I believe he can come to any of them. The nutrition class, a lady was with her mom. The 2nd class with Ivan, he talks to you one on one afterwards. The pre admission is just them taking blood n seeing what medicine your on n how healthy you are.

What appointments do you have left? Just the 2 classes n pre admission?

I am taking Flintstones chewables and b12 that is liquid form. You will lose weight on the pre op diet. It sucks! And is hard. Definitely go to your favorite restaurants if you have any and eat your food too. It sucks not having any real food. We will have it eventually though and the liquids is only temporary. Thank god lol. You will get back on track soon enough and it's gonna be okay. I'm sorry all of that happened to you. It's great that you have a surgery date and something to look forward too! I'm here for support too. I definitely regretted it afterwards just because I wanted something to eat. Not even the pain. The pain wasn't bad for me at least. Food is just the best and it's hard when you get it taken away from you.

Tssiemer, I didn't have a catheter when I woke up. The surgery is about 4 hours long. I went back to surgery around 11 am and was in my room after 4pm I think. I got to the hospital at 8am to beat traffic since I'm from cinci. They give you a inflatable warming blanket in the prep room before hand to keep you warm. My nurse was nice. They couldn't find my veins so they had a pick line nurse come find one. They had one in my inner elbow then the anesthesiologist didn't like that so she shoved it in my wrist. I woke up with one in my right hand. I remember feeling like I had heartburn. I don't remember getting to my room really. They don't really shove liquids down your throat. I didn't drink much and they give you jello or something eventually or when you want. I got up to use the restroom after I woke up a bit, and I was soooo nauseous. I was dry heaving. It was horrible. I didn't keep my iv medicine down either. One point, I ended up telling them I didn't want them. I wasn't even really in pain. To me, it feels like sore abs from sit ups. Hot showers help so much.

Time goes by so fast. It's crazy. I did this for 11 months altogether. But it's worth it in the end. If you guys need any advice or help, I'm here. I will try to help the best I can. I'm 5 weeks out. It's definitely rough at first. Make sure you enjoy all your favorites because I miss some of mine.

That would be good to not know when we get submitted lol. It makes it less intense and you don't have to worry. You get to start the summer off right too. And you should be healed by the time it is good weather to swim. They didn't have a pain pump for me. They come in every hour to see how your doing too. The pain medicine they give you is called diludid or something like that. I had a hard time keeping my medicine down even through my iv. It was horrible. At one point, I stopped doing the medicine. I wasn't even in that much pain. I stayed an extra night too. But it wasn't bad. They treat you good there. My surgery took about 4 hours. Hot showers will make you feel better too.

    Restless

Hello. Was wondering if anyone could help me out with figuring out why I'm so restless at night. I'm tired and ready for bed but can't stop feeling with restlessness. I take ibs medicine before bed and that helped me sleep at night before I had surgery. I drink alot of water so I'm not dehydrated or anything. I'm 5 weeks post op. Thanks!
  9. I had the sleeve....but I'm from ohio. It took me a 9 month process. Basically 11 months after everything was done. I had 2 clearances. Cardio and pulmonary. I had to be over 52 bmi also I believe. I'm sure every state is different though. Good luck with everything

Tssiemer, that's so great that you have surgery scheduled and your approved! Your guys surgeries will be here before you know it. It's gonna seem like forever but with the appointments you need before, will help time go by a bit. I'm happy everyone is having everything moving along. I'm ready for you guys to have surgery so I have more in common lol. I'm doing okay too still. Down to 239 now. So I've lost like 10 pounds since my 1st post op appointment. It seems like UC is so backed up though. I had to have my 6 week check up with Ivan moved and they couldn't even find an appointment for me to see him again so I have to see the main nurse.

I figured you did add me and that was you. I'm glad you have me on there though. I am so jealous that your gonna be in Florida and on the beach. Where are you going? I am supposed to start the purees tommrow but I've been eating actual foods. The liquids aren't keeping me full at all. I don't think milk settles with me that good so cream of soups aren't good for my stomach. I've been doing smoothies and I've been eating some fruits. I've been having lactose free yogurt too. Even though that has milk, it's low fat and barely in there. I've actually tried chilli too. Lunch meat and cheese. Everything is sitting with me. It was hard at first because I need to learn to eat smaller bites. I've been in a funk the last couple days where I don't really want food. It's bad for me not to follow the diet we are on but if I'm hungry and can't get full on liquids, then I'm gonna try new things. I am at 241 exactly today. So I've lost 15 pounds within this month and with the 10 pounds lost on pre op diet would make 25 pounds all together. Me working and walking more is definitely helping.

Bloomer, did you add me on fb by chance too? As weird as that sounds lol. I think you did awhile back. I can add you to the fb gastric sleeve page. I love it. I am 1 month post op today! Weighing myself later. I have lost 2 pounds already this week. I was 242.8 earlier. We will see. I have progress pics but don't know how to put it up on here.

Bloomer, I am at work again. Started back on Saturday for 4 hours then worked yesterday for almost 5 hours. It was all good. It's been kind of hassle though because I get hungry while at work n I feel like I'm starving so I'm gonna have to start carrying stuff with me. I always have water. I'm down to 243.8 now which is good. I'm also down a pants size. 22s now. I'm pretty excited on that part.

Kyvsg76, I went through this process for about 11 months all together. I had 9 months required for my insurance. It hasn't seemed that long though and it gives you time to prepare. Bcostasbiggs, that sucks that your insurance wouldn't pay but at least your still doing it and getting it done for a good price. Uc is great and West Chester hospital takes really good care of you too. This surgery is definitely harder then what I thought but it's only because I miss food. The day will be here eventually and I can't wait to have normal foods again.

    Anesthesia.........

Anesthesia was my biggest fear. I had my surgery Feb 12th and have been doing fine. I did stay an extra night due to me throwing up my iv medicines but it gets better when you get home and recover. They can give you a shot of something before you go back. They did me. It made me feel drunk. I breathed 3 times into a mask and was out. Woke up in recovery but was still so sleepy. I was sleepy the rest of the day n night. Your gonna wake up and your gonna be fine. Expect pain and being nauseous because that's gonna happen. It will all pass though. You will make it through. If you need to talk anymore, I'm here

Bloomer, it's gonna be okay. It will be here before you know it. Time goes by so fast. You can take this time and enjoy your meals and get ready for it. That's so weird that they are so backed up. I can't believe that in a way. I feel like their adding to many people to their group and maybe getting to backed up. I'm sure you will lose a little weight before Disney. I am so jealous by the way that your going there. My favorite place in the whole world! I can see why your frustrated a bit though. There shouldn't be so many people. Bcostasbiggs, Uc is great. How long do you gotta go for?

Hi bcostabiggs! That's exciting to know your going through UC as well. We are definitely here for support. I had my surgery Feb 12th and doing pretty good. Are you having surgery done by Dr. Thompson? They take great care of us.

I'm doing good. Still stuck at 245. The scale isn't moving. I feel like I'm losing weight though so I guess that's all that matters? I plan to lose another 10 or so before I see Ivan again. Which is March 23rd. I hope I lose weight. I don't really eat much. I start work Saturday for about 4 hours and I get 12 hours next week. 3 different days so I'm pretty excited about it.

Aw, I bet they will call by the end of the week. At least you know your approved and it's gonna be here soon. It's gonna happen this month. Like I said, they give you a little over 2 weeks that way you can do classes anf start your diet. Just savor your meals and food because it's gonna be a long while until you enjoy them again.

    I want pureed food!

I have to be on liquids until March 13th. I was sleeved Feb 12th. It seems so far away. But I've been on liquids since January 30th. Hasn't been fun.

That's exciting though! That kind of sounds right for a date though since they give you like 3 weeks to get everything done and ready for surgery. That's the time I had left was about 3 weeks. Diane is gonna be the one who calls you. She didn't call me until 6pm at night. But then Erika calls and actually sets up everything so I think you will hear something this coming week for sure.

Bloomer, I am feeling so much better. It's great. I am happy to be feeling better. The while food deal is getting better. Maybe because puree stage is coming soon lol. I am getting tired of the sweet stuff though n hot stuff like soup. Dr. Thompson wasn't very friendly today. All he preached to me about what exercise. Looked at my insicions too. That's it. I didn't really have any questions. We pretty much go each month by the day we get out of the hospital. So every 13th of the month, I start each stage. It sucks but I can't wait for time to be here for real food. It feels like forever. Tssiemer, im.so happy your still with us. I was worried about you for a bit since you aren't on here much anymore. Hopefully you can get surgery done soon too. Probably before Spring. It's gonna be okay.

It is nerve racking to sit around and wait though. It will happen. Don't worry and don't get discouraged. I had my check up with Thompson today. Everything is great. I've lost 15 pounds and I don't have to see him anymore. I see Dr.Ivan in about a month. Can't wait.
