    Period problems

I got my first one 3 days after surgery ... and without being able to take Midol anymore ... it was horrible! Cramps and post-op pain? UGH ! I thought I would be lost without my Midol ... but doc says I can take Tylenol rapid release gels ... and those help for the most part ... The 2nd one was 1 week early and seemed to be pretty light ... cramps were still there though ... I agree with previous comments about it being because of weight loss ... But hey ... as long as the weight is coming off ... I'll deal with cramps !

  11. I 2nd EVERYTHING said above ... GO TO THE DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL !!!! You are not doing yourself any good right now ... this is about YOU ... take care of YOU ... No time like the present !
  12. I've heard that going through a "regular" bariatric doctors office does have a lot of tests and visits with other doctors, etc ... I went through True Results ... like you see on TV ? I met with them in Feb. ... I had to get off my timed released medication before I could have surgery ... ( pretty strong stuff for my arthritis ) BUT .. if I wasn't on that ... I was scheduled for March 4th .... But once I got off the timed released medication at the end of May ... I had to re-do the blood work, which was fine .. but then after the new blood work came back the middle of June ... I was scheduled for July 8th ... I really enjoyed my experience at True Results ... AND it was much faster!!!
  13. Sleeve was my first surgery ever ... I was afraid of not waking up ... I was afraid of the pain ... I was afraid of being hungry ... I was afraid of feeling left out because I couldn't dine out for a while ... notice ... I used past tense ... After surgery ... things completely change ... I am no longer afraid of anything ... And give yourself time and the proper support system ... and you won't be afraid anymore either

    Nervous

My sleeve surgery was the very 1st surgery I've ever had ... and I'm 44 ! I cried for weeks beforehand ... I ate like a little piggy ... because I knew afterward I couldn't ... I changed my mind a thousand times ... BUT .... Afterward ... THIS is where I want to be NOT ... The insecure person from BEFORE ... the person who couldn't walk very far ... the person who had to sit on the sidelines and WATCH life go by ... AFTER is the place you want to be ... Trust us ... We've been there ... and we know what we're talking about! You need to rest assured this is the RIGHT decision and the BEST decision ... LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO SPEND IT WATCHING IT PASS YOU BY !!! Prayers of love and support are being sent your way! If HE brings you to it .... HE will bring you through it

    Return To Work

I was sleeved on July 8 and back to work on July 27th ... and coming back was the BEST thing for me ... I was so "out of it" at home ... dopey/sleepy/grumpy and every other dwarf ! But coming back forced me to push through it and focus on other things ... the first few days I was SO TIRED when I got home I just went to bed ... Thank God for my husband! But the past week has been great ... I'm getting back to the old me ... I say as long as you're feeling ready ... or maybe a little unsure ... just try a day or two ... or try a half day .. don't push yourself too much ... you don't want to go backwards in the healing process! Your body will let you know

    Sex

we can have sex after surgery? really?! LOL I told my doctor to tell me in front of my husband that sex is forbidden forever after surgery ... LOL ... Oh the little things we women do to try and get out of it ... ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaa Hubby didn't buy it for a minute ....

    Nausea when smelling food...help!

isn't that just the most odd thing ? that has happened to me too ... the thing that set me off the most ... was Cheerios !! so strange ... but as time goes on , it goes away ... have you noticed things you once loved ... now you cannot stand ? for me it was tomato Soup .... I thought during this process that I'd at least have my tomato soup to lean on ... but the first couple of sips ... YUCK !!!!! and the smell of it .. ewwww Just so strange how a change in your stomach ... makes your taste buds and smeller go all wacky !
  18. I have trouble with this rule too ... and I drink tiny sips when I eat if I feel the need to and I've not had any troubles ... i do try not to drink while i eat ... but if i get thirsty, i'll take a sip or two ... i just think the reason for the rule is so that your body will take in the vitamins/nutrients from the food first ... makes sense ... but sometimes, you're just thirsty !

    Fatigue....

I was so tired the first 4 weeks ... like other people said .. taking a shower ... WOW ... I had to nap afterward! And they tell you to walk walk walk .... I wanted to cry everytime ... it was such an effort just to hold my head up .... I just wasn't taking in enough "fuel" to keep me going ... and I wasn't drinking enough either ... so make sure you SIP SIP SIP ... SO IMPORTANT !!! After the 3rd week ... I came back to work ... I work full time as an office manager ... and coming back to work was the best thing for me ... it really made me push through it and focus on other things rather than how crappy I was feeling .... and now ... 6 weeks out ... I'm good as new ! Be patient ... energy will come ... we're all testament to that !
  20. I am having SUCH trouble with IRON! I couldn't find a liquid of a chewable ... so I have just the regular tablets ... very small in size ... so I crush them ... and I CAN NO LONGER stomach the taste of them! It's like literally drinking a piece of METAL ... YUCK! I have emailed my doc office and have yet to hear back ... If anyone has any kind of suggestion ... I welcome them! thanks a bunch!
  21. Thank you Merry ! I appreciate your information
  22. Thank you Kate ! I will certainly look that up !
  23. I had a difficult time figuring that out too...I used canned chicken and put it through my Magic Bullet and then added low fat mayo and just ate it with a spoon. I also eat Greek yogurt, soup and scrambled eggs. Seemed to work out for me. I know there will be a lot of other suggestions and I look forward to reading them too!

    Anxiety and frustration

I know the last thing you want to hear is be patient, things happen for a reason. But I promise you ITS TRUE! I waited for over 6 years for my surgery...I had to watch my sister and 3 cousins and 1 co-worker have their surgeries while I cried and suffered. But, when my time FINALLY came it was bing, bang, boom! And here I am starting my 5th week post-op! All the suffering and waiting and crying OVER! And so worth the wait! You will get there when you're meant to I promise!
