5 protein shakes a day. Every 3 to 3 n a half hours. 80 to 100 protein all together. Don't go over 120. Drink 64 to 80oz of water. We can only have crystal lite type stuff, powerade zero or vitamin water zero. Tea with no real sugar. Like equal or something. Broth, 2 sugar free Popsicles and 2 1/2 cups of sugar free jello. -

Well I found a new drink with protein in it. It is made by Atkins. It's at Walmart. 4 of them for 8 bucks but any break from those milky shakes is heaven. I am feeling so much better today. I guess I will have bad days. This is berry too. I bought some nectar strawberry kiwi protein off amazon. I'm just done with the orignals. I'm following all the guidelines so that's all that matters. I will send a separate message of what we do for pre op. -

I do think it's the new shakes. It's probably the milk in it. I might try watering it down or taking some lactose pills. My stomach still isn't feeling to good so I've been taking it easy today. Just drinking broth and powered zero. Some water too. I think my stomach needs to settle before I do anymore shakes. Even my organic one. I'm keeping myself hydrated. I'm still the same weight as yesterday. Maybe it will change tommrow. -

In 1 week I will be at the hospital getting checked in. So weird to think about. I had a bad day yesterday, I might of drank my shake too fast but I ended up taking a nap then woke up with feeling so nauseous. It was horrible. I felt like I was so full though before hand and ate alot. I didn't do my shakes for the rest of the day n night. I was feeling bad at 4pm. Went into work at 9pm for some inventory, come home and went to bed. Just felt sick all day. I do have ibs and sometimes my stomach feels like this and sore. It's hard to explain. I still feel a little off today. Well my stomach does, but I'm taking it easy. -
Did you guys feel full really easily like by day 6? I drank my protein shake yesterday and it made me so sick feeling. It was like I had ate to much or something.

Day 2 of 14 pre-op diet...help!
MollyF22 replied to RNYDawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am on day 6 of 14. My surgery is next friday. We only get clear liquids. No food. Only 1 cup of jello and 2 popsicles. It's been super rough. Day 2 was horrible. It does get better though. Drinking horrible shakes don't help at all. I had 2 different kinds. I ended up trying Premier Protein. The vanilla kind. It's so good. It's just like a watered down vanilla milkshake. I hope things get better for you. It's gonna be hard but it does get better. Just keep drinking water or something to keep your mind occupied. -

I got the premade. I didn't want to drink shakes that have milk in it since I don't do to well with it but I've been okay and I take medicine with it so it should be fine. Dr. Ivan said all of medicine that I take for my stomach issues are perfectly fine. I have about 9 days. It's really hard to believe. I feel like the days are passing by. It's a good thing though. I figured they would drag. I've been watching tv and doing laundry. Keeping my mind busy and self busy. -

I've also already lost 8 pounds since Saturday. I was 267 and now 259. It's really weird to me. It's hard for me to believe in a way too. Hopefully I can be down to 250 for surgery. -

Medicaid *** Customer Service Reps Playing

Alot of people do a half asked job in these days for some reason. Some people just don't care and only care about their pay check. It's not right and I'm sorry you went through that. -

I am from ohio and have caresource. That's from the state. I am completely paid for and I will have surgery Feb 12th. It was a 9 month process seeing my surgery doctor. I only did 2 clearances. Usually the office you go through or whatever, they will let you know what you need to do and get you through your process. You can ask your primary doctor who you can go too or call around to local places. Search online or ask anyone on here who they have or if anyone is around you. -

That's great! I will say you will have surgery way early march. They let you pick what day you want and time kind of. Like I chose a friday that way my husband could be with me for 3 days at least. It will go fine. Don't worry. Honestly the worst part, is waiting for that call. Your like thinking when could I have it done? And just think about things lol. Mine took 5 days and that's not counting weekends. My insurance was submitted a wed and got the call the next thursday. Diane calls then erica sets up all the rest. Their super nice. I have lost 3 pounds already on this diet. I'm doing pretty good today. Haven't felt to hungry. So I guess maybe the 4th day is a charm? -

I ordered vanilla. I figured it would sit better then chocolate. We can do the nutrifast soups on the diet I believe. The nutritionist talks about everything and goes over all of it. She doesn't seem to friendly but she's not to bad. Do you have any more appointments? -

I am on 2 week liquid diet. My surgery is Feb 12th as well. It's been rough. The protein shakes are gross. I wasn't feeling to great at work and felt like I was gonna pass out, I had to have some small pretzels sticks. It's gonna be okay. We have time to fix our selves hopefully. -

I am using uc protein shakes. They don't fill me up just yet. I also have an organic kind because I don't sit well with milk. They both are horrible. I'm doing okay today. Haven't been to hungry so maybe my stomach is getting used to it? I've been doing the organic one all day and it's been giving me bad head aches I think so I think I might just give up on it. I bought 1 premier protein shake through the mail so it should be here tommrow. I'm gonna try it. If it's good then I'm buying some. My in laws have a Sam's Club card and it's like 18 bucks for a 12 pack there. It would be so much better if they tastes decent you know? -

Hi bloomer! Okay, so I was really bad yesterday. Felt like I was gonna pass out at work. I was bad though and didn't take any shakes with me since my stomach was upset with gas really bad. I didn't want to work 10 hours with that. I did try some broth on lunch and it just didn't fill me up. These shakes aren't filling at all either. I have been starving. As bad as it sounds, yesterday I had some pretzel sticks. The small ones while I was at work. I didn't want to pass out. I kind of figured working 10 hours was a bad idea. And I was stupid for not taking any shakes with me as well. I was light headed and couldn't see straight. I'm doing better today but I do have a sinus infection now. I can take my allergy medicine so I'm doing that. It's making everything so much worse. -

Maymarie, that's awesome you just had surgery. Hopefully everything is going good for you. We won't be to far behind each other. I have mine Feb 12th. This liquid diet is getting pretty hard. I'm starving actually. I got called into work so I've been busy today but it's just alot it seems like. I don't understand how they expect these protein shakes to fill us up right now. I do 8oz. I think dr. Ivan said after a couple days, we will start filling up faster with little. I sure do hope so. I'm getting very tired too. But like I said, I've just been going all day so my body is just trying to catch up. -

Maymarie, you are perfectly fine! Have you had surgery yet? I'm sorry about bragging about pizza. It's my last night to enjoy any favorite food. 2 week liquid diet to start tommrow. Definitely dreading it. It's nice to have someone that isn't to far away too. I live in Cincinnati. Delhi area. We aren't to far apart. -

Bloomer, I had larosas for dinner. Their one of my favorite pizza places besides donatos. They both are kind of expensive but larosas is just down the road so I chose that. I didn't get to drink with my best friend tonight since she changed plans. She usually does so it kind of sucks but I'm not a big drinker anyways so it's not a loss for me. Would of just been nice. I have to work 10 hours on Sunday starting at 630am. I'm not very happy. It's gonna be hard since we will be extra tired from nothing to eat pretty much. I'm just trying to have a positive mind for all of this. I know the end outcome and it's gonna be okay. Can't believe 2 more weeks. Fireman. Uc is University of Cincinnati. Not sure if your from ohio or not. -

Kyboo1972, maybe they are being cautious about the whole blood clot situation. We are at alot of risk with them so that's probably why. We are also at high risk of pneumonia too. It's crazy in a way but we all should be fine. Maybe you can ask what it's about or how they do it. Or look it up? It will all be worth it. Bloomer, I did get weighed every time. When you do your classes though and the appointment with the anesthesiologist then your already submitted to the insurance, you will be okay I think if you gain if something happens. The nutritionist put my wrong weight down the day of the class. She had me 250 and then the pre op class I was 270 so I gained from 20 pounds within a day. Dr Ivan caught it. I've been going to west chester 3 different times within a week. I'm so glad it's over until surgery. I drive like 45 mins. -

I can't even tell you guys how crazy everything seems. My mind has been on nothing else but this surgery since I found out my date. I feel kind of obsessed about it in a way. But it's gonna be so life changing and my 1st real major surgery. I had a csection but haven't been officially put under. I'm still really excited. Just so nervous. -

Fireman9302, are you going through UC? After my last appointment they submit my insurance in for all the reviews. It takes 1 week to 45 days to get approved. I was approved after 8 days. I then had to do 2 different classes. 1 with the nutritionist and then 2nd one with my PA for pre op. Just go over all the hospital stuff. I just had an appointment today with the anesthesiologist. I got my blood drawn and they talked medicines and did a view over my body. I'm all done until I get surgery done on Feb 12th. I start my liquid diet friday. Only 1 more day to enjoy everything I need to eat. I'm going to be enjoying sangria with my best friend later and enjoy anything I can to eat. It's really weird though because I've lost a couple more pounds. I'm surprised. Kyboo1972, I have never heard of a blood clot filter being put in. It's really weird too. If you don't have any problems like that then they shouldn't worry about. Hopefully you can lose the weight you need too in order for your surgery. I'm sure you can. 6 months will fly by. I did this process for 10 months now. It's definitely all worth it. -
My insurance took about 8 days to be processed. And that wasn't counting the weekend. My doctor said any where between 1 week to 45 days for most insurance companies. But it is really hard waiting for that special call. It really is the worst part. It will be here soon though. Just think of the waiting period as a learning process. I have been doing this for 10 months. It's been a little bit of a long road in a way but then it's went by so fast too. It's coming so fast. Feb 12th is my date. I hope you hear something soon.
