  5. Thanks for the support....I'm starting to get growling during the day now....first time since surgery. I feel like I'm just plugging along slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly.......I've started walking every day for a 1/2 hour.n agaikn its not even a month since surgery and had pneumonia so I think I'm doing well considering. sharon:)
  6. I agree.....I'm a nurse and I can tell you every physician appears to be different for the same surgery...my surgeon two weeks out I was on chicken salad, tuna salad etc. Moderators need to keep things in focus.....all physicians' have their own "thing" but remember we all had the same surgery. sharon;)
  7. These don't have what my vitamins have in therm, especially the calcium. sharon;)
  8. No, but thank you. I will look for it. My husband is retired and always does the shopping but now I have to go out not and get what I need. Bummer :purplebananna:...... Ct. 11. yes she is a little far out from surgery for "gas" but I doubt that it is od that is paying her back 9hahaha) I continue to have arm pain in my left arm and shoulder and I wonder if it was positioning during surgery. Its not gas that I'm sure of......beans oh my....I can't imagine... sharon;)
  12. That's all that matters, is your plan, your life......this is a tool not a threat.... good luck sharon;)
  13. my doctor was fine with what I ate. As long as I wasn't having anything I had to chew he was okay with it. Soft foods like cottage cheese was ok with him. All doctors have their own script of what they want you to do....and all of those patients lived just fine. Some people leave with a fill right after surgery, some leave with clears for one week then regular food....at two weeks my doctor told me as long as I chew chew chew I could eat almost anything except salads, which I miss desperately. That I can't have until my next visit on 4/16. Good luck...talk to the office and I'm sure you get some direction.
  14. yes I started eating creamed soups, cottage cheese and yogurt without a problem. and 4 weeks our I am eating rice/ chicken/ tuna I've stayed away from breads, I do eat scrambled eggs too. I get my first fill on the 16th. Good luck to you you'll be just fine
  15. Congratulations...you are on your way with the rest of us!!! It is a great relief when it is done. Remember after surgery walk walk walk.... sharon:)
  16. get your fill but hold off on the salad a little while longer. I too am missing salads desperately but when I met with MD last time he said hold off until next visit which is 4/16. I was banded on 3/12 goodluck
  17. its the gas...walk walk walk that wil disipate as time goes on....don't beat yourelf up it is a process
  18. how are you losing so fast? I was banded on the 12th of March and have lost only 15 lbs. I'm not eating much yet its not coming off?? I'm thinking of going back to Protein shakes but I know that's not the reality. Any advice would be helpful. And conratulations sharon;_)
  19. yes I was thinking of making a turkey chili....I don't use mayo I use miracle whip fat free...and I put chopped nuts in the chicken with a tablespoon of cranberry sauce, garlic and onions. Tastes great. Haven't tried the tuna yet but I usually use onions, miracle whip (fat free) and a teaspoon of relish. I'm just not sure how much protein is in it so I have to check. I also need to meet with the nutritionist again which I know will be helpful. My insurance pays for endless nutritionist appts so I am fortunate. Thanks for the input, I'm also going to look at the food section for other ideas. It was easier to be just on the protein drinks..... sharon:)
  20. where's our ct man??? Haven't heard from him for a while. Hope all is well. everyone is doing very well...exciting times....but I am struggling to get in 60 gms of protein a day..without shakes...Just can't eat that much without having a lot of calories.....any suggestions?? I'm eating chicken salad (homemade) and egg salad (home made) sharon:)
  21. I think we just need to hang in there until we get filled. In reading all the blogs we really don't have restriction just a smaller pouch. I'm joining the gym this week and be able to start walking and exercising. We'll be fine.....sharon
  22. NO...your far enough out from the surgery the lifting shouldn't have had a thing to do with it. Your looking to justify what sounds like a lousy physician. sharon
