Helps to give you the best advice instead of guessing.

Depending on your age and or weight you will have a little loose skin, or a lot. That never occurred to me, my health mattered most. I absolutely wish you the best, and appreciate this great opportunity to change your life.

My husband and I were sleeved three years ago. We go everywhere and socialize a lot. We just went to a family function and I cooked Mac and cheese, cheese grits, we had grilled ribs, salad and fresh mustard greens. I really enjoyed the fresh mustard greens and never felt deprived. I am thankful the sleeve allows me and my husband to enjoy events, and not to eat through events. This is serious surgery and you need to get in the game. Take your favorite food to a family function and enjoy it! Also, I sometimes drink a protein shake a couple hours before going somewhere and make sure I am not starving! Good luck! Never feel deprived, get a mindset that you are winning this race!
