  1. Congratulations, I just had my MGB on June 8 9f 2016. I'm going on my second weekend and it has been kind of rough however I had a lot of leisions and scar tissues to cut through. I'm very Blessed to have had this surgery. This is a second chance at life for me. Without this surgery I had a chance of not making it till Thanksgiving. I know my journey is just now beginning however I'm ready.

  3. Hey guys...it has been a while since I posted. Life has been great. I've actually become this fitness fanatic. I love working out now...never saw that coming. My RNY changed my life and I'm so grateful. Still have a ways to go but I'm so happy with my progress. Starting weight 519lbs...surgery weight 428lbs...current weight 262lbs[emoji123]post-259514-14612266263915_thumb.jpg post-259514-14612266536337_thumb.jpg

  4. Hey guys. I'm 7months post op and down 133lbs since surgery and 91lbs before surgery, for a total of 224lbs gone forever!!!! I'm so excited with my progress, but I still have an extremely long ways to go. My highest weight 519...current weight 295. Well things are going great but I'm being bothered with horrible hunger pains, especially at night. It's like my appetite as risen from the dead. Most days I consume between 800-850 calories. I get between 80-100 grams of Protein and over 80oz of Water a day. I also work at with a personal trainer 5 days a week. Anybody else have or had this problem?!?

  5. Amazing! I'm very close to your current weight, and I've lost about 135 from my highest. It's strange to have lost so much, and still know there's a decently long road ahead of us. But this is very inspiring, thanks for sharing. When was your surgery date?

Yes, it is a long road ahead but thankfully not as long as it was before. We can do this!!!! My date was 7/20/2015 and yours?!?

  6. Hey guys!!! Just checking in to see how you guys are doing on the losers bench and to keep you updated on my progress. So I lost 91lbs before surgery and 116 since surgery for a total of 207lbs lost!!!! I'm so happy and thankful for my new life. I still have an extremely long way to going seeing that my current weight is 312lbs but it sure beats being 519lbs any day!!! Well wishes to all!!! See yah next month!!!

  7. Hey guys. I try to post on a monthly basis just to keep you guys updated on my progress!!! Hopefully it's motivational for someone. Well, today marks exactly 4 months since my life changing surgery. I am down 97lbs since surgery...91lbs prior to surgery for a grand total of 188 down!!! I can not be more happier. I still have an extremely long way to go seeing that my current weight is 331lbs but it sure beats being 519lbs anyday!!!! Well wishes to all!!!

  8. Yes... my last 3 post have been about this so called stall I'm in. Tomorrow will mark 3 weeks I've been at the same weight. It's gotta be something you can do to put your body into go mode again. I will be 5 weeks tomorrow and I keep being told the first 6 months is when you lose the most weight. How is that possible going at the rate I'm going?!? And yes I am following my diet and exercising 3/4 days a week!!!!

  9. Please don't be discouraged. I know it isn't easy when you don't see the progress on the scale. It can be very frustrating!! I have found that my body goes through adaptation periods especially to something new. It's been 5 weeks and your body has gotten used to what you are doing. You need to confuse it to get it going again. Have you tried different cardio to change it up? Different muscle groups? I have had stalls and when I see that the scale is hanging up, I know its time to change it up a bit. I have numerous different cardio that I do, cross country walking, biking, Zumba, treadmill, Kinect with numerous DVD workouts, numerous exercise DVD's, Hatha Yoga, swimming, occasionally canoeing, and kayaking (I live by 2 lakes and multiple rivers). I try and switch those up and rotate them often so that my body doesn't get used to the same routine, which keeps my body guessing and get it jump started. I promise that you are still transforming and most likely losing inches!!!! During stalls, focus on how clothes are fitting and also how you are tolerating longer cardio, which feels amazing when you couldn't do something the week before and the next week you can! Celebrate and focus on the NSV's (non scale victories) during stall periods. Significant weight gain doesn't happen overnight and neither does significant weight loss, although wouldn't that be awesome because it would make our journey's so much easier right? One stepping stone at a time, 1 pound at a time. Don't worry, it will happen and you are just beginning!!! :D Keep going you are doing great!!!

Thank you so much for this awesome response!!!

  10. So friends, I'm really starting to believe I'm the first person this surgery is just not going to work for. I'll be 5 weeks post op tomorrow. I was losing great the first 3 weeks and now NOTHING!!!!!!!!! And I mean absolutely NOTHING!!! What am I doing wrong?!? I follow my meal plan, taking in the right amount of Protein, trying to up my Water intake, I'm exercising 3-4 days a week. I'm getting very depressed, anger, and frustrated!!!!!! Please someone tell me if this is a "stall" how long will this last?!?

  11. Stick to the diet & exercise & the weight will fall off. I'm losing 10_12 lbs a month. At first I missed all the foods I had to give up. But I no longer miss them. You have to reprogram your brain towards food. I missed coffee the worse. I could drink Decaf but it wasn't the same. Now 8 months later I can drink regular coffee. Still can't drink carbonated drinks. Don't lose sight of the long term goal. I set monthly goals. I walk 3 miles 4 days a week. I go to the gym 3 days a week. I eat right now. And I'm getting results & so will you. Just take it one day at a time & ignore anybody being negative. This will work & in 1 1/2 yrs you'll be so glad you did it. Hang in there & Good Luck

Thank you so much for your response. I plan to do exactly as you've said. Congrats on your progress!!!

  12. I stalled at 5 weeks for two weeks, than at 7 weeks I lost 4 lbs. I just continued my diet and up my workout as I was frustrated. I did two miles on treadmill then four on a bike and did weights. After I killed myself in the gym that night the next day I lost a pound and started losing again. Just make sure you are getting in your Vitamins and water:)

I did start my exercising today and I'm down 2lbs, hopefully that was the kickstart I needed. Thanks for the response????
