    +++++++protein++++++++

    I actually love meats But sometimes, I just eat small amounts of food and I feel afraid that I won't get the minimum required amount of Protein, thats why I want to make it a habit of taking these suppliments to make sure I'm getting the needed protien....

    +++++++protein++++++++

    Or let me re-phrase my question... How do you get your daily protien?

    +++++++protein++++++++

    Hi Sue, I'm eating solid food now, but you mis-understood me. I meant what are the good protein sources aside from food. I know shakes is one of them, but I think its very high in calories, so what are the other options (pills, powder, etc...) or maybe even some low calorie shakes IF they are avilable.... Thanks

    lap band LONG TERM

    BUT even if you had your band for 10 years (assuming that you need to remove it after that for complications) Don't you think that 10 years is way more than enough time to lose all the weight you need, and learn, double learn and triple learn the good eating habits, that you can continue being thin without the band. I guess its a win win situation. Don't worry, be happy

    lap band LONG TERM

    If you got the band...you will surely lose weight. Band meant to be perminent, HOWEVER, in worst case scenario a little operation and you can get rid of the band As simple as that
  6. have a long story so please be patinet with me.. I only got my band 1 week ago... When I first got the band I used to consume very little Soup or other beverage and feel very fulfilled, with a nice sensation in the top of my stomach telling me to stop. However, in the past few days I’ve been feeling a very little restriction from the band, or almost non. I’m afraid I had slipped my band, or if it shifted a little down, thus, expanding the size of the pouch on top (casue I vomited and will tell you more about that below). My question is feeling a little or no restriction a sign of a band slippage or anything bad? or it could be juts that I healed up well after the operation?. Right after the operation the most I could get down was a small bowl of soup, so today I decided to run a test on my stomach during the dinner time. I ate 2 small bowls of soup, I drank 2 glasses of Water, each one of these glasses in one gulp or shot, and few slices of smoked salmon. Yet, I felt VERY little restriction and I would’ve been able to go for a little more if I wanted. <O:p</O:p I just feel afraid that I might have either slipped or mis-located my band or my port and that cuase once I vomitted real hard after taking some horrible meds. Question is What are the symptoms of having the band slipped, mis-located or shifted down... and what I have (the fact I can eat a lot) means I have something bad, keep in mind that I feel golden and nothing hurts inside me.. Thanks a lot, and sorry for the long long post..

    The 10 Rules from Inamed

    I just got my band a week ago in France. And as you can tell the Europeans have a different point of view... Their point of view is: Now you eat MUCH less than before (very limited quantaties) thus, you would lose a lot of weight.. So as a result, there is no harm in enjoying yourself occasionally, that doesn't mean to eat all junk food. but since your food intake is reduced greatly, then there is no harm to pamper yourself here and there. Persoanally, I'm enjoying myself in little quantities (which happen to be all I can eat after the band) with some shakes, lattes, fatty foods sometimes... This a life-long change, and you have to make it easier to live, you can't spend the rest of your life worrying about if you drank a latte or not, enjoy yourself ocassianlly and you would still lose weight, maybe not as fast, but you WILL STILL LOSE THE WEIGHT.. Enjoy yourself, still with your limited food intake, even the bad choices aren't as harmful as before the band.. Just my 2 cents:scared:
  10. Sherry and New.. Thanks a lot for your comforting words, I guess you are totally right, that all what is happening with me is that the swelling of the op is going down, and I'm healing really well.. I called my doc. office today but he wasn't there, so I explained everything to his assistant and she assured me that everything is golden with me, and these are no signs of slippage or anything bad whatsoever. Actually these are signs of good healing, and my body is accepting the band nicely... Thanks a lot guys, and YOU ARE THE BEST

    caffeine to be or not to be

    Hehehehhwhwhw Guys do you call drinking lattes a caffeine consumption??? I used to drink 5 cups of BLACK coffee, not the Dunkin Doughnts kinda of black coffee, but European black coffee (sort of like esspreso). And it had killed me over the years (although I enjoyed it):biggrin1: I know that caffeine gives you lots of heart burn, stomach acid, espically if consumed with no food before, and it dehydrates you A LOT...just as leener said Quit the caffeine, trust me its better to quit it, plus you will never have to use those sleeping pills again once you do:sorry:
  12. Hi all, I've been around this froum for a while, but just got banded a week ago, and I'm wondering what are the foods we could eat and the foods we could not eat... For example I tried some of these and found them easy to eat Smoked Salmon chicken nuggets Soups Please try to write me a list of what you can eat and what you can't and it will be GREATLY appreacited
  13. I smoke 30-40 cigs a day :confused: (what a loser I am) anyhow, my surgeon told me that it has nothing to do with the band, its just bad for the lungs and I should quit etc... To be honest with you, latley I had cut my smoking to almost 8 cigs a day only by using the patch.. IMO I find it stupid to keep smoking. I mean we got our bands to live healthier and longer, isn't smoking the complete opposite from that?? I wish you can quit, and we can all quit this evil
  14. Hi all :eek: I just got my mid-band 6 days ago in France with Dr. Frering:clap2: , so finally I'm a bandster:scared: ++++I have few very important questions++++ In the past 3 days I got the worst sinus/cold you can ever imagine.. I've been sneezing a lot, and everytime I do, my port HURTS a lot, is that noraml? (keep in mind I only got my band 6 days ago) The other question, I was given a very big antibiotic pill for the sinus, so I had to crush it and sollow it, but in that process, I vomited real hard (only one push or hit or PB), that I felt my port jumped out of my stomach with soooooooo much pain in its area... Is that normal? do u think I might get the port mis-located with the sneezing and vmoiting? or i might already slip my band?? Sorry for this weird question and symptoms, but you are my savior guys... Thanks a lot guys,

    Lap Band Passport?

    So the band would always ring in the airport detector? I just got my band a week ago.... Does it always ring? or only sometimes????
  16. Thanks Betje, I'm a proud mid-bander today:clap2: Kat: Thats is no problem at all, I paid for it 6500 e. And that includes everything, the 2 days sleep at the hospital, the endoscopy and the operation And I have say that I think Dr. Frering is one of BEST in the world, if not the best. He had done more than 4500 opretaion. God, the day I went for surgury there were 10 other people just like me (getting the band). So he is very experinced, and I hear that other sugeons just wish to practice with him, meaning, I was reading on the net and some surgueon uses this piece of info in their CV (worked under Dr. Frering in France) Thanks god, I'm very happy for choosing him, please let me know if you need any more info:)
  17. Hi just wondering if anyone in here got banded by the "Brigham and Women's" Hospital in Boston, MA around this forum. or at ANY other hosp or doctor in Boston, MA.

  21. OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGG:angry :angry I'm debating between a surgeon who'd done 4000 and another who had done 3000..... Plus NEVER get a lier doctor :angry :angry :angry Whether he'd done 5 or 5000 band. Never trust a lier. PERIOD

    Can you drink Sodas?

    Guys.... Thank you sooooo much for your inputs, I don't know how would I do if it wasn't for you:) :)
  23. Hi all, I'm losing my mind in deciding between those 3 bands. I'm scheduled to have the Mid-band in one month, but I don't know any person who got it. All what I'm relying on is lousy data from some forums around the web, which I don't know if its true or not. I personally know few people who got the Swedish band, and are happy with it. So I don'ttttttttttttt knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Hellllllllllllllllllllllllppppppp
  24. Betje..... Oh boy,,, you really comforted me. Today I talked to my doctor and got some of the questions that were really bothering me answerd. So your input came to complete my comfort. I will do it with Dr. Frering in Lyon France, But who was your doctor?
