    Calories Don't Matter?

Perhaps age can be a factor Momcat, I'm 27 years old. I was sleeved 8/21/2015, SW 359, CW 238, I lost 121 pounds so far but I still have 88 to go. I'm 5'9 and my goal weight is 150. That would make my BMI within normal "healthy" range but my surgeons goal for me was 165/170. He told me quite honestly that 150 for me was doable just that it might take 2 years.

    Calories Don't Matter?

Awesome advice kindle. I'm 6 months post op and lost over a 100 pounds as well. I definitely feel as though I'm on the right track but it's always good to hear from other sleevers as well. Thanks for sharing

    Calories Don't Matter?

Thanks livvsmum, I want to try and stay under 20. I was originally under 50 carbs a day and that led to me losing 106 pounds after vsg now I need to kick things up a bit to lose an additional 80 pounds. I already work out 5-6 days a week so I definitely need to watch the carbs. I figure I have a nice reserve lol

    Calorie guides?

Pillars butterfly did you work out? Less than 10g of fat and 10g of carbs per food serving? I'm going to try this.

    6 months post op today ! ;o)

Also Shellyd67, I have some advise for the constipation because mine used to be really bad as well (a downside for a high protein diet). I take a colace about 100mg every other day, it's a stool softener not a laxative so it doesn't makes you go or give you cramps it just makes it easier to go. I also take 2 tablespoons of metamucil free and clear fiber (odorless & flavorless) inside a 16 ounce water bottle everyday. I started this regime about two weeks ago and this helped me tremendously. I use to spend 30-45 min in the restroom due to constipation now I go every other day and usually 10 min or less. Everyone is different so try it and let me know.

    6 months post op today ! ;o)

Congrats Shellyd67! I'll be 6 months post op on 2/21. So far I'm down 100 pounds as well. SW 349 CW 249.6 ( that damn. 6 lol) But so far no regrets. I finally went shopping yesterday and got a 1X dress from forever 21 that fit perfectly, I used to wear a 26/28 W or 4X now I'm in a women's 18 and 1x! My goal weight is 150 pounds which would put me in a normal weight category for a 5'8 women so I still have another 100 pounds to lose. I'm confident that I'll get there by at least February 2017 which my surgeon recommended. 18 months to lose 200 pounds sounded impossible when he told me now after loosing 100 in 6 months nothing is.
  11. I weighed in this morning at 249.6 HW was 349 I lost 100 pounds! Still can't fathom it and I almost cried this morning because I almost didn't do the surgery listening to my husband and my mom. Screw them, lol. So glad I prayed and trusted myself to make the right choice. I still am far away from goal (150 pounds) but I'm committed to getting there. I now know that with a lot of hard work and dedication anything is possible.
  12. Go Lisa_85! 1 month out I was barely able to walk 15_20min because I had zero energy. That's awesome your active 7 days a week, you should see results fast

What about the naked juices? Has anyone tried those? Did they cause dumping?
  14. I was sleeved 8/21/2015. On the 21st of February I will be 6 months post op. I've lost 96 pounds, HW 359 CW 253 GW 150, I'm 5'8. I started walking about 1 week post op mostly 10-15min around my neighborhood now I have 2 gym memberships (Planet Fitness and YMCA) and I work out 4X a week. 75 min of cardio and usually 15 min of weights. I switch up the cardio between the bike, elliptical, arc trainer, or treadmill with the incline. Once I get in onederland and fall below 200 I'm going to cut down on the cardio and add more strength training for toning. So far I like my results. Exercising plays a big part in our success. I almost remind myself that it's a lifestyle change. Fitness is everything to me now.
  15. I had fast food for the first time today. I had a wake up wrap from dunkin donuts. It's small so it's the perfect portion size. It consist of turkey sausage, cheese. And a veggie egg. It was so delicious and most importantly it went down easy. The nutritional breakdown is about 260 calories, 12g protein, 14 carbs, and 17g of fat. This is something not to be eaten everyday but I had one at 7am and didn't eat again til 1pm! Then at 1 all I had was a protein shake. Any sleevers had fast food yet? If so please share.
  16. So true I'm always cold. Never was before in fact I used to be the one in the house always turning the AC in the 50's and 60's. Now I'm always freezing and sleep with a heating pad. I also have low iron so that may have something to do with it. At my last lab appointment I was borderline anemic and my surgeon advised additional supplements

    Birth control

Depo shot not deposit shot. Darn auto-correct
  18. ProudMomof2

    Birth control

I'm on the deposit shot and have been now for about 3 years. It's not recommended for long-term use due to the fact that it causes you to lose done density hence why they advise you take a calcium and vitamin D supplement while on the shot. One of the side effects is increased appetite which is why a lot of women on the shot gain weight. I haven't had any problems and I enjoy only having a cycle every 3 months but to each it's own.

  21. Great job Court3625! With only three pounds to go you would surely reach her goal by February
  22. Me too Margie122!I'm hoping to reach 100 pounds lost by my 6 month check in. I also want good labs so I been staying on top of my vitamins. At my last check up my iron was dangerously low.

    Hit Doctor's Goal Today

I was sleeved on 8/21 and my personal goal is 170 pounds. My surgeon goal was around 150. My HW was 349 and today I weighed in at 253. I made a short term goal to get 248 at my 6 month post op which is about a month away. I really want to be able to say I lost 100 pounds in 6 months. I'm 83 pounds away from goal and it just seems so far away. But I will keep working hard at the gym and clean eating because I'm determined to not give up
