teitei636 reacted to HDBC in I'm 4 days post-op and still no BM - should I be concerned?
Thanks, guys! Yeah but what about the solid food I ate the day before surgery? Well, turned out okay: I went for a long walk this morning and then when I got back home it finally happened. I'm just glad to know that things are working and moving.

teitei636 got a reaction from KiwiMum in How is everyone doing who has gastric sleeve this month?
Sleeved on Tuesday, the 21st. 4 days post op. No problems. No major pain. I was able to come off pain pills after 1st night home, but I typically have a high tolerance for pain.
It's so interesting to see all the restrictions others had, and they had difficulties. My surgeon required 2 shakes and a sensible meal(4 ozs of Protein and a veggie) two weeks prior up to the day before surgery. I'm very grateful that the pre-op gave me a better idea as to portion sizes for the future.
I've had a few weak feelings in my legs as my body adjusts, but I can say, walking that gas on out was a life saver those 1st 3 days. Excited for my post op appt and to start stage 2 diet--I'm sick of the liquids, lol.

The liquid diet is about all you can stand post op. I haven't been able to fully reach the goals yet, but each day, as swelling goes down, I'm able to take in more. I don't feel hungry, except when I first wake up. Maybe that's from the hours of not having anything. My surgeon also allows Protein shakes post op. I'm slowly able to now get 8oz in within an hour. That helps with the energy for sure.
My pain, I like to describe it as doing crunches for a few days, and being sore. Eventually, it completely goes away. I was able to stop pain pills after 1st night home. But, I'm typically have a high tolerance for pain. It will vary person to person. Good vibes to you. Don't be nervous. It will be over before you know it and you'll start seeing the weight fall in the first week after the bloating from the IV goes down. I'm too nervous to measure, but I can definitely tell its dropping

Agreed, most everyone here felt scared at one point or another, me included. I still wonder if the weight loss will stop and I will be a failure. All I can do is have faith in my plan and read the success stories here for inspiration.
    Good luck!!

That encouraged me to make it at a dinner next week. I'm only 4 days post op--the struggle of smelling the yummy food is real, but I'm determined to win! Thanks for sharing!
