  1. I had the same sort of pain about 4 weeks post op. I called and spoke to the dietician. She sugessted that we move to the next phase of food and that I keep a better eye on exactly how much I am eating. The pain can be caused from under and over eating. Mine was from under. I added cheese sticks and more fluids and it has helped greatly.

  2. Yes I have been meaning to post. I got banded on 2/7/08. So i am 6 days post op. I am in alot of pain still and the left shoulder pain is miserable, but I am trucking through. I actually called the nurse today and they moved me up the food chain to mushies, cause I was have pain in my sternum.

Please tell me that this goes away and soon I will be able to eat like normal, except smaller again. I think I might be dehydrated. I feel like all I do is eat, but I am lucky if I can get 3-4 oz. down. and of course I don't want to fill up on water! but, Water sounds so good!.

Thanks for the thoughts i will keep you posted, I can't wait to start working out!

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

I have my upper GI this morning! Yummy!

Hope all is well witheveryone and thanks for the well wishes and support!

  4. Shelly,

every insurance is different. Most insurance does not cover the fills. But, they will the office visit. My dr. will not even bill the fill appointments. So he said I could. My insurance will cover the appointment, fluroscope, needles and saline, but not the procedure. Crazy i know. They give you this wonderful tool , but won't help you use it! I am just going to submit them to my insurance and get what I can. My dr. does not charge alot for fill about $100 and he is trying to do them in the office instead of Hospital so he thinks they should go down to about $70. I am OK with that. It is one of those things. I thought I would just save the money from McDonalds and use it for the fills . lol

And yea they will send everything in writing.

  5. Thanks Jen

Well I got my approval TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! YEah!!!

I finally got upset last friday 1/11/08 and told them to just freakin submit the claim to the insurance. So on Monday the nirse was trying to figure out where to submit it to, because she wanted a person not just to send it in. On wednesday she found that person, then on Thursday they said that I did not try hard enough to lose weight from the end of 2005 to present. At first I was schocked and then I thought wait one minute...I was pregnant! From 12/2005 to 8/25/06 I was pregnant with my beautiful baby girl, Isabella. Then I breastfeed her for 8 months that brought us to 4/2007 after that I did South Beach the Entire summer and in October 2007 I went to the Dr. to get some real help. The nurse forwarded this information to the insurance company Thursday afternoon. Laura, the nurse, called me this morning and said that when she came in this morning there was a voicemail from my insurance saying that I was approved. Laura said I am going in the record books as the fastest and easiest approval. I told her she was making it to difficult!

So I have any appointment with the Dr. on tuesday and the I will schedule the surgery. i am so nervous. I can't stand it!

Any advice on the surgery procedure?

  6. I got my insurance verbal approval today! I made my appointment with the Dr. for tuesday. OMG could i do this is month? I am so nervous that my hands my sweating.

I am doing a happy dance!

So what happens now? What do I do? Do I tell my work?

Sorry just a little freak out!

  7. Yes. Call your insurance directly it should only take a few minutes (in insurance time). But, if they already told you if it was med. ness. they would cover it, then I would find a Dr. and let them do the rest. Most insurance companies do not cover the fills and that is why you need to attend a meeting and get info from a doctor. They can tell you how much a fill/dr appointment is.

  8. I have not yet. I am waiting and waiting and waiting on the nurse at Immanuel to get all the info to the insurance. I already know that my insurance covers it, so I am not really worried about that. I guess I am just impatient.

I am using dr. Hovey he is new to Dr. Whites group at Immanuel. I live in Blair so we thought it would just be more convinent than the Med Center.

Did you get that hernia fixed or are you waiting?

Do you know how to get that ticker tape thingy up? I made one, but for the life of me I cannot figure where to put it so it shows up, I figure it is somewhere in the signature, but I don;t know.

  9. Since insurance does not cover the fills has anyone in Nebraska found one doctor cheaper than the other?

I was told that they would run around $150, but that Dr. Hovey was looking into doing them in the office (right now done at Immanuel) and that would make them cheaper, about $75-$100.

Do these prices seem right, cause I was reading other posts and they were saying the fills in Chicago are $1,000. I almost threw up (great diet). I can't afford that and if that is the case I need to know now.

Also do the fills hurt. I truly hate needles, need laughing gas at the dentist. I could not be poked repeatedly for years. I would just stop going.:)

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks
