  1. Your gardens are gorgeous!! How did you hear about the lasgna garden? I am going to google that. I want to start a new bed where we have lawn now and that seems easier than trying to did it up! I love hollyhocks! That chair idea is brilliant and adorable. You should market that somehow! Very creative.........

  2. OK, so here I am in Florida and I was worried about gaining weight -- yeah, better not happen since all I can eat are liquids! I had read the thread about being tighter after flying and never thought it would happen to me....well it has. I've been here for over 3 days and last night was the first time I ate solids without a PB! Maybe all we needed to hit Onederland was a vacation!!! Sure is different from the old days -- going on vacation and trying to find enough time on the trip to be sure to visit all the restaurants you wanted to try before you have to go home! Now all I am worried about is whether they have Soup on the menu! LOL! Good thing the margaritas slide by! I think I can do this vaca without a gain....hell, maybe I'll even lose!

  3. Vines...if you need a break, you need a break. LBT is not pointless though for anyone in our family. Whether you are losing or not, we are all here for each other through thick (no pun intended) and thin (again with the puns). The general threads are funny and not weight related at all. We'd love to keep you 'round...just 'cuz we love you!!!!!! As always, support is here for whatever decision you make, but your value and whatever value we can offer you is in no way tied to turtle, rabbit, up the scale or down the scale status.......all the white light to you wrapped up in hugs galore..............

  4. I too have had plantar faciitis in the past. I think that going barefoot at all is definately out!! I also found that the weight of heavy covers in bed at night hurt my feet. I startes wearing socks & keeping my feet out from under the blankets. Stretching with a rubber strap, and or rolling stretchers (even a tennis ball) while you are sitting help soooo much. Like the other bandsters, my just gradually went away.......Shoe choice is the key though -- no flip flops, keds, or other flat shoes................good luck!

  5. That's what I do! I figure if it goes through, there's room for more, but I know this is wrong. I t is not the goal to fill the pouch, but that is the feeling I wait for. I think I may eat until something gets stuck, or I get ahead of the amount going through the stoma and then I am "satisfied" -- aka packed!

Eileen, I have no idea how you could be in the presence of pizza, and eat salad -- you're a much better woman than I am sistah! No band in the land could train me to do that!

  6. My girlfriend had a hallucination like being on LSD while on Ambien -- curtains moving, walls waffling the works.....the next day she called her Dr and he said casually...."Oh, hallucinations are common on Ambien". Her reply was: "Thanks Doc....maybe someone could have mentioned this BEFORE I thought I was going insane". I guess her "episode" lasted a few hours! Scary!

  7. Baby steps sister....it will become more apparent as you go along. You can't figure it out now because you can't know how it will be. It will be a big change , but just take it one day at a time. Boy can I make being banded sound like a 12 step program or what!?!?!

The band is not a quick fix, and if you are not immediately successful, you just need some fills & adjustments........you CAN and WILL make it work for you if you have the desire to do so. Right now though, just focus on being strong & healthy going into your surgery & recovery. That is your job right now. Keep checking in here.....we've "been there, done that", and at the very least can be reassuring that what you are feeling is "normal"....baby steps, baby steps, baby steps...........

  8. Thank you ladies............hard to believe I'm 39 -- I think I'm still 27!! Saw a picture of Christie Brinkley on the front of a magazine this week -- It says "Christie at 52" She looks about 19 (just like me!!!! LOLOLOLOL)

Psyched to have the day off today for Patriots day -- holiday in MA -- DH home too (thank God) since kids are on school vacation! I think I might have a margarita lunch with my girlfriend :)

  9. I can't believe how many people have my Bday as their wedding anniv!!! Happy anniversary to all of you wed on 4/17!!!! Enjoy the day!

I have a funny story about my Fab Hubby.....I have known him since he was 3 years old....here comes the peverted part....I used to babysit him!!!! I am 5 years older than he is.....Anyhow we started as friends and have (obviously) grown to so much more.......I am so lucky to have him, and take every chance I get to say what a great husband and father he is......we were married in 1998 so I don't have any digital images of our wedding, but trust me, it was a great time!

  10. Eileen -- you are definately asking the wrong person as I feel I am in your same boat. I eat more than I should.....pouch stretching worries me too. I eat off a salad plate rather than a dinner plate but I would say I have about 2 cups of food at dinner. If I get full before it's gone, I do stop, but I wouldn't say that happens too often. If I were measuring out just 1c to eat, I would probably go over that if salad was part of the meal..........probably do about 1c of everything else then some salad.........My whole theory with the band has been changing. Rather than sticking to measurements and rules, I kind of say....if I'm losing, it's working..........Only problem is, I have only lost 1 pound in the last month. Time to tweak things a bit!!!!!!

  11. Soooo funny -- I was just thinking about Heathergurl and saw Gurly go by and never put the two together! We can't even keep track of ourselves!!!!! Not only are we losing pounds & inches -- we're losing each other!

  12. Try returning to liquids for a few days. If you have been PBing then you probably have some swelling. The mucus comes when things are stuck. If you keep your stoma clear for a while it should all settle down. Let everything get back to normal. Make sure you can have liquids and that you are having shakes with protein....if you can't handle liquids then you should see your Doc.....If the pills aren't sustained release, then you can crush them and put them in your liquids.....good luck, but give your Doc a call........

  13. I love the last one -- why give em an amswer if they didn't keep up with you? Take the compliment and turn the conversation. They don't need to know all you business anyways. That way they'll just be insanely jealous and not know what else to say! And you will have acknowledged that you worked hard, and yes, you do look great!
