    it's happening...

Surgery is a scary thing but change is even scarier. I had surgery on Friday and regretted it so much. But 5 days out, I'm getting better every day and have already lost 12 pounds. I was throwing up with my iv medicines and stayed an extra night but it's way better when you get home and can do everything at your own pace. I miss food so much. I watch everyone eat around me. It's the worst feeling. I was at one point to where I was upset and felt like I could never have food again. Then I was like wait a minute, no way. We just learn to eat in smaller portions. It's a life changing experience but it's gonna be worth it. Don't worry. We are all here for support too

Well I went to my in laws tonight for a bit and then to Kroger. The store was horrible. I ended up dizzy and we didn't stay long. I felt better once I got into the car. I carry my water every where. Just never know what can happen. I started Greek yogurt and it was heaven. I miss food so bad. Everything sounds so good. I can't wait until April 13th lol.

That is so exciting that your last appointment is tommrow. I hope you hear something quick too. I'm gonna say you will be getting surgery early March. I definitely had regrets after wards. I miss food so bad. My husband and daughter have been eating pizza and chicken nuggets. It smells so good. I have until March 13th to go for puree foods like smooth pb and baby food like stuff. I haven't been doing my protein shakes but I plan to start them sometime. I started taking my vitamins. I have my 1 insicion that hurts pretty bad but I kind of moved alot and wrong last night in the recliner trying to get comfortable. I'm trying to tell myself that food will be my reward soon enough and just relax. My stomach kind of starts hurting when I'm hungry like when it wants to growl but obviously cant. We are gonna have our bad days for sure but I hope it's enough for the outcome

    Anesthesia......

I just had surgery friday and that was my biggest concern. They do give you a relax medicine through the iv before the bring you to the OR. It hit me just as soon as we hit the doors to go in. They put you on the table then have you breath into a mask. Your out after 3 deep breaths in. My surgery took about 4 hours maybe. It's gonna be okay.

I am doing much better then am. Taking my meds and been walking. Staying hydrated too. I've been sleeping in the recliner. Having some random spasms but I just feel like ive pulled my left side. Nothing even on the right hurts. It's horrible throwing up on iv medicine. At one point I didn't take anything because I was tired of getting sick. Each day is going to be better

Hi every one. Been sleeping alot. Trying to stay hydrated and walk as much as I can. I feel like I couldn't sleep in the hospital since the nurses or whoever comes in like every hour. I am home now. Stayed an extra night since I couldn't keep my pills down. I've been staying away from the medicine anyways since I kept throwing up.

Hello. Having surgery done Feb 12th. Wondering what everyone's diet is like? I gotta do 2 weeks of liquids. 5 protein shakes a day.

Hi every one! I has my surgery done around 11am yesterday. It's been tough and it's getting better but it's definitely taking a toll. The pain is like doing a million sit ups on my left side. I've been dry heaving. Waiting to do leak test. If that's okay then going home.
  11. Hi. Does any one drink the strawberry kiwi kind? I'm waiting for it today and decided to give it a try. I can't do the milky shakes anymore.

Getting ready to leave for the hospital. My nerves are through the roof. I've had a headache all night. Stayed up until past 1am. Felt like I didn't even sleep. I'm excited just super nervous. I will keep updated

Dr. Thompkins is doing mine. Are you going through UC perks? And kyboo, the 6 months will go by so fast. I've been doing this for almost 11 months now. I started on March 30th. I did 9 months. It went by pretty fast. It gives you time to see what we all go through and see everyone's experiences.

It took me 8 days not counting weekends for the approval call. It's probably the worst part lol and this liquid diet! Thank you Bloomer. I really appreciate that. I am just sitting on my couch right now thinking about what to do and get ready for tommrow. I am so ready. My house is a mess so I'm cleaning that tonight. I am a cleaning freak when it comes to my house so it being a mess all week has been driving me crazy lol. My in laws are keeping my 3 year old daughter tonight and tommrow. I hope I only stay until saturday but if I stay until Sunday, that's fine too. I just don't want to be sick. I think I'm gonna be okay though. It's gonna be a huge adjustment for everything but I'm ready. It's weird to think that by this time tommrow, I should be in recovery. I promise I will let you guys know how I am as soon as I can.

    Pre op diet?

How is everyone doing? I am so happy that tommrow is my last day for the pre op diet. Even though we have it afterwards, I'm tired of being hungry.

I am so excited tommrow is my last day doing this pre op diet. I'm so ready for this to be done. Even though I will have to do it after, but just for a month and at least I won't be hungry. I hope so anyways.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate it Bloomer, I actually can't tolerate the premier shakes now. It's the milk and maybe 30 grams of Protein might be too much at one time. I wish I could tolerate it so much. It was good. I've just been back to drinking my organic one even though it's not very good but I'm sucking it up. I do plan to try a different one. There's one at Walmart or kroger I'm gonna try. That's great you have lost weight. Dr. Ivan will be happy. I can't wait for you to start this process too. I will be here for you for any questions and support too. I love talking to you guys. I don't think we are getting much snow on friday. I hope not anyways. I can't even believe how much it's snowing. I don't have to go anywhere today or the next couple days so that's a plus for me lol. And I don't have much of a sex drive either and I'm 26. It kind of sucks but maybe things will get better for us both lol

    Pre-Op Diet

I am the 12th. Been on a 2 week pre op liquid diet. It has sucked! Can't wait for this to be over. The head hunger is always here too. But I'm tired of being hungry and food is every where it seems like. It's gonna be okay though. The day will be here. It's best to just try to keep busy. Watch your favorite movies or shows. I'm off work the rest of the week so it's gonna be hard sitting at home.
  20. MollyF22

This Pre-Op diet is the pits.

It is definitely hard. We don't realize how much our bodies depend on food. Food is every where too. The 2nd day is pretty rough. But the 4th day, it gets better. I'm on the week of my surgery. 2 more days of this diet. I'm so done and ready not to be hungry anymore. Even though I will be on liquids after, just hope not to be hungry. Just try to keep busy. Watch your favorite movies or shows. I'm on all full liquids. Broth, shakes, jello and popsicles. That's it.

That's great perks! I bet you feel so much better. Can't wait to be where your at! I only have 3 more days. I honestly can't wait to stop having this hunger. I'm tired of being hungry. It's probably all head hunger though. Yesterday was my last day at work until March 1st. I have a couple things to do before friday. I gotta start washing my stomach with the special soap they give us for no infections.

    Protein powered question

I have the vanilla kind of that. How is the chocolate? The vanilla isn't too great. You can always look on amazon for dairy free powder. I know they have alot. There's also pea or egg white Protein. Walmart and Kroger sell a different Organic kind by Purely inspired. It's for 20 bucks. I'm thinking about trying it as well.
  23. I am doing pre op liquids now..on day 8. I have had a rough time too. Sometimes I'm starving. Just gotta keep up on liquids. My 2nd day was horrible that I had something to eat. The milky protein shakes are horrible now. I started new drinks. It's so hard. I'm definitely ready for this to be over with. I miss food. My mind is going back n forth. I just gotta keep telling myself that this is temporary and we can have food again soon. My puree stage starts March 13th. Can't wait already.

    Liquid diet pre op

I am on day 8 of my liquid diet. I have cheated a couple times. I was light headed and didn't feel so good my 2nd day. I don't think it would hurt anything. It takes any where between 1 day to 3 days for the food to get out of our digestive system so as long as you don't anything after that before surgery, then you should be fine. I have surgery next friday. Also as long as your losing weight too, it helps shrink the liver better like we are supposed too.

We are on that until a month after too. So starting for me March 13th, I can have puree foods. Then April 13th is soft foods, then May 13th is real normal food
