  1. I have my gastric sleeve surgery the end of June 2015 and I think I may have stretched my stomach. I will admit I have caved into unhealthy habits and carbonation. I was 354 surgery day and am currently 295. But its been at this weight for almost a month now. How can I get back on track? Any detoxes or specific things to do? Obviously cut out the carbonation again but anything else? I need help guys.

  2. I've been too sleepy and in pain to update so far, but here's what happening. Surgery was yesterday morning (7.27.15) at 8am. Got back to my hospital room around 1:30. Took my first lap at 6pm. Hurt really bad getting up and I was quite nauseous. Been urinatung pretty well with the catheter, urine is finally clear. Went on my second and third laps at 10pm then just now around 2:30. A little hard sleeping at first with the compression boots but I've been so tired due to pain medication that its no longer a problem. They had to stick me with needles 4 times and failed all for an IV until IV the came in and got it on the next try. Woke up with a second IV and its been fine until about an hour or two ago which is when it started swelling and itching. Nurses said it will be fine. Pain level currently is probably 6/10. The staff here is super nice and I'm as comfortable as I can be. Only slight drainage from a few incisions which is normal so I'm doing pretty well. I finally started ice chips around 10 last night. Things are pretty good.

  3. Hello! I'm Kayla. I'm 16. My surgery is coming up in 36 hours to be exact. I wasn't anywhere near nervous until now. I'm not super nervous but I am a tiny bit. I was just wondering what does it feel like going under? Like you took a nap or something? Also I will have a catheter in and I was wondering if anyone else has had one? What is it like? Is it uncomfortable? Also, how long until the pain isn't bad anymore? Idk. Just tell me about your experience plz ❤

  4. I had mine four days ago. I vomited pretty badly because that's what I do after GAs and I didn't get any loading anti emetics. So that caused some pulled muscles and discomfort. But once that passed the only real pain was in the port site the camera was in. Sipping the Water is important, and it gets easier. Better to be upright, sometimes standing works. I burped a bit, and it's uncomfortable until it comes out. Again being upright helps, and just wait. Don't chase it with more Water until discomfort passes. Thumping on the back is not ideal. Walking the ward as soon as you can is good. Gets trapped air moving. I'm finding taking the buccastem (gastro soothe) hard going. It's so bitter. I take it with a teaspoon of kiwi crush. Three times a day I'm dreading the next dose. But dire warnings to take it for the whole first week to mitigate ulcer risk. The pill to help stomach acid is no where near as bitter. Unpleasant, but it doesn't linger. I also didn't realise I'd have to wear the compression socks for an entire week. Feels amazing getting them off when I shower ha ha :) That's all I can really think of.

Wow!! So are you still in the hospital?

  5. I just downloaded this app. I've been looking for people to talk to about this and so far this app is a great place!! So I'm having my vsg surgery Monday (7.27.15) and I know the doctors tell you what to expect and such, but I would like to know what your experience was in the hospital. Like when they take you back for surgery and after? How long were you in hospital? How well did things work? And other stuff you wanna throw in there. ????
