I was 67 years old, 3 years ago, and walked the mall four days after the sleeve. Fear of the unknown is our worst Enemy. Best of luck!!

When did you feel "normal" again?
The happiness I felt outweighed everything. Eat little, rest, one day at a time.

Too big to fly?
I paid for an extra seat not to embarrass my sweet husband. He fit perfectly at 6'2" 320 lbs. I was easily refunded the cost of th second seat.

Bananas are NOT a low carb food
I only skip the bananas because I once took a scrawny kid to enlist for the Army and he was underweight. He was told to eat a bunch of bananas on the weekend and come back Monday. Monday the Army enlisted him with a belly full of bananas. Now if you have leg cramps, eat a banana.

Did you tell people?
The less people you tell the less drama you have in your life. Thank God my husband made me promise not to tell as he is very private. All you need to say is I am eating healthy, and move around between people and even dump the food in the trash. Since we lost weight, we share a plate, and no one even questions that we are eating healthy to maintain our weight loss. Be strong, this is about you!!

Sandwich Wraps
Be prepared with your meal items so you won't grab just anything. No bread in my house so I am never tempted. Make little meat loaves in muffin tins, or make mini quiches in the muffin tins. I use eggs, low fat Swiss cheese, FF milk, and fresh crabmeat or sprinkles of bpcooked bacon, no crust, to make the quiches. I have made it a habit to never have bread or pasta in reach. I also keep tuna salad and cooked ground beef with taco seasoning for a quick meal.

Meals and Snacks Need Help!
A rotisserie chicken makes several meals. My husband has a few slivers of smoked salmon, and I might have tuna on lettuce. We make very simple decisions in the kitchen now. One filet mignon feeds the two of us, when I find them on sale. Sometimes we have steamed cabbage and low fat turkey kielbasa. Fish is our favorite meal, saltwater such as Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, or flounder, with Old Bay seasoning, sautéed in a little EVOO.

Questions
My husband (and I) went to Seminars for fifteen years. Not comfortable until we found the sleeve surgery. A year before the surgery our health was getting worse. We have never regretted the sleeve three years ago and would definitely do it again. I have not had to call Rescue to my husband in three years. We can eat whatever we want with moderation, except things like Mac and cheese which would make us fat again. Not risking it. We have gotten used to small bites and small healthy meals. You can drink all day as much as you want, so leaving the drinks along while eating is no big deal.

How to make protein taste better ?
I add Hershey's chocolate unsweetened powder to my vanilla or chocolate shakes, with one Stevia packet. I think there is 10 calories in a teaspoon of the powder. Add Crystal Light powders too, if you like their flavors.

New to the group
I was sleeved at 67 three years ago. I spent 8 hours in the hospital, and took one pain pill when I got home, and no pain after that. That was on a Monday, and I was walking in the mall four days later. Best thing I ever did for my health!

Okay or not okay?
If you recently had surgery, can you focus on soft foods like cottage cheese, protein shakes, scrambled eggs? I hope you have someone to help you because this can be stressful. I wish you a great outcome and we are here to help you.
