Ready to cry my eyes out

    oooops, hold on
  2. Don't worry, your band is still there for you. Sounds like you may need another fill. You do need to take responsibility for you eating choices, but it doesn't sound like your band is restrictive right now (as it should be). Don't be hard on yourself. You got the band b/c you admitted you needed to try something new to help you lose weight. That something new just isn't properly adjusted yet. Call your Doc, get a fill, and give it time..............in the mean time, focus on protein to fill you up and maybe then you will eat less of the unhealthy things that caused your weight to come back.........Good luck -- you CAN do this!

    Compulsive Eating

Hey Jonathan. I definately can go overboard but never really considered my self as a compulsive eater. I do sometimes get that feeling though that I am missing something great in the world if I don't eat it all. I try to rationalize and say it will be good later. 2 oreos now, 2 tomorrow is still 4 oreos. But then I just have to eat the 4 (or more) right away b/c I just can't defer the want. I unfortunately (or maybe fortunately so I don't seek it) don't get the feeling of peace afterwards, I am just so disappointed in myself and guilt ridden. I will say that since being banded I am restricted from this type of behavior since I rarely get a compulsion to overeat cottage cheese (LOL) but the feeling of unrest sometimes rears it's ugly head...I just try to go to bed, or leave the house when it happens................I think alot of us are right there with you buddy. BTW, great to see you here again!

    Real Age

I was so surprised -- I figured: over weight, type 2 diabetes, not as much exercise as I should have etc would put my real age much higher than my actual. It was lower though (barely). I am 39 and it came out 37.5. Of course I answered with all my new lifestyle answers (post banding) maybe I'll go back and do it the old me way too....that would be interesting!

    A Complete Unfill! Yikes!!

Meagan -- I think you'll be fine.....you have so many new "windows" opened now -- like the watermelon. I agree with Delara -- the junk is overrated. I just pigged out on oreos -- was gonna have just 1 as a treat and now I feel so bad about having done it that I don't think I could go back to eating my old ways for a full day let alone a month. Alow yourself a few special treats of the foods you have missed, but stick to the freshest foods you can go with. Whether you think the band has retrained you, or just forced you to walk the tight and narrow, you'd be surprised how much your eating behaviors have changed.......good luck!

I need someone to tell me

Mel Anne -- if you feel like the burgers, fish etc are more than you can do right now (physically or psychologically) give yourself a break. Use the protein shakes etc. Protein will help you LOOSE weight! It is better for you and will get your metabolism going. Drink the water, eat the protein....if your body doesn't get a certain amount of both, your weight loss will actually be SLOWER, and you will not be healthy. Not eating is not the answer. You are doing GREAT and you just need a little more patience.........hang in there!

    Have I hit a plateau??

I think it's great that you've gone down consistently since October without a halt or a rise! I was banded in October too, and lost just over 50lbs in 3 or so months. Since then, it has taken me almost 3 months (and 2 fills) to lose the next 5!!!!! Down 3, up 2, down .5 up 4 etc....... I will say though that during that time my body changed alot (inches lost). I think the whole thing is a cycle -- pounds then inches, pounds then inches. Be patient with your body as your frame catches up with your poundage. For rewards and results in this period maybe start with a measuring tape instead of the scale....................keep up with the diet you've been working, and maybe tweak the exercise -- that scale will budge again (sooner or later)..........Hang in there!

    I hate it when..

I hate it when I get out of the shower and there are no towels. Good thing bathroom is off the kitchen -- 4 dish towels = 1 bath towel.......NOT! That's it so far this AM, but I'm sure I'll hate other things soon....check back later :grouphug:

ok as we slip into March

Sorry guys, I can't go that weekend (but don't reschedule b/c of me). I have a bridal shower for a family member, my son's 7th bday party (at my house) and a gymnastics show for my youngest son. Not even sure I can do all that so lunch in Worcester wouldn't really work :eekB:

    home...uuugggghhhhhhh

I cannot believe the people that are home and fine the same day as surgery! My surgery had no complications but I stayed 2 nights in the hospital ( I barely passed the barium swallow) and still I was home on the couch for days after that! I never considered myself to be a wuss, but I guess we're just all different! Allow yourself the time you need. It's all about the healing right now. Take it easy and welcome to the club!!!!!

    Yet ANOTHER surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Long post)

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I know we all want to succeed at weight loss -- but at what cost? You know from your post that where you are at isn't where you're supposed to be. You have to do what is best for your health or else it doesn't matter how skinny you are because you won't be able to enjoy it.....Please follow your Doc's advice. Take care of yourself. We are all here for you..............hang in there ((hugs))
  21. I have difficulty with most types of chicken which is a mainstay for me. And the food I miss the most is pizza. Probably better I can't eat it since I have no control over it, but I CRAVE it!!!!!! Sometimes when I am feeling less restriction (because of my period, or I need a fill or whatever) I try small amounts of the items I usually can't eat. A splurge once in a while is better than eating pizza daily is what I figure!

    Oh boy, tee hee

I walk around feeling all svelt too -- and then I see myself in the mirror and I'm still large!! Duh -- I weigh over 200lbs -- that's NOT petite!!! You know what though, it's relative to the size we used to be, and dang it, we've worked hard and should feel good! You know what E cup today is D cup in a few months, that's what I say!!!! Enjoy your success and just let it keep inspiring you!
