  1. I think it's the Big book on gastric bypass. I just ordered it, so I hope I was right! Lol @@sparksrn
  2. Hi all~ I read somewhere in one of these threads about an exceptional read for bypass surgery and I cannot remember the name of the book or thread I read it in. Some of you mentioned it's so good you've read it more than once. Can someone help with he name/ author of the book? Thanks, WLS peeps!????
  3. I Would love to see the post op meal plan you received if you're willing to share. Thank you @@thbrown223
  4. I have a friend who had this done in Januarynans she said she forgot about that part until I just mentioned it to her and yes, she said the Dr did and it seas wrong or something she had extreme pain as it was pushing against her lung. They took it out and she was 100%
  5. I am too! I can't wait and anticipate the loss that's inevitable, but I guess I don't believe it. I can't explain it other than feel this won't happen for me. So bizarre and I don't know why I'm feeling that way.
  6. ????????here here! It just seems so surreal to me and I guess I'm in denial. Anticipating roadblocks and I need to stop that. I need to sit back, reflect and enjoy this ride. So hard though.
  7. Yes I too have the insoles, a brace for nighttime and had cortisone injections. It's all back to horrendous pain.
  8. I guess I will ask this question too when I see him. Thanks!
  9. It feels like time is standing still. I cannot think of anything else but this. I am so excited, but so scared something will not go in my favor. I don't know why...I think it's nerves, but I can't control thinking "what if". Something I have to get passed. I am 5'8", 237#. Most of my weight is my stomach and upper torso...my legs are actually thin...always have been, but it makes it so uncomfortable that my back hurts and the chronic plantar fasciitis makes it difficult to walk. I'm hoping the weight comes off will also aide in all this weight on my feet. Oh and my pulse rate when I saw thenMD was 110!!!
  10. @@The Candidate....what's this drain you speak of? This is the first time I've heard of this ... Thanks
  11. @ Queen P...you look AMAZING!!????????????. I feel the same way, I know I will not care what it takes, or what I can and cannot eat, I want ME back and I want my life back. I want to feel good inside and out for ME. You are such an inspiration! Way to go girl! Keep it up!
  12. You ladies are beautiful!!????????????. I love the pics and it's so great to visualize what too can happen for us! Thank you, thank you, thank you and best wishes for continued success!
  13. @@kathy2208 I would think the surgeon is going to discuss your options and his recommendation of what surgery you should have. Do you have any heartburn? I do at times and also have this "sizzling" sound I hear so the MD out me on protonix and also said he wouldn't be surprised if I have a hiatal hernia. He wants me to be scoped so the MD knows what he's getting in to. For my own safety.
  14. When I met with the MD, he changed my surgeon appt to this month vs Sept. Because my insurance doesn't evidently have a timeframe, I guess he did that because of that. The Healthy for Life program requires me to have 3 mos, which would put me at about Oct. but I haven't been given a date yet. I see psych this week Weds and then the 20th the surgeon and the 26th, the NUT. I was told I don't have a window to lose weight so I need to maintain. I haven't been started on any type of diet or had any tests yet. I don't know when that will happen.
  15. I just want to give you a hug!! You did it! You got what you have been fighting for and now you are on the path to health and happiness. Thank you so much for sharing your inside story with us and I wish you the easiest and happiest of recoveries. You are going to do great! We are in your corner????????????????
  16. Hi all, I am currently on the journey of pre-op. I went to the seminar, saw Dr. Shamsi (MD) who said I qualify and is pushing my surgery up hopefully a month to maybe Oct/Nov? Date is yet tbd. They pushed my surgeon appt up a month to later this month, as well as have my psych appt next week, followed by the NUT later this month. Was hoping to get some feedback from others who chose Healthy For Life with Surgeon, Dr. Stanish. All the best!
  17. That's what I'm going for too. I can't wait to hear all of your tips and advice you can give. Please share with us what your weight losses are too. Congrats!!
  18. Thbrown223, that is fantastic!! I'm planning for bypass myself and MD recommended that too. I have tongi for scope as well, scared of that too lol. I see psych next week and then week after I see surgeon and week after that I see dietician. So I will have 3 appts in August alone. I will only have the exercise specialist remaining after that. Not sure if a surgery date yet as I have to be scoped but do they give that date to you when you meet with surgeon? Best of luck to you!! Md said he'd like to move this up a month, so I'm kind of thinking October?
  19. May I ask which surgeries you both had?
  20. So happy to hear you are doing so well????????????. Prayers to you for les and less pain and discomfort each day. The pain you are in now I'm sure doesn't even compare to the aches and pains prior surgery. This has got to be a good pain. You will feel better soon and it's so worth it. I cannot wait to be in your shoes!????. Please keep us posted on your progress❤️
  21. How are you doing post op, FrankinTexas?????????
  22. I just had my first appt. I went to the seminar on July 20th, saw the MD for the 1st time. Have my psych visit scheduled next week then I see the surgeon next month, the NUT in Sept and exercise specialist in October...but I have a feeling they will move those 2 appts up because the MD I saw the other day moved my surgeon appt up an entire month!
  23. Oh this makes me soooo excited! I am a 40DD, and would LOVE to be back to a B. I hate the weight of them and how much bigger I look with them too. I did lose a ton of weight twice before after 2 of my kids and I don't remember losing much up there...I was smaller before the weight gain too.
  24. Lol I am new here...what is NUT? Wait! Nutritionist? lol just figured it out! Lol
