  1. I started taking my chewable multi vitamin twice a day yesterday. They are the Bariatric Advantage berry flavored. The issue is every time I take them I get nauseated. Tonight after I took it, I started throwing up. Any advice or ideas on how to get these down without any issues? Has anyone else had this problem? I am 16 days post-op. These vitamins are the only thing that have caused me any nausea or vomiting. HELP- I know I need to get these down and keep them there.

    Self Pay Cost In Mississippi

Not sure about Mississippi, but it cost $12,000 for me to have it done in Alabama as a outpatient.
  5. My husband stayed home with me for 3 days. I definitely needed him here with me! After that, I have been fine staying by myself.

    Dehydrated & Gout

I had issues the first day or two out. I had to go into the surgeons office for IV fluids. I was done as a outpatient and went home the same day of surgery. Have you tried you liquids at room temp? I can't do cold liquids right now 11 days out. I drink all my water at room temp or heated. It is the only way I can get them down.

It is just fluid. It will go away. The same thing happened to me. I was 5 days post-op before I saw any weight lose.

    24 hour post op misery

It will get better! I had surgery on 8/6. I am still not sure how I made it through the first couple of days. I had surgery and came home the same day (don't get all the great pain meds). I can say that I am 6 days out now and feeling much better. I am not taking anything for pain now. I can get up and move around by myself. I do still have a lot of pressure in my stomach and get tired easily, but so much improved from the first couple of days. Hang in there!
  10. My was only for a week. Full liquids required for the first 6 days and clear liquids the day before surgery. I am only my last day of the pre-op. Going into tomorrow for my surgery.

    Blood thinners ...

My doctor also requires the shots for 30 days! It is for all his patients, doesn't matter the risk for blood clots.
  12. Hello new me

    Time-line?

I am private pay also. My first appointment was on June 30. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow August the 6th. Yes, it has been a crazy 5 weeks, but glad it is here already!
  13. It will get easier. I am 5 days in to my liquid diet with 2 days to go until surgery. I would say the 1st couple of days were the worst, especially when I had to give up the last of my caffeine . Each day gets easier and this part will be behind you before you know. Good Luck!

    August Sleevers

    August 6th here!
  15. Hello everyone. I have been researching on-line and reading post on this forum for several months now. I am a lower BMI patient who will be having self pay surgery on August 6th. I am nervous, excited, and just plain scared some days. I just got done with my pre-op class with the nutritionist. I was really frustrated during the class due to the comments and looks I received from other participants in the class (What are you doing here? There is no way you need this? Your MD is really letting you do this?). It is really bad when you go somewhere for help and support and you feel just as ostracized as walking into a normal size clothing store. We are all in the same boat by turning to WLS as a tool to help us control our weight and become a healthier version of ourselves. If these are the same people who will be participating in the support group meetings, then I don't see those being of much help. I don't know if there is a place to turn now for guidance and support. Most people on here seems to all be working towards the same goal and are pretty supportive. I decided to post today to both vent and hopefully find a place to turn to during the upcoming weeks, months, and years!
  16. Hello new me

Why do people say the things they do?

Thanks all! I know this is a start of a journey that I am more than happy to be on! I feel much better already that I have a place to come to get additional support. My husband is already my rock, but he does not always understand my struggles. I look forward to getting to know many of you in very near future.
  17. Good Luck! I am right there with you. My emotions are all over the place these days. I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow, so we will see how that goes. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, so we will be right there together on our journey next week.
