  1. Oh Trinn! That bites! Praying it goes away quickly! Keep us updated! I mentioned my left side pain earlier. We went out to eat my "last" meal tonight. Son of a gun I started hurting really badly. It's mostly passed now except for a slight nagging feeling like it usually is. I think it's related to gas somehow because I seem to be pass it more when the pain is worse. I'm going to ask what all bloodwork they run tomorrow at pre-op and see if they will throw in the pancreas bloodwork and then I'm going to ask the surgeon before on Tuesday morning about looking around inside before cutting just to put my mind at ease some.

OH! And I'm about to get my toes pretty and get all packed. We hit the road to New Orleans at 8 am sharp!

  2. Yeah I have a feeling I'm going to be a you know what during post op diet. I'm going to try my best not to be afterward though. I chose this and need to try and not take my aggravation out on anyone else in my household. 2 days to go! Still totally freaking about health stuff. I have spent so much time online researching the symptoms of this left side pain I've been having since November. Biggest fear is something being wrong with me and going through this surgery. I have GOT to give this to God and trust that I'm ok.

  3. Getting closer guys! Still freaking out. Had a pizza and ramen noodle food funeral tonight. Oh and brownies. I'm not required to do a pre-op diet other than clears the day before. I'm HOPING to do full liquids tomorrow and clears Monday since I ate so bad today. Smoking...wasn't a requirement to quit BUT going to do my best to before. I know I won't smoke after. Too scared to. How's everyone else doing?

  4. If there's already a topic started for that date, if you could point me there that would be great. If not, here is one for Sept 1 peeps :) I'm nervous as all get out. All kinds of crap going through my head. I know if not for the before/after pics I see here and on FB I would have already backed out because of fear. I go from freaking out to super excited about what will be accomplished by the end of the year and by this time next year and how much better I will feel. I just am scared of complications from surgery and also scared of other health issues that may be going on that I don't know about or that may pop up and having a sleeve may further complicate them. I guess just the unknown. Hope to find some 9/1 buddies!

  5. I have surgery Tuesday and fighting this demon as well. I will not let myself smoke after surgery but stopping before is proving crazy hard. I hear for the first little bit afterwards that you don't even want one. However, I am armed with a low nicotine vape and a bottle of zero nicotine juice too. I plan on putting the zero nicotine in but I am not going to allow myself to even touch that until I'm discharged and then I'll try and dare myself to go an hour...and another hour...and so forth. I plan on only using the low nicotine vape and no cigs from Sunday til surgery. We shall see. Prayers for all of us!

  6. That's amazing!!! Thank you all for responding! Gotta get myself mentally prepared. So scared of everything like complications from surgery, what if I have other health problems to deal with after sleeve, the mental issues that come with losing food as comfort. Still have to quit smoking before surgery. But, Monday, I lay the cigarettes down and start eating low carb. Surgery will be the next Tuesday. Just praying I can do those two things and get through with no complications and get my life changed for the better.

  7. Thanks Amazon! Yes, we are all so different. I, myself, have PCOS and have gained weight REALLY fast this year. Which is what prompted me to have the surgery now. I had POSE (it's in fda trials now) back in 2011 at 230 lbs. I lost down to 168 but never got below that. POSE is sooooo not close to the restriction that you get from sleeve but back then being cash pay I was scared to do the sleeve. Well, fast forward 4 years, a baby, fighting weight gain for about 2 years but kept it off and then BAM! Blink my eyes and 30 lbs back on me since March. So..I know I've got some issues working against me but I also know my stomach is stretched back out and I'm not satisfied on the smaller portions any longer. I also have my head wrapped around the fact that if I push it, I'll regain again and I refuse to do that. This is it for me so I'm praying all goes well and I'll get to goal and be grown up enough to keep myself there ;) However, it is good to see those without 100 or more to lose hitting their goal because I know we don't lose as fast as those with over 100 to lose so I wondered if that affected the end result.

  8. I have POSE and failed at about 3.5 years out. I let myself slowly stretch my stomach back out. I've gained back 30 pounds and I was still 30 from goal when I started gaining. My aches and pains are back, my low energy is back, my moodiness and probably mild depression, is back. I am ready to surpass what I was able to do with POSE, take the lessons I learned and go even farther and be the best me I can be. I have a house full of clothes that weren't even goal size that within 4 months I could no longer fit into. I can't' wait to throw all those out because they are too big. I have an 11 year old son who begs me to swim and do things with him and I just deflect. I have a 2.5 year old princess that we tried for for 6 years and I'm letting the most fun years with her pass me by because I'm back in my funk. I'm ready to get back to living and loving and being fun to be around and decreasing the risks for all the weight related diseases I'm headed toward if I don't take care of this crap now. Praying for surgery date early in September.

  9. Hey guys. I had POSE in June 2011. Lost 61 lbs and was within 25 lbs of goal when I got pregnant (which is one reason I had the procedure). Had our miracle baby in Nov 2012, lost all the weight from pregnancy, picked back up with bootcamps and started cross fit. Had to quit cross fit in November 2014 and in March the weight started piling back on. Lack of exercise, my stomach was stretched back out prior to the weight gain, I just kept the weight off with a buttload of working out and only maintained. Multiple nodules were found on my thyroid but benign, have PCOS...so a couple things working against me there plus what I caused myself. Anyway, now I've gained right at 30 lbs and will be going for a revision soon. There's more to my story but just wanted to share a little about me. Right now, I'm just wondering how many here have had POSE and revised to sleeve? Sleeve is what I originally wanted but insurance won't cover and I was scared of complications. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have done sleeve to begin with. If you're revised from POSE, please share your experience with me. Thank you in advance!
