  1. @@manji2013 Good Luck to you!!! Please keep us posted as to how you're doing! I wish you the speediest of recoveries. @@Cervidae THANK YOU! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing fantastic! I can only hope to be as successful as you only a few weeks out from surgery. xo
  2. Yay! Glad you reached out to me We'll talk more, but congrats on your surgery date!!
  3. Good Morning BP Friends! Tomorrow is my BIG day and I am full of more emotions than I think I've ever been! I am excited and nervous and scared all at the same time! I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who have shared your stories, both good and bad, on this website or your personal blogs. I have learned a lot from all of you. Some of you have scared the living crap out of me, some of you have made me laugh and smile and some of you have given me some amazing recipe ideas (especially with how to change up the protein) but most of all...ALL OF YOU have inspired me! I am so thankful to have found this website and be around other people who GET IT. I am also thankful to those of you who have asked the questions I didn't think to ask or was afraid to ask. You have been my voice more times than you could know. This road has been long and bumpy, but I know in the end every frustration or tear shed out of hunger (I've been on the pre-op diet for a month straight now..there have been a lot of tears! LOL) will be worth every minute of my new life. I know it won't be easy. I know it will take some getting used to. But I've been determined for the past 6-7 months to get to this point, I refuse to give up now. Thanks again everyone and I can't wait to be on the loser's bench! =) xo, Niki
  4. @@mimic86 Thanks girl! Congrats on your weight loss so far!
  5. Good Luck to you!! My surgery is tomorrow so I know exactly how you are feeling!! Keep us posted on how you're doing and I wish you a very speedy recovery! xo
  6. Congrats to you and good luck! I wish you a speedy recovery
  7. So nervous, surgery is on Wednesday! I can't believe the day is almost here..all of the hard work I've put in will finally pay off! So happy for the rest of you September surgery buddies!
  8. As somebody who has yet to have surgery, I appreciate your list and will be keeping an eye on this thread to see what other advice/suggestions people have to offer. This is incredibly helpful, thank you =)
  9. @@Anxious2beme Good Luck!!! Let us know when you hear back!! xo
  10. @@Leesa926 I started the process with my insurance in February and my surgery is next week. It will be exactly 7 months to the day I have my surgery that I started the process. My insurance required 6 months of consecutive weigh ins, along with a myriad of other exams and procedures, but it will be well worth it.
  11. @@jameka229 I have been on the diet since 08/05. My dietician started me on it earlier than normal to get a good head start on liver shrinkage and weight loss. So by the time I actually have the surgery, I'll have been on that diet for almost a month. Then, I'll still be on some form of a liquid diet. It has been and will continue to be a struggle, but I know when I get that first taste of some kind of food..it will be so worth it LOL I have a good support group, too. So glad that we all have people in our lives who are along with us for the journey and want us to be successful and healthy Thank you for the well wishes, as I wish you the same! xo
  12. @@jameka229 I'm counting, but I'm also finding myself going back and forth on my decision. I think last night when I was cooking dinner for everyone else I had a little breakdown for the first time since I started this journey. It isn't easy, but I know it'll be worth it
  13. @@stacyg1 You are amazing and have come a long, long way! Congratulations on your weight loss and your journey! You should be so proud of yourself and although our situations are different, I strive to be as successful as you've been thus far. This person is probably jealous because you look ten times better than they do I would just shake that &*$% off and keep on keeping on. You need to remember to NEVER let anyone dull your sparkle! xo
  14. @@jameka229 Hello! I'm one day after you! I'm very nervous, too. You are not alone I've accepted your friend request! Feel free to message me if you'd like to chat about anything and everything xoxo
  15. @@chasingchloee Congratulations!!! So happy for you 9/23 is the day of my 15th wedding anniversary, so it should be a good day for the both of us! Good luck to you sweetie!! xo
  16. @@Anxious2beme Glad to hear your EKG was all clear! He probably took a sample of the acids in your stomach and your esophagus to make sure you don't have H. Pylori as well as the cells that would cause Barrett's Esophagus. (at least they did this for me, not sure if its routine to be honest) The good news is, if you are pre-diabetic, the likelihood of not becoming a diabetic with this surgery (or becoming no longer diabetic) is pretty good! Sounds like things are going smoothly. Hopefully they will submit and will approve based on you completing all of your steps, with others scheduled for the future. If not, you just keep trucking along and eventually you will get your day! Keep up the good work and thanks for the update! Good luck on your mammo tomorrow!! xo
  17. Hello, I'm in Sacramento an surgery for me is in 6 days. I have 3 boys at home and am also looking for friends to help me through this process. Feel free to send me a message and friend me
  18. @@GAgirlslimming Congrats on your surgery and best wishes for your recovery! I think the Protein you might be referring to is Premier Protein, but I could be wrong. This is the one that I have seen A LOT of people using after surgery that is available at both costco and Sam's/Walmart. There are a lot of protein options out there, though, but I think this might be the one you're referring to
  19. @@byebyefat Congratulations on getting your surgery date! Not much longer now for most of us!
  20. @@tssiemer We are only human and mistakes happen. Don't beat yourself up for it! Just try to get back on your path and remember what your end result is! Keep your head up - YOU GOT THIS!
  21. Congratulations!!! Things can only get better from here
  22. @@vhude Congrats!! I sent you a friend request @@Knitchic Congrats to you!! September 23 is my 15th wedding anniversary! Should be a great day for both of us
  23. @@dhrguru Ketosis is something I did not think about! I woke up this morning with the worst taste in my mouth and couldn't figure out for the life of me what the heck it was - I brushed my teeth before bed! Ketosis explains it! Thank you for bringing that to my attention @@kevmasci Hi! Welcome to BP and good luck on your revision! I don't know if you're allowed pudding on your diet, but sugar free rice pudding (Jell-O Brand) saves me on my pre-op diet! I though it would be gross but I was dead wrong and it has been one of my favorite things about this diet, and the unsweetened applesauce! My surgery is next week and I am full of nerves, but I know that the rewards outweigh the risks so I start thinking positive and remind myself that I'm choosing to save my life and I calm down. I trust my surgeon, I trust his staff and I know I'm going to be ok. Keep your head up and know that we're all here for you xo
  24. @@Jennifer Schneider Hi Jennifer! Wishing you the best of luck in your journey! How long have you been working on this?
